I cant imagine not doing dentistry. I truly enjoy the cosmetics and tooth replacement (implant) part of dentistry. But I also enjoy the relationships built by having families in our office. As a young girl growing up in Clarkesville, Georgia, Dr. Cheek loved visits with her hometown dentist. Since second grade, she knew she wanted to be a dentist and provide her own patients with great experiences.

After graduating from Mercer University in 1992, Dr. Cheek became a dental assistant and was accepted into the dental program at the Medical College of Georgia where she earned her DMD degree and graduated first in her class. During her two-year associateship with a large practice in Sugar Hill, Dr. Cheek became interested in opening her own dental practice. In 2002 she moved to East Cobb, acquired a practice from a retiring dentist, and opened Cheek Dental.

Helping patients maintain or achieve a healthy, beautiful smile for a lifetime is my mantra. But I also know when to say a tooth is too far gone and an implant would last longer or give a better esthetic or functional result. With CEREC crowns, I feel that I can be much more conservative than with traditional porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns that we placed in years past. I can do onlays and conservative crowns and leave a margin in the middle of the buccal surface, and it will be undetectable.

Our hygienists, assistants, and doctors heavily stress the patients role in maintaining their teeth with oral hygiene. I also believe that form follows function. Gods design leads to a beautiful result. If you put the bone and the teeth where they should be functionally, you will end up with beautiful aesthetics. If you focus on aesthetics only and proper function is not addressed, you will soon lose the aesthetics as teeth break. During our comprehensive exam, we evaluate oral soft tissues, the health of the periodontium (tissue that surrounds and supports teeth), the TMJs, and occlusion. And we note any signs of sleep-disordered breathing because all of these can affect the end result when restorations are being placed.

Dr. Cheek and her husband, Ron have two sons, Davis and Walker, and a daughter, Grayson. After Davis was born, they adopted Walker, who has special needs. Walker loves dogs, so the family adopted two dogs, Sasha and Humperdink. Both pets are excellent companions to all of the children. The family lives in Roswell, and they are members of Northpoint Community Church where Dr. Cheek and Ron are small-group leaders.The family also enjoys camping in the spring and fall, hiking, and boating on the lake.

Dr. Chandler always knew she wanted to work in the healthcare field, but she thought she would become a physician. While attending the University of Georgia where she earned dual bachelor of science degrees in biology and genetics, she volunteered in the dental clinic at Mercy Health Center, as well as in local dental offices. Seeing patients smiles and lives transformed through dentistry helped her realize that she really wanted to be a dentist. She attended the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry and earned her DMD degree in 2011, graduating in the top of her class.

Dr. Chandler has practiced family and cosmetic dentistry in metro Atlanta since 2011. In 2016, when she and her husband found out they were expecting a baby, she decided to leave that practice and join Cheek Dental. She particularly enjoys working with Dr. Cheek because they share the same vision for serving others through dentistry.

I want to earn the trust of my patients by being respectful of their time, listening to their concerns, opinions, and desires for their smile, including them in the development of their treatment plan, and tailoring the plan accordingly. I examine and diagnose patients in a gentle and courteous manner and work in conjunction with my staff to educate patients on their condition and the plan to restore optimal dental health.

Both the hygienists and I spend time with patients discussing oral hygiene, diet, and behavioral changes that can help prevent dental issues in the future. Both aesthetics and function are important, and there must be balance. I value preserving healthy tooth structure and always try to be as conservative as possible while still achieving the aesthetic and functional goals of the patient.

Dr. Chandler is originally from Snellville, Georgia. When shes not creating beautiful smiles, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Hunter,and daughter, Emily. They enjoy fun activities with Emily including visits to the park, zoo, beach, or aquarium. Dr. Chandler also enjoys trying new restaurants and spending time with extended family and friends.

Dr. Brice worked every summer from age 9 until age 20 in his mothers orthodontic practice. With each passing year, he became keenly aware of the profound positive impact excellent dental care provides its patients. His passion was driven further as he began to appreciate that dentistry provides the unique opportunity to blend science and art to create lasting results with outstanding aesthetics.

Dr. Brice recently moved to the Roswell/Marietta area with his fiance Emma, who is an elementary music educator. They met at University of South Carolina where they connected over a shared interest in music, art, and nature. We are grateful they chose to begin their future together in our area.

So many people have an inherent fear of going to the dentist, he says. One of my favorite challenges of dentistry is helping my patients understand that dentistry doesnt have to be terrifying or painful. You can deliver quality care with a gentle, compassionate style that generates confidence from your patients. This becomes the foundation for building lasting, trustworthy relationships while enhancing and even changing lives in unimagined positive ways.

The Doctor-Patient relationship is at the core of excellent dental care. This relationship is based upon commitment, respect, education, and understanding. Dentistry in nature is cooperative and relies on group effort and commitment from both the provider and the patient. Its easier to let a friend look around your mouth than a stranger, and thats why it is important that I can relate to my patients and that they can relate to me. My treatment philosophy is built around prevention and preservation with an emphasis on patient education. Patient education is critical, and learning why and how to care for our mouths is the foundation of successful and lasting treatment. That being said, there is a certain beauty to the restorative side of dentistry that defines the artist within the practitioner. A beautiful smile can change a life. Theres a smile in every first impression, every relationship, every career. Aesthetics are extremely important in dentistry and are an emphasis of my restorative approach. The same is true of function, which walks hand in hand with aesthetics and sets the foundation on which beauty is built.

Dentistry is a practice, and dentists are always in the pursuit of practical betterment and the refinement of quality. I am motivated every day by the desire to make a difference in peoples lives and achieve my maximum potential as a health practitioner. I have spent years honing my style of communication to provide ease and accessibility to my patients across all ages and backgrounds. I know that I provide a special service within a profession of special services, and it is my goal to offer this service to my patients.

Kathy has been one of the hygienists on our fantastic team for many years. She looks forward to coming to work each day because she knows she can provide exceptional care in an office that is technologically advanced and has a group of ladies that genuinely care about each other and the patients.

Kathys career spans over 30 years and began at St. Petersburg College. Through numerous hours of continuing education and research within her profession, with a kind and caring demeanor, she will provide you with excellent dental care. She and her husband live in Marietta and have two brilliant kids who have recently completed their college educations and begun careers in the Atlanta area.

Meleah makes your oral health, as well as your comfort, her top priorities. She received her dental hygiene degree from Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody, GA, graduating with honors. While in school, she was named a Thomas P. Hinman scholar, an award given to only the top-performing students in the class. She continually strives to discover better ways to treat her patients more effectively and has a strong passion for learning.

Allison is a Georgia native, born and raised in the small town of Adairsville. Her interest in dentistry began at a young age, and after high school, she attended Savannah Technical College where she received her registered dental hygienist degree and graduated at the top of her class. She was chosen by the dean of her school to receive the Thomas P. Hinman scholarship, an award given to only one or two of the top-performing hygiene students in each graduating class.

Allison continues to grow and learn as a dental hygienist by staying current with the latest information and technology through continuing education. Her main goal is educating patients on the connection between oral health and overall health. She lives in Alpharetta with her husband and two dogs. Her passions include her family, animal rescue, hiking, and travel.

Jordan was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Marietta, GA when she was seven years old. She grew up with six siblings. She graduated from Walton High School, attended Georgia Southern University, and received her certificate in dental assisting from The Dental Staff School in Marietta in 2014.

Jordans interest in dentistry began after observing one of her family members at work in a local dental office. She instantly felt a connection to the patients and had a desire to be a part of a dental practice where she could feel the same excitement for her work every day. Jordan is always smiling and has a passion for helping our patients and growing in her knowledge of dental assisting as evidenced by the extensive continuing education courses she has taken.

Luana is a dental assistant and clinical flow manager. Originally from Brazil, Luana moved to Georgia at the age of 11. She attended Pebblebrook High School, a performing arts magnet school. After obtaining a technical specialist certification, she then received a bachelor of science in psychology while taking pre-dental courses and serving as the lead neuroscience lab coordinator at her school. She additionally acquired her dental assisting certification. Luana loves how art and science, two of her passions, are perfectly blended in dentistry.

Brittney was born in Marietta, the youngest of two siblings. Her parents are Canadian. When Brittney was still a toddler, she and her family returned to Canada. After 5 years of enjoying northern life, they decided to move back to the warm state of Georgia and made it their permanent home.

Brittney graduated from Allatoona High School and went on to attend Reinhardt University. She then received her Dental Assistant Certificate from Atlanta Dental School in Kennesaw, completing expanded duties training as well. Brittney is excited about the opportunity to continue her education while working with Dr. Cheek and Dr. Chandler.

During her free time, Brittney enjoys playing tennis, golf, and volleyball and spending time with her two adorable nephews. She and her fianc, Spencer, are animal lovers who love spoiling her Morkie named Dude, who is her shadow.

Jennifer will likely be one of the first team members from the office you will speak with or meet. She will assist with your insurance claims and financial questions, and because of her years of experience in dentistry in both front office duties and as a dental assistant, she can answer almost any question you have about your treatment. Getting to know you personally and treating our patients like family is of utmost importance to Jennifer!

Jennifer is a small-town girl who grew up in Ringgold, Georgia, just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor of social work degree and received a master of social work degree from the University of Tennessee. She worked in dental offices in Texas and Tennessee before finally coming back home to Georgia. She and her husband, Cliff, are parents of three sweet girls!

Kelly strives to make your dental visit pleasant and efficient from the moment you arrive at the front desk until you leave our office. Kelly maintains our schedule and ensures that our patients are scheduled and cared for in a timely manner. She has been in the dental field for over ten years and enjoys working with our family of patients on a daily basis.
