Dr. Christina Horton grew up in Charlottesville, Virginia. She received a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from The College of William & Mary and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. After that, she went on to complete a two year General Practice Residency at The Ohio State University. She served as chief resident there and expanded her knowledge of general dentistry, extractions, and working with the special needs and medically compromised populations.
Dr. Horton is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Special Care Dentistry Association. She believes that all people deserve dental care, and she loves working with special needs patients.
Dr. Katie Vo graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. Thereafter, she completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Virginia. Through this residency, Dr. Vo gained tremendous experience treating a wide spectrum of cases, including medically compromised and special needs patients. She also served as chief resident, and spent time volunteering at the Charlottesville Free Clinic.
It didn't take long for her to fall in love with Charlottesville and its surroundings. She enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle, especially with her rescue dog Riley. When possible, she makes time to visit Northern Virginia to spend time with her family and friends.
Dr. States grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. After graduating from Hampden-Sydney College with a degree in Chemistry in 1986, he earned his dental degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in 1990.
Upon graduation, Dr. States moved to Charlottesville and has been practicing dentistry ever since. Influenced by the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Clarke and Dr. James Farmer, Dr. States believes that everyone, regardless or socioeconomic class or life circumstances, deserves the opportunity to experience optimal oral health. His philosophy is that the doctor and patient are a team that together comes up with a plan of treatment that is appropriate.
Dr. States is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Academy of General Dentistry and the Academy of Osseointegration, as well as several local study clubs.
In, 1992 Dr. States married the love of his life Sheri. When they are not working, they enjoy serving in their church, experiencing all the beauty that Central Virginia has to offer and when time permits, a little fishing.

Another great visit with Dr. Horton. She takes the time to talk about any concerns and give feedback. This visit my hygienist was Jonathan....WOW....great work, wonderful personality. Whole visit went well, pain free and quick. This IS the go-to Charlottesville dentist office!

Can't say enough about Dr. Vo and her assistant! I had serious anxiety coming into this appointment with a jaw problem that materialized during COVID and procrastination because of this anxiety. They could not have been more pleasant. Not only were they incredibly friendly but it was the first time that I experienced a dentist that didn't shame me in one way shape or form. I am so grateful for their incredible chair-side-manner.

Just had my check-up and cleaning at Charlottesville Dental Associates! I am very grateful for the professional care and treatment I received. Scheduling is easy and accommodating. The evaluation was thorough and Dr. States explained my treatment in detail. Denise is an amazing hygienist! She was extremely thorough and made sure I was comfortable throughout the cleaning. I am looking forward to my next visit!

Love Charlottesville Dental Associates! After experiencing a dentist concerned mostly with the health and function of teeth, but not so much their appearance and then a dentist who seemed concerned mostly with profit, this clinic is perfect. The staff is warm, caring and highly qualified and the procedures painless. The results: beautiful, healthy teeth at a reasonable cost.
