When youre in need of orthodontics in or around Zion Crossroads or Charlottesville, its our aim to be your premier choice. Were proud to offer a relaxing and family-friendly office environment thats perfectly suited for patients of all ages. With our wide array of orthodontic treatments, were well equipped to help give you the smile of your dreams. Our orthodontists are capable of providing you with the attentive and individualized care that you need, specializing in Invisalign and braces. Were proud to introduce you to the leaders of our team, Drs. Bart Weis and Nancy Stranix.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters in Business Administration from James Madison University and my Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Medical College of Virginia and have practiced orthodontics exclusively in Charlottesville since 1996.

In addition to earning my specialty degree as an orthodontist, I am a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an honor held by only one-third of orthodontists in the U.S. I am also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, the American Association of Orthodontics, and the American Dental Association.

I served as President of the Charlottesville/Albemarle Dental Society, President of the Medical College of Virginia Orthodontic Foundation and on the Board of Directors of the Charlottesville Community Childrens Dental Center.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three sons, traveling and exploring distant places, cheering on the UVA Hoos including at the National Championship and Final Four games in 2019, playing golf, surfing, paddleboarding and fishing.

I absolutely love orthodontics and getting to know the people behind the smiles! Its wonderful to have the opportunity to build relationships with our patients and their families and watch as their smiles transform over time. I love my job because it allows me to improve the health and confidence of our patients.

I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia (go Hoos!) and graduated with honors before attending dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating at the top of my class. After dental school, I completed an additional three years of specialized training in orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, where I learned the most advanced techniques for treating both children and adults.

Before moving to Charlottesville, I practiced orthodontics in New York City and Philadelphia while my husband, JT, completed his residency in reconstructive plastic surgery. In addition to obtaining my specialty license in orthodontics, I am a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an accomplishment attained by only about 1/3 of orthodontists in the US. In order to give the highest quality of care to our patients, I regularly attend continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest advances in orthodontics. I am a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society and the American Association of Orthodontists.

My husband, JT, and I met at UVA and are thrilled to be back in Charlottesville with our sweet daughter, Blair. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling, cheering on our Virginia Cavaliers, and taking walks with our daughter. I love living in Charlottesville and enjoying all the restaurants, music, and fun outdoor activities it has to offer.

We are now an AOAC Team Certified practice. This designation is provided by a leading education and training company for the orthodontic industry. Achieving this level of accomplishment means that our team has completed countless hours of education, knowledge and testing procedures in the field of orthodontics. You can feel better about the level of care you receive by knowing that our team is dedicated to furthering our knowledge and expertise in the field of orthodontics.

I have been working at Charlottesville Orthodontics since 1984. I love my job and love seeing all the patients beautiful smiles as they transform with treatment. This is a fun place to work with a wonderful team of individuals. We do our best to make your treatment time a joy!

I began my career at Charlottesville Orthodontics in 1993 as a Clinical Assistant. I had the privilege of working with Dr. Weis from the very beginning of his career here in Charlottesville. I left the practice in 2002 when my second son was born to raise my family. After taking a 13.5 year break from Orthodontics, I returned to the practice in 2016 as a Scheduling Coordinator. I absolutely love this practice and our patients. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially my two boys who are the apples of my eye.

If you need anything vintage or unique, I am the queen of finding collectibles! In my free time, I love being with my family and friends. Any time during the week, you can find me walking on the Monticello Trail.

I joined the amazing Charlottesville Orthodontic team in 2005 as a Clinical Technician and am now a Treatment Coordinator and Financial Coordinator, ensuring that each of our patients receives optimal treatment for their individual case. I truly enjoy the time spent building relationships with our wonderful patients and being a part of providing them with the best care in order to give them the beautiful smile they deserve for a lifetime.

As a Certified Orthodontic Assistant and Treatment Coordinator, I have the privilege of working alongside Drs. Weis and Stranix and my amazing co-workers creating and building lasting relationships with our fantastic patients and their entire family.

When outside the office, I absolutely love to be outdoors with my amazing husbandand beautiful daughter, Shelby Jean, wrangling our horses and taking long walks with our dog, Delilah. On the weekends, I enjoy spending time with my loving family and going to car shows.

I joined Charlottesville Orthodontics in early 2014 as an Orthodontic Assistant and received my certification in 2016. Since the day I had braces put on in high school, I have had an interest in dentistry. Before finishing my assisting program based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, I was asked to become part of this amazing team. I enjoy working chair side next to Drs. Weis and Stranix. We have an amazing, skilled and inspiring group of individuals that I have the pleasure of working with every day. I look forward to helping our patients enjoy their beautiful smiles for a lifetime.

I currently reside in Madison county with my husband Josh and son Cole. We have two dogs, Maya and Kimber. When Im not in the office, you can find me with family, hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, or kayaking.

I joined this wonderful team in January 2015. It is a real pleasure to go to work every day and do something I truly love. Working beside Drs. Weis and Stranix is an amazing experience, and I enjoy coming to work and giving our patients a beautiful smile for a life time.

I started working at Charlottesille Orthodontics in April 2018. I have worked in orthodontics for 19 years as treatment coordinator and orthodontic assistant. After years of commuting I decided to find a job closer to home. I am so happy to be working for Charlottesille Orthodontics! What a wonderful fun, caring and loving team!

I began my career at Charlottesville Orthodontics in the summer of 2017. Since then, I have enjoyed learning from our very knowledgeable doctors and enhancing my skills so that I am able to provide the best care possible to our patients. I consider myself very lucky to be able to work in an industry that can make a person more confident in themselves and give them a reason to show off their smile. Dr. Weis and Dr. Stranix are by far the two best doctors in our area and I have been beyond blessed to have the opportunity to work for and learn from them. When Im not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our son, cooking and traveling whenever it is possible.

In October of 2019, I joined the team at Charlottesville Orthodontics as a clinical assistant. After struggling for years with an imperfect bite and smile I got braces and when I saw the final result, I knew I wanted to work in orthodontics and help fix smiles for a lifetime. This career is so rewarding because I know first hand what a difference a beautiful smile can make. I always leave the office feeling as if I made a difference in someone else's life. I am incredibly blessed to work alongside Dr. Weis, Dr. Stranix, and our wonderful team. I use the tremendous amount of knowledge and skill gained at Charlottesville Orthodontics to make our patients comfortable and confident. It is an absolute advantage to be part of a team that is more like family than co-workers. When I am not in the office, you can find me with friends, family, shopping, or in the Dunkin Donuts drive thru.

I joined Charlottesville Orthodontics in 2015 after completing the Dental Assisting program at my local community college. While working with teeth isnt for everyone, it has been one thing that has always captivated my attention. Growing up, one of my biggest influencers in life began her career working in orthodontics and I like to think that I followed in her footsteps. Lucky for me, I now get to work with her every day and share our passion. I cant wait to help you develop a smile that you love!

When I am out of the office, I am raising my two little girls Kyleigh and Annistyn with my husband Kyle. We like to get outside as a family to train and run our dogs in the fields. We love to take family trips and hope to do a big road trip across the United States before the girls are grown. So if you have any places we should add to the map, catch me in the office and Ill be sure to mark it down.

I joined this outstanding team as a clinical assistant in April 2021. I truly enjoy the opportunity to make a positive impact in our patients' lives each and every day. Working alongside Dr. Weis and Dr. Stranix is an incredibly rewarding experience as I see all the knowledge and care they share with every patient. When I am not in the office you can find me spending time with family and friends or at the beach.

Most people associate orthodontics with young teenagers whose teeth are covered by a latticework of metal. There are many orthodontic patients who fit that description and wear braces as a form of orthodontic treatment. However, there now exists an increasingly popular alternative to traditional metal braces: Invisalign clear aligners.

As the name implies, Invisalign clear aligners are made of almost invisible polyurethane plastic. Rather than being cemented or bonded to the teeth as metal or clear braces are, clear aligners are completely removable, for important social occasions, for eating, and, most importantly, for tooth-brushing and flossing. However, you must resist the temptation to take your aligners out more than is advised.

  • A Discreet Look If you consider your orthodontic treatment to be a private matter, or simply feel that metal braces don't fit with your self-image, the practically invisible form of Invisalign orthodontic treatment might suit you.
  • More Dietary Choices To protect metal wires and braces, some diet modifications are necessary to avoid certain foods that can damage your orthodontic appliances. With Invisalign clear aligners, you can still bite into an apple or a crispy pizza crust once you have removed your clear aligners to eat.
  • Invisalign clear aligners work the same way traditional braces do: by applying carefully controlled forces to teeth to move them into a better position. The difference is that they are not made of metal; instead, they are made of clear, flexible plastic.

2.This movement will be broken down into about several dozen stages. For each stage, the Invisalign company will manufacture two plastic mouth trays or aligners, one to fit over your top teeth and one for the bottom.

3.You will wear this first set of trays for two weeks, for a minimum of 22 hours per day. You will then move on to the next set of aligners in your series to accomplish the next stage of gradual movement. You will keep doing this until your teeth are correctly aligned

Invisalign can also be used as a form of orthodontic treatment for teenagers. For the teen who wants a more discreet form of orthodontic treatment that offers comfort and more flexibility, Invisalign Teen is specially designed with teenage patients in mind.

  • Compliance indicators built into the aligner material, which fade with wear and allows parents, orthodontists, and the patient themselves, to make sure the clear aligners are being worn as prescribed for successful orthodontic treatment.
  • Wear your retainer(s) exactly as prescribed by Dr. Weis and Dr. Stranix after your Invisalign treatment is completed to maintain your post-treatment results and protect your investment in a beautiful new smile.
  • The Magic of Orthodontics Proper alignment of the teeth is basic to Smile Design. Their position dictates how they work together and affects the way you look and smile. Only orthodontic treatment can move teeth into the right position. Simply put, when things look right, they probably are right. Learn the basics of smile analysis and design and whether the magic of orthodontics will work for you... Read Article

Clear Aligners for Teenagers Teens who regard traditional braces as restrictive, confining, and obstructive to their lifestyles now have another choice for orthodontic treatment: clear aligners. This advanced dental technology, originally geared toward adults, has recently evolved to treat a greater variety of bite problems in younger people. These improved orthodontic appliances can help teens function normally during a difficult phase of life... Read Article

Orthodontics for the Older Adult Healthy teeth can be moved at any age, so there's no such thing as too old for braces. In fact, nowadays about one out of every five orthodontic patients is an adult. Yet this figure represents only a small portion of adults who could actually benefit from orthodontic treatment... Clear Orthodontic Aligners Orthodontic treatment using clear aligners consists of a series of aligners that you change about every two weeks over a course of treatment lasting six to eighteen months depending on how much movement is needed... Read Article

Had Invisalign treatment at an office that is no longer in business. I need a lingual bar bonded back that has came lose and a new retainer made. Office will not do this since I did not have full treatment at their office. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful and gave a recommendation on who else I could call. I would look elsewhere for your orthodontic needs. Very disappointed.

I am an adult patient of Charlottesville Orthodontics. A year-and-a-half ago I broke a tooth and didn't have room for an implant, so I wanted to have the gap closed. I met with another Orthodontist and was told it couldn't be done. Dr. Weis said he could close the gap, and he has! I am very pleased with the results of Charlottesville Orthodontics' work and care and highly recommend them to anyone.

Had a great Invisalign experience. Extremely happy with the results. The team is very friendly, and everyone is welcoming. Being a "non-traditional" patient (i.e. older), I am surprised at how quickly the treatment took hold and couldn't have asked for a better outcome. I highly recommend this group.

Excellent customers service. The staff were very professional and thorough in regards to their workflow and making sure that they're taking appropriate safety measures amid COVID-19. My son had orthodontic treatment in the past and I was very comfortable and confident coming back here for my orthodontic treatment. I would like to thank everyone there for their help and a special shotout to Jessika and Felicia who were very efficient and got me an appointment so quickly both virtually and in person. :)

Charlottesville Orthodontics is a very high quality business. They were always running on time (even if I wasn't). They were efficient, friendly, and helpful, and they were very professional at all times. They really took interest in their patients, and I felt like they cared about what they were doing. I would certainly recommend them to anyone in their area. I had a pretty messed up mouth (trust me) and my teeth are straight, normal looking, and in tip-top shape!
