Dr. Steve Chew was born and raised in Northern California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the University of California, Davis in 1981 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) from the University of California, San Francisco School of Dentistry in 1985.
Dr. Chew has been proudly serving patients in the Tri- Valley area since 1985. He is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Southern Alameda County Dental Society.
Beginning as an undergraduate student at UC Davis, Dr. Chew has provided dental services in many parts of the world including California's Central Valley, Israel, the Philippines, and Korea. Most recently Dr. Chew and his family provided dental services to the indigenous peoples of Belize and Guatemala.
Dr. Chew lives in Pleasanton, California with his wife Kimberly and three children, Stephanie, Michael, and Lauren. He can often be seen running or cycling through town and come winter he is an avid skier.
She has enjoyed volunteering with the Dental Mission to Punta Gorda, Belize with Dr. Chew. She has also volunteered to promote dental health awareness in grade school classrooms, health fairs, and Project Homeless Connect. Dr. Tran enjoys traveling and baking tasty treats.
Kim started her career in the health profession in 2012 with Dr. Chew, although she helped with office duties at our office while she was in high school. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves her new role as a mom to her little boy! She is happy to have the opportunity to enhance patient's dental experiences and create an environment where the patient is at the center. She finds satisfaction in being part of an industry where people are helping people.
Amy has been with Dr. Chew for ten years and in the dental field for twenty-four years. She spent the first nine years as a dental assistant and the remainder has been spend as a hygienist. She is married and has one beautiful daughter. Amy enjoys playing with her daughter and tapping into her creative side with bead work. Amy loves helping people stay healthy and educated on how to care for their mouths. She finds satisfaction and happiness in forming good relationships with her patients.
Melinda graduated from Chabot College Dental Hygiene Program in 1996 and has been serving the Tri-Valley's dental needs every since. She has been part of Dr. Chew's team since 2007. Melinda has been married to her husband for almost twenty years and together they continue to raise their two sons and daughter. She also has two dogs, two cats and several fish! Melinda loves getting to know the patients she works with and easing any dental fears they may have. She aims to make their visit as pleasant as possible. She has a passion for educating patients and finding ways to improve their dental health which ultimately improves their overall well-being.
