Dr. Hunter L. Charvet received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans. He then went on to graduate with his DDS degree from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1980. After graduating, he joined his father, Dr. Emile J. Charvet in private practice.
Each year, Dr. Hunter completes well over one hundred hours of advanced dental continuing education. He has completed extensive advanced training in the areas of Implant Dentistry and Endodontics. Dentistry is constantly advancing and continuing dental education allows him to stay on top of the latest dental techniques and technology, and provide our patients with the advanced care they deserve.
Dr. Hunter L. Charvet Jr., DDS, following in his fathers footsteps, received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University. He then attended Louisiana State University School of Dentistry where he graduated with his DDS degree. During his freshman year at LSU School of Dentistry he served as class vice president. After graduating in May of 2009, he joined his father in private practice.
Dr. Hunter Jr. is a member in good standing in the New Orleans Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association and American Dental Association. He is also a voting member of The New Orleans Dental Association House of Delegates
During school, Dr. Hunter Jr. was a volunteer at Camp Sunshine, a program for children with life threatening illnesses. He is currently on the board of directors for the Swollfest Fishing Rodeo, a benefit for the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Hunter Jr. and his wife Kristy have three happy boys, Hunter the Third, and twins Chandler and Carter. Like his father, Dr. Hunter Jr. is an avid outdoorsmen with free diving being one of his favorite activities.

I came to Dr. Charvet Jr. for Invisalign and had an excellent experience. The staff and Dr. were friendly, and my teeth look fantastic. Loved the experience so much, I'm now using Dr. Charvet Jr. to also take care of all my dental needs.

Dr. Charvet is the absolute best dentist I've ever been to. I've had extensive work done over the past three years after not going to a dentist for years. Every procedure has gone smoothly and with no pain whatsoever. He has a great bedside manner. His staff is also amazing. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for an exceptional dentist. He's the best!!!

All of my experiences at this office have been great. I transferred here after some bad treatments with previous dentists and I have been so impressed thus far. My cleaning hygienist was great and listened to all of my needs. I'm now halfway through a dental implant and everything has gone smoothly. The staff always makes you feel comfortable and the office has been clean every visit. Dr. Charvet is fantastic and so easy to talk to. I am so happy I made the switch to this dental office and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new dentist!

I have been a patient 10+ years and Charvet Dental is the absolute best! A true family business, the office is clean, calm, and everyone is a pleasure. The docs are always up-to-date on the latest technologies and state of the art treatments, but will never try to upsell you. Shelley, my long-time hygienist, is a pro and the sweetest, most friendly person ever. I have since moved out of state and STILL come to Charvet, I refuse to go anywhere else!

I can absolutely say that Charvet Dental Center deserves five stars! I was one that would never go to the Dentist because I had such terrible experiences. Dr. Charvet and Hygienist Shelley Roberts took extremely great care of me and made me feel comfortable and relaxed, constantly asking and making sure I was okay during any procedures. The staff members are always extremely professional and courteous. I cannot express how grateful I am to Dr. Charvet and especially Shelley for always taking such great care of me.

I highly recommend Dr. Charvet. I had two teeth need to do root canals and crown. The whole process was very smooth. Dr. charvet Jr has excellent skills and he handled my teeth carefully and professionally. There is no any pain through the process. The office stuff are all very nice. Their insurance coordinator Nancy is a big help. She helps the customers to work out the insurance plan and out of pocket money. She is very professional as well. Overall, that's the place you should go for taking care of your teeth.

I went to multiple dentists before pulling the trigger on fixing my tooth. Dr. Charvet was the only one to explain to me my options rather then just going for the more expensive solution (root canal). I highly recommend Dr. Charvet.

Kelda Swigart, registered dental hygienist, is the best. She has provided exceptional dental care my entire life. I first met her in 1982. She kept my teeth healthy for nearly a decade. I rediscovered her in 2009 and she and the great staff at Charvet have continued to keep my teeth healthy. Great staff, friendly dentists, very personable. You will not be disappointed.

Dr. Charvet Jr. is outstanding. He is absolutely great with children and managed to fill a cavity for my son without him realizing exactly what was being done (while also keeping me fully informed as to what was being done). I highly recommend Dr. Charvet for both adults and children. His staff is professional, and I have never had much wait time when going to appointments.

I had to get the 2 crowns in the front of my mouth replaced (from an unfortunate incident 47 years ago). Hunter was SO gentle getting out the old ones and putting in the temporary replacements. My smile has been improved 100% already, so I can't wait to see how gorgeous the new permanent crowns will look! Talk about "getting your smile back"! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Dr charvet Jr. is the best Dentist my family has ever been to. I have two small boys 6 and 7 they love going to see him. My oldest son had several cavities to fill his patience and understanding were exceptional. He trusted him so much and was so at ease that he didn't even need shots to numb his gums. I would highly recommend Dr. Charvet Jr. to any and all. We love their office!!!

I was in search of a new dentist and was referred to Charvet Dental by a friend.....very friendly and welcoming staff as you walk in. The waiting area is very clean and comfortable, although you won't spend much time there as they are prompt in getting you to the back! The Hygienist and dentist are very thorough and explain everything that is going on or could arise with your teeth!! Highly recommend Charvet Dental!!!!

Started coming here about two years ago and always have a great experience. Alyssa is always super sweet and very accommodating at the front desk! I recommend this place 10/10. Nancy and Dr. Charvet Jr. do great work and can educate on proper dental care.

was Able to get in very quickly to have a seriously painful cracked tooth pulled, I have always had the Dentist Anxiety but Dr. Charvet & the staff really were great!
