Akram Sannaa, DMDDr. Sannaa is a graduate of Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to attending dental school, he was involved in public health research at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Sannaa was awarded with the Prestigious International College of Dentists Leadership Award along with the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine High Achievement Award.
Dr. Sannaa is known for his delightful charisma and deep knowledge of general dentistry as well as his textbook work in his practice. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but is particularly passionate about cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Sannaa is known for using advanced dental equipment and the latest techniques. He is known for his impressive results and his high-end dentistry. He is committed to providing his patients with the best care possible and thrives off patient satisfaction.
Outside the office, Dr. Sannaa enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, traveling, skiing, touring D.C., cooking, tasting new recipes, exploring new hiking trails and camping. Dr. Sannaas family has been making olive oil for so many generations that it has become their heritage, which is where his last name Sannaa derives from: the makers.
Dr. Azin Ghesmati, DDSDr. Ghesmati received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biology and kinesiology from York University in Toronto, Canada, as well as earning a bachelors degree in software computer engineering.
Azin is an avid watercolor painter. She believes that the more you understand and appreciate the art, the better you can develop, evaluate and improve your own artwork. This understanding of art is focused even more on her dental work. She has gained a vast amount of experience and education in how to intertwine the beauty of fine arts and the techniques being employed in the modern era of dentistry to serve her patients, all the while considering the general health of her patients to be of utmost concern. Dr. Ghesmati offers a comprehensive approach to dental health, where beauty intersects with function.
Dr. Ghesmati is a member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. She considers her education at UCLA in aesthetic reconstruction an eye-opener on how restorative dentistry should be done in the most conservative way and how a patients overall oral health plays an important role when designing a new, healthy smile. Dr. Ghesmatis background in engineering made it very easy for her to employ digital dentistry in her practice.
Azin is proud of the cases that she has had, restoring patients smiles and oral health after facial trauma. She takes great satisfaction in her role in restoring both patients smiles and their confidence. Her greatest goal in practicing dentistry is patient education and satisfaction.
Lily Aviles Dental HygienistLily is one of the most talented and caring hygienist you will ever encounter. With over 10 years of experience, her skill level is admirable. She enjoys working in an environment with professionals that trust and encourage her clinical skills. Lily is diligent in providing optimal, customized care to each patient she meets. When not in the office, she spends time with her husband and 21-year old fashionista daughter. Lilys hobbies include trying new restaurants around DC, traveling and cooking.
Meg Assefa Dental HygienistMegdelawit (Meg) has been a practicing hygienist for over 10 years. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, where she earned her bachelors degree and license in dental hygiene. She is also certified in Invisalign, sleep apnea treatment and is highly trained to work with any special needs patients. Meg is our queen of technology and you will never find her without her intraoral camera in hand. She is a people person, extremely detail oriented and has the most calming spirit, which makes all her patients feel right at home when she is working with them.
During her days off, she takes care of her young son and daughter, and they both keep her on her toes! In her free time, she enjoys watching stand-up comedy and volunteering at church. Meg is from Ethiopia (where coffee originated from!).

I required a root canal to get dental clearance for hip surgery. The process was PAINLESS at the office and only a slight soreness in the jaw for a few days afterward. Installing the permanent crown was fast and painless too. Don't be afraid of a root canal at this office. Dr. Azin Ghesmat is a DREAM!!!!

You can't trust them. Check with your insurance first before you go. They aren't paying attention, they will misrepresent, and they don't care about screwing you over with the bill.

When my former dentist of many years retired, I doubted I would ever find his combination of excellent medical skill, professionalism, and a genuine caring for and about his patients. It took time, but I did! Dr. Ghesmati at Chevy Chase Dental, is extraordinarily gifted in the practice of dentistry and is a patient and kind doctor. I actually look forward to going to the dentist!

Chevy Chase Dental Center provides a first-class dental experience. The entire team is committed to making sure that the needs of the patient are addressed from start to finish. The administration staff are top notch - Whitney and Bee are highly professional, always available with a smile, very gracious, and willing to help. Christina, who deals with billing issues, provides invaluable support to work though issues with the dental insurance. Lissette and Jay are the best dental assistants ever - always kind and efficient. And Meg and Lily are the best hygienists in town, both are highly skilled and proficient, providing a thorough and gentle cleaning every time. Dr. Ghesmati and her outstanding team exceed expectations at every visit. Just the very best!!

I highly recommend Chevy Chase Dental as they are very professional, kind, and hospitable towards their patients. The people in the front, Lissette, Matthew, and Dr Sannaa are all helpful. Not only are they easy to talk to, they are passionate with what they do and are very sensitive, compassionate, and understanding with any problems or questions that you may have.

I highly recommend Chevy Chase dental center. Dr.Sanaa an expert in his field and always treats me as if I am his most important patient.The staff are marvelous and will move heaven and earth to help you in an emergency.. The office is beautiful. From cleanings to cavities and overlays to crowns I have had only superb results. These are kind and caring people doing good work for others. Chevy Chase dental center is a very happy office staffed by very friendly and happy people. There are several parking spaces in the rear but if those are taken you can park on 38th St. at Military Road (2 hour limit)and walk one block to the office.

Very competitive and professional people in all phases of this office. The office staff is friendly and welcoming even offering cold bottles of water while you wait. Dr Sana is very professional and I highly recommend him. The office and work ares are spotless and follow all protocols in this age of covid. He listens well, has a great personality and is very professional. He is sensitive to any issues with pain management and is very careful to check and recheck bite issues after any procedures. This dentist has cured me of my fear of going to the dentist. I highly recommend them.

CCD is by far exceptional - Dr. Sanaa and his team Whitney, Jay, Matthew and everyone else, truly go above and beyond to make the experience as pleasant and welcoming as possible. Dr. Sanaa in particular is a gem. He is friendly, approachable, incredibly smart, compassionate and most importantly, very kind. Highly recommend!

Dr. Sannaa has been my primary dentist since he began practicing at the CCDC. I have received excellent, competent care for a variety of issues, some fairly complex, and compassion and a warm relationship with him and the staff, as well. I feel confident and secure that whatever dental issues may arise, they will be resolved efficiently with up-to-the-minute skills and procedures. Very appreciative.

Dr. Ghesmati does a fantastic job. After hopping around from clinic to clinic I finally found CCDC and I haven't needed to look again. The staff is super kind and is willing to explain anything that you don't understand. And the best part is that my teeth look immaculate in all my photos ;)

CCDC exceeds every level of professionalism and hospitality. Started seeing this team in 2020 for a year of Invisalign; I've since moved to upstate NY for school and make the 6 hour trip at every academic break to see Dr. Sannaa, Jay, and Lissette--they are worth it. Finally completed a cosmetic bridge for my congenital hypodontia and I could not be happier with the results. Dr. Sannaa is the Da Vinci of teeth but more importantly, I'm in awe this office team will remember each patient and communicate so efficiently despite a huge interstate relocation. No better option in the DVM
