At the Childrens Center for Dentistry, we cater to kids and their unique needs. Every member of our team, from our doctors to our hygienists, assistants and front desk staff, LOVES working with children, and it shows in the care we provide. Our office is welcoming and clean and built specifically to accommodate the needs of children.

In addition to caring for children here in our office, our team members are also active in the community. We are devoted to ongoing education to stay on top of the latest developments in pediatric dentistry so that we can make sure that the families who come to us will always receive the most state-of-the-art care possible.

A native of central Illinois, Dr. Greg graduated from Princeville High School before earning his Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in 2003. He received his DMD in 2007 from Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Greg practiced as a general dentist for four years in Canton and North Pekin, and then went on to complete his residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Dr. Renee is the newest addition to Childrens Center for Dentistry, but is certainly someone who is very familiar with our practice. She grew up in the small town of Nashville, IL, and graduated with honors from St. Louis University in 2003. She then attended Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine where she met Dr. Greg. Dr. Renee brings over 12 years of dental experience to the Childrens Center for Dentistry team, along with the invaluable wisdom gained from parenting 5 children.

Her kind and caring nature has made her a seamless fit with our team and the values that we hold. Dr. Renee lives in Bloomington with her husband (Dr. Greg) and their 5 children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and fitness.

We would like to limit the spread of COVID-19 in our community by asking patients to call and reschedule if you have any COVID-19 symptoms, if you have been in contact with anyone with COVID-19, or you have traveled to a COVID-19 hot spot or out of state within the past two weeks. In addition, we are limiting only one parent/guardian to accompany our patients unless otherwise agreed upon. All persons that enter our building are to wear masks and are asked to keep a minimum social distance of 6 feet.

We recommend twice-yearly examinations and cleanings for most of the patients we see. Regular examinations allowour doctors to monitor your childs development and look for any developing problems or even situations that have the potential to develop into problems. This allows us to plan treatment in advance so that it can be performed at precisely the right time for the most benefit.

Our office also offers preventive treatments such as fluoride varnishes and sealants. While the water in our area is fluoridated, many families drink filtered or bottled water, which may mean that your child is not getting a sufficient supply of this valuable mineral. Studies have shown that fluoride that is applied to the teeth every six months by a professional decreases the incidence of tooth decay.

We also find that many children benefit from having sealants applied to the chewing surfaces of their teeth to prevent food and bacteria from being trapped in the grooves and creases of the teeth and causing cavities. If we feel that sealants may be right for your child, well discuss this with you.

Even our most meticulous brushers get cavities from time to time. We offer a wide array of restorative materials and procedures to individually address every unique situation. From fillings to crowns, extractions to space maintainers, pulpotomies to frenectomies; our doctors are able to offer comprehensive pediatric dental care for your child.

Practically every child will have a dental emergency at some point in their childhood. Whether they caught a baseball with their teeth, fell off the swing onto their face, or woke up with an infection in their gums, you want to know that your child can receive prompt and effective treatment from a dentist you trust.

If your child is fearful of visiting the dentist or has special needs and is having difficulty getting the care he or she needs, sedation dentistry may be the solution. Our doctors are able to offer a number of sedation options to help your child have the most pleasant dental experience possible including nitrous oxide, oral conscious sedation, in-office deep sedation, and out-patient general anesthesia.
