Dr. John R. Nesiba is a triple board certified surgeon, who has devoted his life to medicine and surgery. He is both a licensed dentist and physician. He is a diplomate to the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, The American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and The American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
He earned his doctorate of dental surgery degree in 2009 from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry in Lincoln Nebraska. After graduating from dental school, he completed a 1-year internship at The University of Nebraska Medical Center where he gained extensive training in correcting jaw disharmonies. Following this year he spent 1-year at LSU, in New Orleans gaining extensive knowledge in facial cosmetic surgery and post traumatic facial reconstruction.
Dr. Nesiba then chose to pursue residency training at the Detroit Medical Center. During his 6 years in Detroit, Dr. Nesiba had extensive training in facial reconstruction, pathology of the jaws, orthognathic surgery, adult and pediatric anesthesia, as well as endosseous implant placement and wisdom tooth extraction. While in Detroit he also earned his Medical Degree from Wayne State University in 2015. During his residency, he completed a 1-year General Surgery Internship and served as Chief Resident for the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, at Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Eager to continue growing as a physician and a surgeon, Dr. Nesiba pursued further training and was chosen for the extremely competitive fellowship in General and Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Cosmetic Surgery Affiliates in Oklahoma City. During this year he completed over 1000 cosmetic surgical procedures. He also served as faculty at the Oklahoma University Medical Center, working with residents while they fulfilled their requirements for plastic surgery. Dr. Nesiba continues to practice cosmetic surgery at Flourish Surgical Arts, in Aurora Colorado.
Dr. Nesiba is a musical enthusiast attending numerous concerts every year and playing his guitar to the anyone who will listen. In his spare time, Dr. Nesiba enjoys spending time outdoors and behind the grill with his wife Dr. Pota Rakes (who he met in Dental School), his two daughters Angelina and Elleni, and his son Johnny. His family moved to Colorado in 2018 and is excited to call Colorado home.

Had a fabulous experience for my teenage daughter's wisdom teeth extraction (all 4). Dr. Nesibi and staff from the front desk receptionist to the nurses everyone was very nice and caring. The communication before hand via email to fill out forms and text messages for reminders were convenient. The explanation for billing and insurance was informative. Actual day of surgery went so smoothly. Appreciate all the help getting her in the car and the instructions post surgery. All the necessary prescriptions were quickly called in. Dr. Nesibi even called later the same day to check on her! We had a very positive experience and would highly recommend this practice! Thank you!

Overall, I had an amazing experience with my oral surgery and this office! The entire staff (receptionists, assistants, etc) was extremely friendly, caring, and patient. The doctor provided me with really detailed instructions that made my recovery process smooth and (mostly) painless, and he even called to check in on me after the surgery! Some of the best medical care I've ever received and I 100% recommend!

I had a great experience with the team at Cherry Creek Oral Surgery. Alyssa, Anna and Dr. Nesiba took great care with me, provided excellent pre and post surgery instructions and set expectations for my procedure (two extractions and a bone rebuild for implants). They communicated well with me and Dr. Nesiba even called me at the end of the day on the day of my surgery to make sure I was doing okay. I couldn't be more pleased and can, without reservation, recommend them.

My sister had been looking for a doctor who could help her with her teeth and no one was willing to book an appointment with her due to her condition but here at cherry creek oral & maxillofacial surgery had excepted my sister's condition and now she's getting her teeth well taken care of and we are so thankful they had excepted her thank you guys for all the hard work you put in !

I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing oral surgery! I got my wisdom teeth removed and was incredibly nervous but all the doctors and nurses were so kind, reassuring and knowledgeable. I truly felt like I was in good hands. Dr Nesiba and his staff were very informative and friendly. I needed a infected wisdom tooth removed and no other dentist would do it. I was in a lot of pain and Dr Nesiba seen me the same day. I cannot thank him our his team enough.

Dr. Nesiba knows how to take care of his patients, he listens and give immediate feedback on any concerns you may have about any procedure. It can be nerve wrecking to come in for any dental procedure, but Dr. Nesiba and his staff make you feel very at ease and confident in your visit. Great job guys!! 10/10 would recommend my family to come here

This was my first time at this dental office, and I was already anxious about the procedure (extraction). When I arrived, the front desk staff and the assistants were very kind and friendly. However, when I met the dentist, he was not friendly AT ALL. I was expecting for him to do the usual introduction, and explain the procedure, etc. He was very brief and impersonal with his explanation, and did not do anything to assure me or make me feel comfortable or relaxed (no bedside manner). While I was waiting for the Novocain, I was trying to relax, and had my hands up on my head. He snapped at me to "put my arms down!" This only added to my anxiety. Once I was numbed up, and they were getting the tools prepped and started looking inside my mouth, I raised my hand slightly to signal that I needed just a moment to take a few deep breaths before they began. He then snapped at me "I need you to get it together - I will not have you ruin my day or my schedule!" as he walked away. I was absolutely shocked. I was in tears and numb (literally) and I got up and left. I couldn't believe how unprofessional he was! I was the first patient of the day, so I don't know what happened to make him act that way, or if he's always like that. No matter what happened, there's no excuse to act so rudely. I debated writing this review, however this experience was so upsetting, that I feel like it needs to be shared.

Went to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed the staff and Dr was so kind in explaining everything to me in a detailed manner. Especially Anna the assistant who answered all my questions about the anesthesia and after care.

I couldn't be happier with my experience getting my wisdom teeth removed with Dr. Nesiba. I was EXTREMELY nervous about getting all 4 of mine out in my early 30s as I had heard some horror stories. After my initial consultation though, I decided it was better to proceed instead of waiting until things got worse. My surgery literally took 45 minutes and my medicine was ready to pick up at the pharmacy by the time I left the office. I had a smooth recovery - Dr. Nesiba did an excellent job + I followed my medication regimen strictly. I really didn't have much pain at all. Most of the discomfort in recovery was sticking to a liquid diet for 1-2 weeks and constantly cleaning out my mouth until the holes close up. 100% recommend Cherry Creek Oral Surgery. I did a lot of diligence and am very happy with my decision!
