Though all orthodontists are dentists, only about six percent of dentists are orthodontists. Dr. Chartier earned this distinction by completing a 36-month residency program in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopedics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. There he was awarded his Orthodontic Specialty Certificate. He then took it one step further by becoming board certified. Dr. Chartier is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an honor achieved through a written exam followed by an independent expert review of actual treated patients. In addition to Diplomate status, Dr. Chartier is an adjunct clinical faculty member at the University of Minnesotas Orthodontic Clinic.
Dr. Chartier grew up in central Missouri and central Oklahoma before attending the University of New Mexico, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in microbiology and ecology. In addition, Dr. Chartier achieved numerous honors as a member of the UNM Mens Swim Team. After graduating from UNM in 2000, Dr. Chartier attended dental school at the University of Missouri Kansas City, where he was awarded his Doctoral of Dental Surgery. Upon completion, he proceeded to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, for a 12-month residency at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic. At the conclusion of his residency, he was awarded an Advanced Education in General Dentistry certificate. He then continued on to Philadelphia, PA, to begin a 36-month residency program in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopedics at the Albert Einstein Medical Center. After receiving his orthodontic specialty certificate, Dr. Chartier started his own office in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, as well as a satellite office in Santa Fe, prior to moving to Minnesota and opening Chartier Orthodontics downtown Chanhassen.

My experience at chartier orthodontist had been amazing. I'm always greeted with a smile and the atmosphere is always positive. Whoever is working on me that day is always friendly and the staff want to get to know their patients. Appointments are always efficient and they will communicate what you need to do to get through your treatment in the shortest time possible with the best results. I'm very pleased with my new smile and I strongly recommend chartier orthodontist for anyone starting braces!

My family was referred to Chartier Orthodontics by our child's Pediatric Dentist and Chartier Orthodontics has been wonderful to work with. Each question/concern was kindly and quickly addressed during my 2 year process. I requested that my teeth be moved slowly because I was concerned about recession and bone loss and I also wanted to adjust a back molar because the inside of my cheek would get pinched when chewing on food. I'm happy with my new smile and gladly recommend Chartier Orthodontics.

If your looking for orthodontic work I highly recommend Chartier orthodontics. They are super nice and friendly and their office is updated with video games, magazines and toys for kids in the waiting room. Dr. Jacob and his team are friendly and super efficient. I was even ahead of schedule to get my braces off. Highly recommend.

Our family highly recommends Chartier Orthodontics. The location is conveniently located and everyone at the practice is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Chartier is forthcoming with the immediate and long term care plan and communicates with the kids and parents to ensure everyone understands the plan and any adjustments along the way. They also did a fantastic job making the necessary adjustments for covid to continue providing safe care to their patients.

When we first moved to MN 4 years ago the first week my top permanent retainer broke. Knowing zero people and obviously zero doctors in the area. I called around to get estimates and needed in a-sap. Dr. Chartier was immediately accommodating and the most reasonably priced for the job. Immediate good impression. Fast fwd a few years later my son needs braces and bc of his exceptional customer service I took my son to Chartier Orthodontics. He is very knowledgeable, friendly atmosphere, works with your schedule, doesn't nickel and dime for every adjustment or need. He is a top notch doctor. I've recommended this practice to many friends.

Love, love, love Chartier Orthodontics. Dr. Chartier is honest, straightforward, a genuinely kind man who is wonderful with kids/teens. Not only do my kids now have straight, beautiful smiles but he was also able to remove some white spots that my son had on his front teeth. His teeth are now a uniform color and it was a quick, and painless process. My daughter (age 16) has sensitivity issues and a super strong gag reflex so she is not your "typical patient." He is marvelous with her and she looks forward to her visits - he always makes her laugh. He has made special trips after hours to the office to adjust something for her since it was bothering her. Not sure how many doctors would do that.

Such a great place! Friendly and knowledgeable with a very comfortable atmosphere. This was my second go around with braces and I am very happy with my results. I will be bringing my kids when they are ready for straight teeth!
