Dr. Stump graduated from the Indiana School of Dentistry in 2010. He graduated with a Research Honors Certificate and was inducted to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society. From there he completed his 2 year pediatric dental residency at the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and served as his program's Chief Resident. After residency he and his wife (Lauren Stump, D.D.S.), moved to Charlottesville. He joined Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry in 2012. In his spare time he loves hiking, biking, and running in the Blue Ridge. You can see him most weekends along the Rivanna River enjoying the outdoors with his family.
A Richmond, Virginia native, Dr. Taylor Smith DDS earned an undergraduate degree in Biology at theUniversity of Virginia. He then returned to his hometown of RVA to complete his dental education at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. After Dental School, he completed his pediatric and special needs residency at the renowned Childrens Hospital Colorado, where he served as the programs Chief Resident.
In his spare time, you can find Dr. Smith and his wife, Courtney, enjoying live music at the Pavilion or dinner at their favorite restaurant, The Local. Dr. Smith is an avid UVA sports fan and was lucky enough to get tickets to see the UVA Mens Basketball team win their first-ever national championship. Go Hoos! Dr. Smith also enjoys hiking, skiing, fly fishing, camping, and basically doing anything in the outdoors.
Dr. Dixon grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and graduated from Salem High School in 1995. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1999, from The College of William and Mary, where she majored in Biology, minored in Chemistry. In 2003, she graduated cum laude from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. Dr. Dixon continued her education at MCV, where she earned her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry and her Master of Science degree in 2005. Dr. Dixon is a recipient of the prestigious Richard Pugh Award. She was recognized at the 2006 Annual American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry Meeting for scoring in the top 3% in the country on her Pediatric Board Exam.
Dr. Dixon is happily married to her high school sweetheart, Mark S. Dixon. Dr. Dixon and her husband are the loving parents of Kate and Emma. In her spare time, Dr. Dixon enjoys cooking, entertaining family and friends, and taking her daughters on playdates.
Dr. Dixon did her undergraduate dental research in the Department of Oral Craniofacial Molecular Biology. Her research was titled The Genetic Analysis of Streptococcus parasanguis fim A. The focus of this research was to develop a vaccine to help protect patients against developing bacterial endocarditis.
Dr. Dixons masters thesis was on Childs Temperament and Conscious Sedation Outcomes. Her work in sedation dentistry has enabled her to understand and appreciate the unique relationship between child temperament and sedation outcomes.
Brooke has been working with us since 2017. She has a degree in history from Virginia Commonwealth University. Brooke enjoys spending time with her husband Bud, and their two sons, Kaleo and Kemper. In her spare time, she loves to garden as well as snowboard at Snow Shoe and wakeboard at Smith Mountain Lake.
Lia has been working with us since 2019. She has a degree in psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she lived for over 7 years before returning to the East Coast. In her free time Lia loves hanging out with her husband David and their three cats, Libby, Rigatoni and Ravioli. She and her husband are passionate about animals and plan to adopt many more rescues throughout their lives.
Carestin has been working with us since 2015. Carestin enjoys spending her spare time with her husband and high school sweetheart, Kentry and their son Hutton. She also loves spending time with her two adorable dogs, Rocco and Oakley.
Yessi has been working with us since 2019. Yessi enjoys spending time with her husband, Ivan, and her Chihuahua, China. In her spare time, Yessi loves hanging out with family at their cookouts, as well as trips to the beach.
Allyson has been working with us since 2020, but has been in the dental field since 2011. Outside of work Allyson loves spending time with her three children, Landon, Lyla, and Lydia and they keep her busy! She also loves spending time outdoors with family and friends.
Taylor has been working with us since 2020. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, their two kids, Walker and Gracelynn and their dogs, Dixie and Moto. In her spare time Taylor loves participating in all kinds of outdoor activities.
Amber has been working with us since 2020. Amber lives in Charlottesville with her husband Zack and dog Cooper. She enjoys spending her free time at local wineries as well as trying new restaurants and hanging out with her family.
Megan has been working with us since 2020. She has a degree in Education from James Madison University. Megan enjoys spending time with her husband Joe and their son Paxton. In her spare time, she enjoys playing board games, reading, and boating at Lake Anna.
Rhonda has been working with us since 2020. Rhonda enjoys spending time with her husband Frank, her Mom, and her two kitties Gracie and Boggie. In her spare time she loves crafting and exploring new places around Charlottesville.
Lori has been working with us since 2021. She enjoys spending time with her husband Aaron and two children, daughter Mackenzie, and son, Drewry. She also enjoys spending time with her multitude of animals that include dogs, cats, reptiles & chickens. Lori loves taking short trips with her family, reading, crafting and camping around the blue ridge mountains.
Sara has been working with us since 2021. She returned to Charlottesville in 2020 after living in San Diego, California for many years. Sara loves to travel, especially to the beach or to explore around the mountains. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her kitties, Vader and Sabrina. Most of all she loves spending time with her two nieces, Henley and Arrow.
Rachel has been working with us since 2021. Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband Austin and their chocolate lab, Sadie. In her spare time, she loves hiking, boating, traveling and going to local Charlottesville wineries.
Meg has been working with us since early 2022. Meg stays busy spending time with her two sons, Ryan and Drew. In her spare time she loves to garden as well as bake and even has dreams of opening her own bakery one day.

I was unbelievably impressed with Dr. Smith's patience with my anxious 14 yr old who got a cavity filled. He used laughing gas and waited until she was comfortable and ready. When she felt pain, he waited and made sure she was numb before pursuing. I would drive hours if I needed to, to come to this practice. Dr Smith, Dr Stump, and Dr Dixon are all wonderful with children of all ages and I will be sad when my girls are too old to go to this practice. Thank you for easing my daughters nerves. We switched to Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry-and Dr. Smith and Amber have been absolutely awesome! Everyone has been super nice and super helpful! My son passed out in the office and everyone came to assist, was super helpful and concerned. I highly recommend them!

The team at both locations are top notch. The staff is always friendly and flexible. We've been to both locations & have been seeing Dr. Stump for nearly 4 years. My kids love going to the dentist - they make it fun and stress free. When my 5 year old was scared and got upset about X-rays they were patient and kind. I also missed an appointment during pandemic and they were very understanding & accommodating . I moved to Richmond and still drive to Zion Crossroads because I trust them and my kids really like Dr. Stump (and his fun socks & bow ties!).

As always the staff is a pleasure to work with. They are always kind and courteous to the parents and children, always willing to explain anything and everything. Was very nice of the office to allow my entire family to be present for the appointment keeping all of us together. Thank you for your wonderful bedside manners to the children.

Top notch facility, staff & doctors. We love Dr. Smith and he has been so kind to my 3 littles. He listened when I was concerned about my sons teeth and immediately noticed issues that had been ignored elsewhere. He set a plan in place to correct his problems and has been great. My kids look forward to visiting! They are also doing a great job with covid protocols to protect their patients & staff!

The whole experience from the time we walked in the building until it was over was top notch. Every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming to both my two year old and four year old. Dr. Stump is a natural with kiddos and my four year old even said "I love going to the dentist, when can we come back?" as we left.

I was so pleased with every aspect of Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry at Spring Creek. Every one was so kind and made sure my boy was comfortable. I was so anxious for him to get the dental work done, but Dr. Smith was so fantastic with my son it put me at ease and I think my boy enjoyed it too. I could not recommend them enough and we will be happy to go back again.

I absolutely am amazed at how wonderful the entire experience was for my 5 year old!! He was extremely nervous going into this appointment but left LOVING the dentist!! The dental assistant Skyler was beyond amazing, making my son laugh and feel so relaxed and Dr. Stump was phenomenal! They took such great care of him, I would give this office 10 stars if I could!!! I highly recommend this dental office! **Update** My 2 year old daughter had her very first dental visit today & once again Dr. Stump was amazing! He was so great with her even though she was screaming her face off He was very informative with all of the different treatment options and I didn't leave with questions unanswered! So happy to find such a great dentist!!!

Always a great experience with Dr. Stump. My son who is now 7, has unfortunately had a few teeth pulled and Dr. Stump has made each experience painless. My son doesn't mind going to the dentist. I trust Dr. Stumps approach and I am so thankful to have the convenience of the Zions location.

It was my son's first visit and it couldn't have gone any better. From walking in with a pleasant greeting and smile(I assume behind the mask lol) to the kind technician. Would definitely recommend.

Both my daughters go to the Spring Creek location and everytime they are nervous but almost instantly from getting greeted to meeting with the dentist they are put at ease and always leave in great spirits. The staff does phenomenal with their patients. I highly recommend !!

Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry is hands down the best dentist for children. After multiple issues with a local family dentist, we found Charlottesville Pediatric Dentistry and love Dr. Dixon, Dr. Smith, and Dr. Stump! The entire practice and staff are amazing! We would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist for their children!!!
