Dr. Robert Yoon is a Baltimore native who was raised in Owings Mills, Maryland. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, and worked for IBM and BGE as an engineer for a number of years before entering the University of Maryland Dental School. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from dental school and received academic and research honors: Whos Who among Students in American Universities & Colleges, member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Harry E. Kelsy Orthodontic Award, Academy of Dental Materials Award, and the Geriatrics and Gerontology Education & Research Program.
Dr. Yoon completed a three-year post-doctoral residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Maryland and graduated with a Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics. He has been in practice since 2000 and is limited to orthodontics exclusively. Dr. Yoon is a member of the following professional organizations:

Todays orthodontic options allow Dr. Yoon to create beautifully healthy smiles for all ages and, in most cases, to do so virtually invisibly! He offers Invisalign transparent aligners, which are almost undetectable. He also offers Clarity SL brackets: clear, self-ligating braces that are also practically invisible.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.
Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance. Wires are far less noticeable, and the latest materials are designed to move teeth faster with more comfort. Today, any age is a great age to wear braces!
Treatment time varies and can last between one and three years, depending on several factors including age, treatment method, and how minor or severe your case is. A big factor in a successful treatment is you! The more involved and diligent you are, the more efficient your treatment will be. For children, receiving interceptive or early treatment can also help provide a quicker treatment time.

So far an amazing experience! Kari especially is very warm and reassuring. I have pretty high anxiety, especially in any medical office, and the staff has done a wonderful job making me feel comfortable with the plan and the steps needed. I'm not looking forward to the next 18-24 months of braces, but the folks at this office are sure to ease some of the stress of the situation.

Dr. Yoon is a wonderful orthodontist. Him and his staff take great care of their patients and are always friendly. Dr. Yoon made himself available after hours to help with some problems that occurred with my son. I would never see this in dental treatment anywhere else. His staff are always very courteous and helpful to schedule appointments. My first son just got his braces off and I have another one in them, with the last to follow. We will definitely be them for awhile. Our son's smile is beautiful - great work.
