As the owner of Childrens Choice Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, Dr. Anamelechi is passionate about creating not only a phenomenal dental experience for children in the area but being partners with families in the oral health of their child. Her areas of expertise come from years of additional training to include but not limited to laser dentistry, maternal and child health, dental trauma, growth and development. She is a graduate of Duke University and the University of North Carolina Schools of Dentistry and Public Health. Following graduation, she completed the specialized Pediatric Dental Residency Program at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Anamelechi was named one of Americas Top Pediatric Dentists by the Consumers Research Council of America. In addition to her private practice, she is a member of the teaching faculty at Childrens National Medical Center and Georgetown University Medical Center. She has privileges at Childrens National Medical Center (Washington, DC), Prince Georges County Hospital (Cheverly, MD), and Bowie Surgical Center (Bowie, MD). Along with professional memberships locally, nationally and internationally, she serves as the president of the DC American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and a co-leader of the Medical and Dental Collaboration committee for the DC Pediatric Oral Health Coalition and the Maryland Dental Action Coalition and the DC Pediatric Oral Health Coalition. She is also a speaker for Colgate-Palmolive Oral Health Network Speakers Program.
Dr. Anamelechi is married to Dr. Charles Anamelechi who works for Deloitte Consulting, LLP. She loves mission trips, spending time with her family, and trying new recipes. Together with her son and daughter, she is on her way to becoming a master Playdough builder.
Dr. Shiva Mostowfi obtained her bachelors degree from the University of Massachusetts and her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston. She completed her residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (where she met Dr. A). Following graduation, she practiced general dentistry in the Boston metropolitan area for five years.
Dr. Shiva went on to pursue a combined residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics as well as a Master of Business Administration at the Roseman University of Health Sciences in Nevada. During her residency, she gained advanced clinical and didactic experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mild-to-complex orthodontic cases, with an emphasis on precise and efficient treatment approaches.
As the newest member of our experienced team of specialists, Dr. Terri Ambrose is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist from Brooklyn, New York. She received her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her advanced dental degree at Howard University College of Dentistry. While at Howard, Dr. Ambrose discovered her passion for working with children, especially those with special needs.
Following dental school, she pursued pediatrics as a specialty through a residency program at Brookdale University Hospital in the heart of Brooklyn, NY. Since completing her residency training, Dr. Ambrose has had the privilege of serving in both private practice and in education as hospital attending. She has always considered Maryland a second home and is happy to be serving patients in the DMV area.
Dr. Sarah Lukeman was born and raised in Long Island, New York. She received her bachelors degree from New York University and went on to graduate summa cum laude from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Lukeman completed her training in pediatric dentistry from NYC Health + Hospitals/Woodhull in Brooklyn, NY, becoming chief resident in her second year. Her education includes treating children with special needs, dental phobias, and the medically compromised.
While in dental school, Dr. Lukeman traveled to Madagascar where she treated children with no access to dental care. This experience solidified her decision to become a pediatric dentist. She is committed to making every dental visit fun for both the patient and parent.

We travel from Baltimore bc we love this practice. We started coming here during a very difficult time when my son needed a lot of dental work and Dr. Grant quite literally made it all better. She fixed my son's teeth and the practice has been taking excellent care of him ever since. The hygienist Vicki is also amazing!

My 2yo just had his first visit to the dentist ever at Children's Choice. He had a great time and came home saying he likes the dentist! Everyone was great, from the front desk folks to the doctor and the hygienist. They clearly know how to deal with young children and could easily put him at ease. The hygienist was singing songs the whole time and he was totally distracted and happy. Strongly recommend it for the young ones! Update: we had our second visit. They are amazing. All the personnel was very positive and professional. They made the whole experience easy and fun. We also had a holistic evaluation of my son's tongue thrusting and bite, and came out with a plan on how to continue evaluating and working on our issues. I love this place!

Amazing! Our two year old who doesn't allow us near his teeth smiled all throughout the visit and loved playing with the tooth monster while in the seat! Follows up by a visit four months later with a way more aware cautions toddler - amazing! Doctor was so positive and was able to distract him to clean his teeth.

I am so happy I found Children's choice for my five-year-old son. Since our first appointment, I have been highly impressed. The staff is always warm and welcoming, which puts my son at ease and makes him feel comfortable during his visits. I love that they allow the parents to sit with their children in case they need reassurance while getting their teeth cleaned. Ms. Jo is AMAZING; she has a beautiful voice and always sings or comforts my son if he is a little uneasy, and I looovvvee Dr. Anamelechi! Dr. Anamelrchi is kind, attentive, and funny. This amazing doctor is a true visionary and is completely changing the game for children's dentistry. Thank you all for a great experience every time.

I really love this pediatric dentist. They make you feel so welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Ms. Vicki (??) did an excellent job doing my son's flouride treatment today. We're looking forward to our cleaning in a couple of months.

The office is nice and colorful. The front desk employees are very welcoming. They know who's walking in the door on your way in. The dental assistants and hygienist is great. The hygienist explained the importance of good dental hygiene to my son and her recommendations for aftercare. Dr. Anamelechi is always amazing.

We had a tongue and lip tie consult here and then proceeded to get the tongue tie procedure done here with Dr. Anamelechi and we could not be happier. She's gentle, kind and truly wonderful with kids. Our son is just 3 months old and we trusted her with his care. Everyone we have encountered at this dentistry has been such a delight to work with, from the front desk all the way through. We would highly recommend and will continue to bring James here.
