Dr. Eli Rachlin grew up in Toronto, Canada. He graduated Dental School in 1996 from the University of Toronto, and was awarded the prestigious Student Leadership Award due to his volunteer work with special-needs children and children with life-threatening illnesses. He moved to New York so that he could complete a Fellowship in Advanced Dentistry at Columbia University.
Dr. Rachlin then completed residency in Hospital Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center and Jacobi Hospital, and completed his specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Rachlin regularly attends Continuing Education courses to stay current on the latest science and techniques in the field of Pediatric Dentistry, and to ensure that his patients receive the best dental care possible.
Dr. Rachlin, or 'Dr. Eli', as he is known, is renowned for his gentle and easy-going manner with children of all ages. His warm, friendly manner puts even the most anxious child at ease. 'I knew I wanted to focus my career on helping kids smile before I realized that I would do so through the practice of dentistry -- actually helping their smiles!' jokes Dr. Eli.
In 2007, Dr. Rachlin's vision of the optimal pediatric dental experience was realized, with the opening of Chestnut Ridge Pediatric Dental. From the 'boat at sea' in the reception area, to the fluffy clouds over the front desk and in the hallways, the brightly-colored sunny facility is a reflection of Dr. Eli's approach to dentistry. It is state-of-the-art and child-centered, but most of all, FUN. By combining a fun environment for your child, the best techniques and materials that modern dentistry has to offer, and a personalized approach (with an emphasis on prevention), Dr. Eli hopes to make every dental visit an enjoyable experience for your child.
Dr. Rachlin is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and an active member of the American Dental Association and the New Jersey Dental Association.

Wonderful experience! Dentist was super friendly and thoroughly explained everything. The office is super fun and colorful for kids and they get a sticker and a prize when they leave! So glad we chose Chestnut Pediatric Dental!

An amazing experience! Dr Eli and his staff were absolutely fantastic with my 2 year old daughter at her first appointment. We cannot say enough about this practice! My daughter had major oral surgery at the age of 4. We had total trust and confidence and they were so careful to protect our daughter from the "fear" of the dentist. Well my daughter begs to visit! The new office is state of the art!

Dr. Eli and staff have been wonderful with my kids through many, many years of check-ups, cleaning and fillings. He does great work and the kids never minded going! Debbie makes scheduling and all of the insurance/billing very easy.

Beware fillings. He uses metal. Even when I told him I did not want that for my daughter, he tried to convince me otherwise over whirring machines and talking quickly through his mask. I said no. He did it anyway. He also seems more interested in fillings than any other kind of cavity prevention.

Top Notch! I wish I would have taken my kids to see Dr Eli from the start. His welcoming office, his friendly staff - Debbie in particular- and Dr Eli himself - who was excellent with my very nervous son - made our visit driven by a cavity painless for both mom and son. He explained everything clearly and I highly recommend him to any parent looking for a dentist for their child.

We just moved to the area and I was so impressed with this practice. Dr Eli was calm and friendly with both my kids. He explained everything to both them and us. Showed them all the equipment first and really put them at ease. He was very thorough, and did not push any unnecessary treatment. The office is brand new and completely tailored to children - bright inviting spaces and TV in every room. Would highly recommend!

I travel a distance to go to CHestnut Ridge, the office staff and dentist are wonderful. The staff is welcoming and my children are not afriad to go to the dentist. They are always happy when they leave the chair. I would travel any distance to go to Dr. Rachlin! INCREDIBLE service and chairside manner.

Dr. Rachlin and dental hygienists are incredible! He has been seeing my autistic son since he was 8 (now 16) and since then also see's my toddler also. Always explains everything prior to doing it, makes sure my kiddos are comfortable, and also throughly answers any questions you may have has a parent! Debbie, the receptionist, is also fantastic; always helpful and accommodating!
