We are proud of our practices commitment to be on the cutting edge of technology in oral surgery. If you have any questions about our use of technology or are just interested in a more detailed explanation of how the technology works, please ask for additional information.

Technology affects many aspects of oral surgery, including planning for the procedure and performing it. For example, advanced imaging helps us to better visualize the surgical field when we are preparing for something like jaw surgery or dental implant placement and reduces the likelihood of surprises during the procedure.

Using the most current tools and instruments to perform the procedure is also important, as outdated technology may not be as effective. Furthermore, as surgical instruments are consistently improved by manufacturers, they are able to be more precise, which facilitates faster healing in patients.

This air purification system uses HyperHEPA technology to capture particles a fraction of the size that normally pass through a standard HEPA system. Therefore, it is able to protect patients from a broader range of allergens, pathogens, and other potentially harmful substances.

Digital radiography produces standard two-dimensional x-rays but while exposing the patient to a much lower dose of radiation than traditional x-ray equipment does. These images help diagnose conditions and prepare for simple procedures, such as wisdom tooth extraction.

In contrast, our CS 9300 Cone Beam CT scanner compiles multiple two-dimensional images to create a three-dimensional illustration of the surgical field. Having a three-dimensional image as a guide can help us to pinpoint a specific surgical strategy to use during the procedure.

Furthermore, Cone Beam CT results in lower radiation exposure than traditional CT scans entail, and our CS 9300 system can be tailored to scan precise areas to even further reduce the patients radiation exposure.

We can also use imaging technology for patient education purposes. The lifelike images help us to provide more relevant information about the purpose of the procedure and the techniques that we plan to use. We can give you a three-dimensional depiction of the anticipated results, as well.

Of course, more precise surgical technology also typically results in a faster, more predictable healing process. This is yet another way that our patients benefit from our practices dedication to technology.

Dr. Ibanez achieves this goal by working closely with our vendors and taking advantage of all relevant continuing education opportunities. We are diligent about staying updated on technological advances that can further enhance our care and our patients experiences.

The science and art of treating facial injuries requires special training involving a hands-on experience and an understanding of how the treatment provided will influence the patients long term function and appearance.

Corrective jaw surgery is needed when jaws dont meet correctly and/or teeth dont seem to fit with jaws. This not only improves facial appearance, but also ensures that teeth meet correctly and function properly.

The inside of the mouth is normally lined with a special type of skin (mucosa) that is smooth and coral pink in color. Any alteration in this appearance could be a warning sign for a pathological process, such as oral cancer.

I have had an excellent experience with Charlottesville Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center. I was informed about what to expect with my procedure every step of the way through direct communication during the pre-op visit, emails explaining what to expect, including a video of the procedure, and step by step as the procedure was done. Additionally, I knew before my appointment the charges for which I was responsible. This is a well run practice.

I came to C'Ville Oral Surgery with an infected wisdom tooth. I was in a lot of pain and they got me in quickly for extraction of both my lower wisdom teeth. They were professional, efficient and sweet. I would recommend them to anyone. A big thank you to their team, I have been anxious about getting them removed since I was a child and they made me feel at ease.

Such a great office. I had an emergency with a wisdom tooth. I was swollen couldn't talk or eat. I couldn't even sleep. They got me in the same day and even though I was so swollen it made their job harder the doctor was still nice enough to extract the wisdom tooth to get me out of so much pain.

Staff is rude and unhelpful. Money matters more than patients in this office. Don't come without a pocket full of cash or you won't get service. And they probably will recommend services you don't need. Zero stars.

Outstanding! This place is the best dental practice I have ever been too. I have been in and out of the dentist my whole like, seeing more than I care to. Every time I go to the dentist I'm nervous, anxious, worried, and riddled with highly unlikely possibilities that I build up unrealistically. So needless to say I dread going to any dentist. With Dr. Carlos R. Ibanez as well as his co-workers it made it much more comfortable going. I've had a root canal, two extractions, and even a dental implant at this business. At every turn they helped by explaining everything that they were gonna do, how, and made sure I wasn't hurting. I've recieved novacaine before and most people don't get it where it needs to be so you can still feel it and it's a horrible experience. Not Dr. Ibanez he has the best needle work I've ever gotten. They make sure you're comfortable for everything they do. This establishment and their employees are by far the best I have EVER gone to. An aside from that their work has been outstanding! If I ever need something serious done I know exactly where I'm going. Not that anyone wants to . I would highly, highly recommend them to anyone I know needing oral work. I have Zero, 0, complaint and nothing but high regard for Dr. Ibanez. He's efficient, thorough, and damn good. If you want excellent work that you want done quickly, that you could have a smile your proud of, choose here.

Everyone was kind, calm, and helpful. Dr. Ibanez especially kept me informed with each step in the process - such a very nice person. I had a procedure I had never had before and was not at all nervous.

My girlfriend had her wisdom teeth out and it took them 4 hours post operation to place the prescription pain meds to our pharmacy. Very unprofessional and they clearly do not have regard for the pain levels of their patients. I would confirm you can get the pain meds pre-surgery rather than waste your time calling them 10 times post op.

My son had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted last week and we just had our follow up visit. Everything went so smooth and I can't believe how quickly it healed and with very little pain or bleeding. We did have a small glitch with the pharmacy for the pain medications, but Dr Inbanez quickly took care of this & even arranged this late Friday night after he was already at his home. The whole process was so fluent and Dr Ibanez is a superior communicator! I hope I never have to have a need for such a specialized dentist but if I do I 100% know it will be Charlottesville Oral Surgery-Dr. Ibanez 5 Star +++++
