I have been under Dr. Cheetams care for the past 14 years, and my older siblings have been going to him for longer than that. Not only is he a great Dentist but also a great man. He does very thorough work, with a great attitude. Him and his staff are top notch. Would highly recommend him to any parent.

Dr. Cheatham and his office staff are amazing! We had a great experience with a tooth extraction for our 4 year old from an old injury. He was so good with my son. We will be taking all three kids there for their routine cleanings from now on.

Have always had a great experience with Dr. Cheatham and his staff. He is always incredibly patient with my kids and explains exactly what he is doing so they are not frightened. My son knocked out one of his front teeth when he was 3. The clinic was closing at the time we called, but Dr. Cheatham stayed after hours until we could get there from Norman to treat my son. Unfortunately, my son needed oral surgery, but we knew he was in excellent hands with Dr. Cheatham!

EXTREMELY disappointing and frustrating experience with both Dr. Cheatham and staff. Our dentist who sees our entire family including other children, and who my 4 year old son has seen every 6 months since he was 3, recommended we find a pediatric dentist because my son had some decay needing treatment on his back teeth. We decided to try Dr. Cheatham. Without seeing the x-rays our dentist took, he recommended 4 crowns for my sons teeth, two nerve treatments, and a few fillings. Dr. Cheatham said the decay was based on diet - sugar intake and bad nutrition. We aren't perfect however our children's diet is important to us and we try to keep it balanced. I was trying to process this singular news while we discussed that it would take several treatments and trips due to areas needing to be treated on both sides of the mouth. We left to go home and several days later received paperwork from our dental insurance company outlining the treatment plan and costs. I found this shocking due to the fact, Dr. Cheathams office had never seen x-rays, yet they had already turned in the plan to my dental insurance? In the meantime I did a lot of research regarding cavities and crowns and found a lot of information stating that diet is only one of the many factors in tooth decay. Fluoride, amount of fluid intake, flossing, genetics, and many other factors come in to play NOT just diet. In sharing how uncomfortable I was made to feel I was told by many people including my dentist to get second opinions. I went ahead and sent the xrays over to Dr. Cheatham's office in order to get the treatment plan from him after actually having seen them. I was curious to see if what he told me would change with actual xrays in hand. Miranda called me back to tell me they found another cavity in the xrays. When I asked for the treatment plan and costs in writing she replied I would need to schedule the appointments before they could file for the cost from insurance. (my insurance must be psychic) She also told me that my son would need to have outpatient surgery under anesthesia to be treated. I replied I had never had that conversation with Dr. Cheatham, we had discussed three visits, and that I was not comfortable with my son being put under anesthesia three times to be treated. She curtly and condescendingly replied "YOU ARE NOT listening to what I am saying, it would be one treatment." Who talks to a customer that way when delivering sensitive news? Especially a mother trying to understand why her son went from having decay on back teeth, to three treatments, to surgery?! I was merely trying to grasp everything they were saying. It's not what she said but THE WAY she was talking to me was belittling and shocking. I let her know during that conversation, I didn't appreciate the way I was being talked to, and asked to speak to someone who could help me. When Dr. Cheatham got on the phone I let him know that I would be taking my son to another dentist due to the way our family had been treated by both he and his staff on two separate occasions. NEVER would I let my son be worked on by his incredibly cold staff who were in definite need of some empathy and customer service training. He informed me he would be happy to mark my sons file inactive, and hung up. I'm absolutely shocked at the way this dentist's office treats people. I was horrified when I went to write this review and saw how many similar experiences others have had. Your family and children deserve someone who wants to partner with you - we are all just doing the very best we can. Dr. Cheatham's office is extremely lacking. **** follow up to this review. We went to Dr. Garzon's pediatric dentistry office today and I am proud to say - our son will be treated for 2 (not 4) crowns, and 3 cavities. No surgery needed. I hope this will serve as a reminder to all of us to do our own due diligence and research on treatment plans, and to trust your own gut instincts. Apparently there are many professionals who don't mind turning a profit off unneeded treatments - even on children.

Both of my kids had to have some work done. My son had to have a major filling and 2 extractions. Dr Cheatham kept blaming too much carb intake even though we don't buy soda or keep a lot of candy or sweets in our house, but somehow it was still presented to be my fault even though I've tried to do everything I can to keep my kids' healthy... I came here because of insurance, but I'll be going elsewhere in the future. He makes a lot of assumptions about your home, and makes you feel like a complete failure as a parent even if your kid has a parent or family history of dental issues... he doesn't take genetics into consideration. Most of the staff is nice, but he chastised me for sitting back with my daughter while my son was sitting up front resting after his procedure. I didn't have anyone else with me, and I wanted so badly to split myself in 2 but I felt like I wasn't being fair to my daughter and was showing favoritism if I hadn't gone back with her. If they'd had any sitting in the back I would've brought him back with me, but they don't... I had to stand in the room to be with my kids during their procedures. He made me feel like I was the worst mom ever for something I couldn't explain with "dietary habits," that I'm actually aware of and he is not, and for wanting to be with my daughter during her procedure... The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the staff is nice and at least my kids' procedures are done, but we'll be going elsewhere for their next 6 month appointment.

I didn't like his condescending attitude with his staff. Most of all I didn't like that when he hurt my daughter he told her to stop it it didn't really hurt. He also seemed to jab our insurance for money wanting to do unnecessary work! Super disappointed!!!!!!!

EXTREMELY disappointed in his practice today. My son was scheduled to have two baby teeth extracted as requested by our orthodontist and Dr. Cheatham. After administering sleepy gas and the numbing shots, he asked me if I was sure I wanted to have him do the extraction. Of course I was shocked he would ask ME since he is the Doctor and suggested the treatment in his office. This is all after being in the chair for over 30 minutes. Of course I did not have him remove the teeth after his statements. Why would he put my 9 year old son through that only to ask me if I was sure. My son went home completely numb on the top and bottom. I will find a true pediatric dentist and never recommend him to anyone. One more important thing to mention - he tried to tell me he had not ever extracted a tooth or any other procedure of this type on my son when in fact he had removed another baby tooth along with other procedures. After looking at my sons chart he agreed with me, but pretty scary if you ask me.

When my son was 5, we had a negative experience at a dentist and he didn't want to go back. I found Dr. Cheatham and he was understanding, compassionate, and kind. My son is now 14 and has had several oral surgeries and a lot of dental and orthodontic work done with no fear. Had it not been for Dr. Cheatham, I truly believe my son would not have been able to make it through all of that with peace of mind. All of my children see Dr. Cheatham and all of them love the dentist. He is very knowledgeable and always puts his patients first. I recommend Dr. Cheatham to everyone needing a pediatric dentist.
