At CCD we understand that many people have deep-rooted fears and anxiety related to going to the dentist. Virtually half of the population does not seek regular dental care due mainly to anxiety and the fear of pain associated with dental treatment.
At CHICO CREEK DENTAL, our mission is to provide state-of-the-art dental services in a safe, relaxing, and anxiety free manner. We accomplish this via the use of intravenous medications and other forms of sedation. We have been providing intravenous (IV) sedation to our patients for well over 30 years in Chico. IV sedation is not reserved for only the fearful. It is very effective for patients with severe gag reflex, difficulty in getting numb, and those patients that would like to have the maximum amount of work done in the minimum amount of time!
Dr. Ryan is a graduate of the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He completed a residency program in Hospital Dentistry at the University of California at San Francisco and was a member of the faculty in the School of Medicine and School of Dentistry for nine years. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Oral Medicine and Oral Biology, he was the Director of the General Practice Residency Program at UCSF. Dr. Ryan is a former instructor in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and has been certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
Dr. Ryan has completed training programs in Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry at the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas and the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in Las Vegas. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and is the chairman of the Hospital and Geriatrics Committee and is on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Dental Society. His outside interests include motor sports (particularly drag racing), skiing and scuba diving. Also, he is an instrument rated private pilot.
Susie is the Clinical Care Coordinator. She has more than 20 years of experience in the dental field in both dental administration and clinical assisting. She is responsible for addressing our patients concerns about their treatment from their initial visit through completion. I am proud to call Chico my hometown. Both my husband (Jim) and I had the privilege to grow up in this wonderful community and are fortunate enough to pass it on to our daughter, Macy. Our lives outside of work are spent supporting our daughters passion for horses. We spend much of our time at the stable or watching her participate in shows.
My husband (Preston) and I moved to Chico in 1988. It was then that I went to work at Chico Creek Dental. I have two boys (Wyatt and Hayden). There are many height marks on Dr. Ryans office door (through the years he has measured our kids growth on his office door).
I feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Ryan for a boss, teacher and friend. He has taught me everything that I know about dentistry. I enjoy helping Dr. Ryan and other dentists in the Chico area while they perform treatment on patients in the hospital operating room.

I would NOT recommend this place at all!! They overcharged my husband by $244!! $538 for 2 basic fillings. The dentist left one tooth blue and this same tooth now needs to be pulled because they didn't get the cavity all the way out. They refuse to refund us. They charged us the full amount while accepting $180 from insurance and now will not even reimburse the money the insurance payed even tho we already payed it. We will be taking them to small claims court. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! ABSOLUTLET HORRIBLE!! I WILL ALSO BE CALLING STATE LICENSING AND BBB.

Wow! Wonderful experience for a dental procedure. Dr drew me a beautiful detailed picture of my tooth while explaining the circumstances surrounding the tooth and procedure that I underwent. I'm going to frame it, lol it's beautiful, I kid not!... and I learned a ton about the anatomy of the tooth. He's the real deal!! and his help is all top shelf. Huge recommendation to all. I understand they're great with kids too. Location, good parking puts Chico Creek Dental at six stars!

Dr. Ryan took me in over the holidays when I needed a root canal. My regular dentist screwed up and even though their message said they were on call, they weren't. I returned to Dr. Ryan's office today for a cleaning and met their hygenist, Candy. She did a great job. The front staff were friendly and helpful too.

Everything was nice in the beginning, as soon as they found out I had work done in Mexico, suddenly I had violated a rule, because I have denti-cal they cannot see me. Even if I pay out of pocket. the fact is that he didn't want to give me dental care. His staff is more concerned with some arbitrary law then helping people. More and more I'm seeing this type of violence
