Dental implants are small titanium screws that are placed into the jawbone, replacing the lost tooth root. Once the implants are surgically anchored and fully healed, replacement teeth, such as a crown, bridge, or other restoration, can be placed on top. These replacement teeth look and feel just like your natural teeth.
Often, unhealthy teeth may need extraction before dental implant placement. Dr. Felts and Dr. Randall typically recommend IV sedation, ensuring you do not feel pain and do not remember the details of your surgical experience. If needed, our doctors will perform bone grafting to ensure the socket is an ideal place to anchor a dental implant.
Dental implant placement is usually a relatively short procedure and may be performed with IV sedation to eliminate any discomfort. The implants are carefully positioned in the appropriate sockets, then left for roughly three months to heal in place, ensuring their long-term health and stability.
If you receive an immediate implant, you will have your extraction and implant placement performed on the same day and leave the office with a temporary replacement tooth. You will need to visit your regular dentist once the implants are anchored in place, at which time the natural-looking replacement teeth will be positioned onto the implants.

Chattanooga dentist, Dr. Felts, graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1974, earning his bachelors degree in Chemistry. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from theUniversity of Tennessee, Center for the Health Sciences, in Memphis, Tennessee in 1977. He received his Certificate of General Practice Residency from St. Francis Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1978. He then attended the School of Dentistry at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, earning his Clinical Certification in Periodontics and receiving his Master of Science in Dentistry in 1980. He became a Diplomate of theAmerican Board of Periodontologyin 1988.
Dr. Felts is active in many dental professional organizations, including The American Dental Association and The American Academy of Periodontology. He is past president of the Tennessee Society of Periodontists (1991-93). He has been a Board Member and Officer of the Southern Academy of Periodontology for over 10 years and served as President of this group in 2000-2001. Dr. Felts has also been very active in the Tennessee Dental Association and local Chattanooga Area Dental Society. He served as President of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society (1997-98) and the Tennessee Dental Association (2013-14).
Dr. Felts has given numerous lectures on periodontics, and is published in several journals. He has held teaching positions at the University of Washington and Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
In addition to being a leading dentist in Chattanooga, TN, Dr. Felts has been a member of several community groups, including the Boy Scouts of America, where he was an Executive Board Member and Middle Valley Recreational Association where he coached in the Soccer Program. He is a member of First Centenary United Methodist Church. He has been married to Suzanne Trundle Felts since 1984; they have three married children; Beth, Charlie, and Robert, and six grandsons: Royce, Harrison, Charles, Emerson, Franklin, and Forrest.
Dr. Elizabeth Beth Felts Randall is a Chattanooga native, who grew up loving the Scenic City. Currently, she serves as the Chairman of the Tennessee New Dentist Committee and is an active member of the Chattanooga Area Dental Society and Tennessee Dental Society of Periodontists, Southern Academy of Periodontology, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Dr. Randall attended Baylor High School and then accepted a golf scholarship at the University of Kentucky. There, she was named the 2012 Southeastern Conference Womens Golf Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year.Dr. Randall continued her education in the bluegrass country, graduating from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 2012. Here, she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with high distinction, confirming her passion for the field of Periodontology. She then attended a three-year Periodontology residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The program included world-class training in dental implants, periodontal treatment, soft tissue grafting, bone grafting, and sedation procedures. Dr. Randall also completed her Master of Science degree in 2015, focusing on some of the newest trends in dental implant designs.
In 2015, Dr. Randall returned to her hometown of Chattanooga to begin practicing at Chattanooga Periodontics & Dental Implants. Shortly after, she achieved her Board of Periodontology Certification and received her Diplomate status (2016).
Outside of work, Dr. Randall enjoys spending time with her husband Ken, and two sons: Harrison and Franklin. They enjoy all types of outdoor activities including running, swimming, hiking, and grilling out. They are also members of First Centenary United Methodist Church.

Specifically called to verify LASER Frenectomy offered, on their website as offering, waited months to get daughter to Consult & this is False Advertising- they don't even offer it and tried to discourage it as bad and convince her to do scissors procedure instead, which she cannot for medical reasons, which Is why specifically made appt with inquiry to verify they dod LASER procedure! So angry at the waste of all that time and the consultation fee we should not have paid! Nice staff, dishonest advertising and false confirmation for appt. Now my daughter is afraid of the Laser procedure because they said it would cause bump under tongue.

Ok first of all i just have to say this place saved me from being in so much pain today and not to mention i am terrified of being at the dentist and the staff put all my worries to rest! Not only did they help my tooth pain but they did it all in the same day! I am truly amazed how much they cared, broke everything down into terms i could understand, and worked with me financially! I would give this place 10 stars if i could! I went to 2 different dentists before this one and now i will never go anywhere else! I just want to thank Mr. FELTs AND HIS AMAZING STAFF! thanks again for helping me!

Ok first of all i just have to say this place saved me from being in so much pain today and not to mention i am terrified of being at the dentist and the staff put all my worries to rest! Not only did they help my tooth pain but they did it all in the same day! I am truly amazed how much they cared, broke everything down into terms i could understand, and worked with me financially! I would give this place 10 stars if i could! I went to 2 different dentists before this one and now i will never go anywhere else! I just want to thank Mr. FELTs AND HIS AMAZING STAFF! thanks again for helping me!

We had a great experience here today for a checkup on my daughters gums due to being allergic to her braces. We found out my daughter was allergic to the nickle in braces about 6 months after she got them on (almost 3 years ago). It has caused the gums to grow a lot especially around the braces. We were referred to this office by our normal dentist. Luckily they were great and wanted to make sure we didn't spend extra money that was unnecessary. Luckily she will only have to have a deep clean and no laser unnecessary surgery after her braces come off. We are excited about this! If you are allergic to fake earring than you are allergic to nickle which is in braces. Life lesson for sure!
