With three decades of service, Dr. Baer is a teacher, researcher, lecturer, and practitioner with a focus in dental implantology and reconstructive dentistry. He earned a BS in biology and MS is physiology from Drake University, and completed a doctorate in dental surgery from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then did a 2-year residency in Hospital Dentistry at the University of Chicago where he stayed on with the University Of Chicago for the next 20 years as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. In his position he conducted clinical research on cutting edge techniques in implant dentistry and instructed implant dentistry in the maxillo-facial prosthetic fellowship. He also took to the podium at the University of Illinois as an assistant professor of oral medicine. Dr. Baer and Dr. Marcus founded CCAD in 1987 as the University Of Chicagos faculty practice.
Dr. Baer has been called to share his expertise and practices beyond the borders of the city and country. He traveled around the world to discover new techniques and train clinicians on the research he conducted. During a lecture in Moscow, Dr. Baer saw an opportunity to be a global dental pioneer, and he founded a Russian center for clinical research and education. The Chicago Center for Advanced Dentistry is now in its 21st year of operation and is a major provider of advanced care and education in the region. Back in the CCAD offices, Dr. Baer mentors doctors and educates students on implantology through courses and video streams, and travels regularly teaching in the US and abroad.
An active member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr. Baer is widely published in dental and medical journals and is also a frequent lecturer at international conferences and universities. The Chicago Tribune has named Dr. Baer a Top Dentist for the past three years.

Dr. Marcus is a second-generation dentist who began his career with his father, who was known as the dentists dentist of his generation. A 1982 graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry he also taught incoming residents as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Zoller dental clinic. From the inception of CCAD, Dr. Marcus has been instrumental in elevating the field from within this office. Hes brought revolutionary technology, mentorship educational programming and progressive patient care to CCAD. He thinks outside the box.

Dr. Stuart Schelkopfs passion, dedication, strong values, and caring personality has led him to impact the lives of many patients, allowing them truly life-changing dental care. From an early age, he became a highly-trained board-certified dental specialist (prosthodontist). His practice focuses on his specialty of prosthodontics, which is the ADA-recognized specialty dedicated to maintaining, restoring, and replacing teeth. His practice includes a concentration on esthetically-enhancing dentistry (veneers and smile enhancing makeovers), dental implants, complex dentistry, full-mouth reconstruction, as well as comprehensive dental care and maintenance.
Discovering his enjoyment of esthetics, healthcare, engineering, and personal interaction, Stuart found dentistry to be a field that peaked his interests early on. Raised in Dekalb, Illinois, Stuart was initially exposed to the dental field while shadowing and then working in an orthodontics office. After high school, he attended the University of Illinois where he earned his Bachelors of Science (BS), majoring in Chemistry with a focus on pre-dentistry and graduating with presidential honors, magna cum laude honors, and as a James Scholar. Following graduation, Dr. Schelkopf earned his Doctor in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, graduating salutatorian of his dental school class with a focus on specializing in advanced prosthodontics and esthetic dentistry. He went on to complete a 3-year specialty residency in advanced prosthodontics, a Masters of Science in Oral biology, as well as an additional 1-year implant and digital dentistry fellowship, all at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
It was Dr. Schelkopfs commitment to being able to provide the best care for his patients that led him to complete the highest level of formal education and training in his field. His perfectionist nature and passion for his craft is evident in his treated cases, but it is his relatability and compassionate nature that so many patients appreciate equally. Dr. Schelkopf prides himself on providing the highest-quality care with a personal touch, and his work speaks for itself, as can be seen in the smile gallery page.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Schelkopf lectures on prosthodontics, esthetic dentistry, and implant care as well as serves as a mentor for pre-dental students, new dentists, and prosthodontics residents. Outside of the office, Stuart enjoys golf, reading, and exploring Chicagos dynamic food scene with his wife Kalee. However, he would tell you that his greatest dedication and accomplishment is being a loving husband and father, recently welcoming his and Kalees newborn son Parker into their family.
