Brian Cherry was raised in Greenville, SC, and graduated from Riverside High School, going on to further his education as a student-athlete at the College of Charleston. After completing dental school at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003, he moved to Boston and was accepted into the internationally-recognized Boston University Medical Center and Boston University School of Dental Medicine, where after four years of advanced training, Dr. Cherry completed his specialized training with a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
At that time, he met his wife, Dr. Lisa Cherry, while she was also completing dental training in the field of pediatric dentistry. For this reason, both Drs. Brian and Lisa Cherry are fond of the Boston area and go back to visit whenever possible.
After the completion of his specialized residency in Boston in 2007, Dr. Cherry moved back to South Carolina and started Cherry Orchard Oral & Implant Surgery, then in 2021, he and Lisa began Cherry Orchard Dental Specialists. Dr. Cherry is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon and belongs to a number of specialized oral surgery organizations on both local and national levels. He is currently the President of the South Carolina Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, as well as a member of the Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and serves on the Medical Staff at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital System for situations involving facial trauma.
In his free time, Dr. Cherry enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, including Lisa and their two children, Elizabeth and Connor. He also has a passion for sporting events, especially those involving golf and soccer. He feels privileged to be serving the oral surgery needs of patients across the Upstate and in the greater Greenville community, where he feels so deeply rooted, and strives to provide the most pleasant experience possible for all of his patients.

The staff is so great and welcoming but the Dr. not so much. I'm all for giving those the best advice for their health plan but his tone and lack of real concern wasn't there. It was more so "this is what needs to be done, ill help you if you have the money not but if not then go somewhere else." Which he did state word for word "My prices are my prices if you cant afford them then you need to go somewhere like Affordable Dentist". I think it was more of a money thing then real concern. I came in with a severe tooth infection and he told me I would be in the hospital by the weekend if I didn't get the teeth out the next day. He didn't prescribe any antibiotics or pain medication to fill at my pharmacy to help with the pain at my visit bc I didn't schedule my surgery for the next day. He literally sent me on my merry way. lol:) I can laugh about it now but I cried the whole time there & all the way home. Again the staff is amazing and are more concerned than the Doctor. Thankfully I was able to go to the hospital shortly after who were able to prescribe antibiotics and pain medication. They were also shocked he didn't prescribe anything to help considering this severity of the infection. I'm not here to say I have perfect teeth but also there are Dr./Dentist like so who intimidate people who are already self conscious about their teeth and they avoid dentist and go longer without treatment causing more damage. Luckily for me I wont let this get me down but this was definitely a sad experience for me. Tone, reassurance and concern go a long way.

We've had great experiences so far. Dr Cherry and her staff are very friendly, attentive, and professional. They are great with our exceedingly shy two year old. Dr Cherry has always communicated her plan of her care clearly to us which is very much appreciated. Highly recommend.

This staff is amazing. I had to urgently get my wisdom teeth out due to infection from growing in. Dr. Cherry and his staff were awesome. The procedure was so fast and I didn't even realize they put me under, before you know it I was done! The pain has been minimal so far with little complications. If you're looking for a place to get your wisdom teeth out, this is it!

After 4 or so years of putting off having the majority of my teeth removed, I finally had it done and couldn't have asked for a better group of people to help me through it. Dr. Cherry is amazing at what he does and a shout out to Katie for keeping me calm during the start of the procedure and being a friendly face for every visit so far. Thank you Dr. Cherry and crew.

It would be very hard for me to describe how scared I was of having my wisdom teeth removed, Dr. Cherry and his staff are amazing!! Very professional, informative, they were very patient with me and did a fantastic job during my surgery, their service truly is above and beyond, specially Miss Loren, she is super attentive and kind, welcoming and helpful, my only regret is not having my surgery sooner. Overall a great experience, highly recommended.

Dr Cherry... super efficient kind and professional... helped erase my fear!!! Loren.... So very nice and patient.... Also efficient in helping me with scheduling and insurance.... She is a super person to have in the front office.... Katie also so very nice and professional.... Had a wisdom tooth extraction, a sinus lift, and 2 bone grafts today, in preparation for dental implants. Two doctors, two assistants, a mess of tools (using his shoe, I'm fairly certain Dr. Cherry leveraged one against my chin at some point), and 3 short hours later - all was good. My only complaints are of the initial "pinch" of the local anesthetic administration, and that they wouldn't throw in a tummy-tuck while they were at it. (I'm rather fond of the new Hushpuppy impression on my cheek.) Kidding aside, Dr. Cherry was intense, well qualified, extremely capable, reasonably priced, informative, and efficient. The entire staff was focused, cordial, respectful, and very professional (despite their unwillingness to provide a tummy-tuck). Thank you! Loren

I got 2 wisdom teeth removed today, i was nervous bc of past experiences i had with getting teeth pulled. Dr Orchid and his staff are great ! They made me feel so safe. He goes bye the book when it comes to doing the procedures. It went by fast to me, I felt like I was alert the whole time but I wasn't lol bc what I remember I thought he was taking the tooth out still but he was doing my stitches . I wasn't too out of it afterwards . I had a great experience with them. My mouth is still numb at the moment and mouth isn't too painful at the moment. I would recommend anybody to go there!

Dr. Cherry is a professional surgeon. I chose to have my wisdom teeth removed at his office and could not be more please. Communication with the staff was great. They are corteous, clear, and professional. The initial study, surgery, and post operating care was exceptional. My recovery was very quick and painless. Based on my experience, I highly recommend the practice.

my first time coming here! I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed within like 45 minutes. I had the cutest nurse/dental assistant REBECCA! she was sooo sweet & made me feel comfortable the moment she walked me back. she kept it very professional, while trying to keep conversation with me before the procedure. lol & I remembered her name!!! rebeccaaaa but seriously she was awesome! this place has a good staff all around.
