Dr. Ashley Patnoe has traveled a winding path through, beyond and back to West Virginia. She was born and spent several of her childhood years in Morgantown, WV. Richmond, VA was briefly home to Dr. Patnoe before her family moved to Charleston, WV in 1980.
From the age of 12, Dr. Patnoe spent a great deal of her spare time working in her fathers endodontic practice. Although she admired the skills and artistry that he developed as a dentist in a career spanning over 42 years, and counting Dr. Patnoe never imagined that she would one day choose to follow in his footsteps.
After graduating from Charlestons George Washington High School in 1989, Dr. Patnoe entered undergraduate studies at West Virginia University. Although she expected to graduate as a teacher, Dr. Patnoe decided to enter WVUs dental school. She emerged a dentist, and then completed her residency studies at The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Upon completion of her academics, she remained in Michigan for 3 1/2 years, working as a pediatric dentist in a large practice in Rochester Hills, MI.
Feeling the need to return to her hometown, Dr. Patnoe chose to plan, build and open her own pediatric practice in Charleston, WV. Since opening her office on November 3, 2003, Dr. Patnoe has welcomed patients from a diverse population in and around Charleston.
Dr. Patnoe describes herself and the members of her office team as committed to the oral health of the children I take care of, and I strive to meet all of their growing needs. Im always pushing myself and my staff to improve our service to our community.
Her family, consisting of her husband, son and daughter, share Dr. Patnoes love of West Virginia, and take advantage of all the state has to offer, including hiking and snow skiing. She also shares her enjoyment of movies, cooking and (especially) reading with her family.
Brittany came to work at Charleston Pediatric Dentistry as a hygiene assistant in 2006 while she was still attending college. She fell in love with Dr. Patnoe, the staff, and kids, and has continued to work here as dental assistant after graduating from WVU Tech. Brittany loves working with kids and hearing all their stories. In her free time she enjoys spending time with wife, Brandy, family & friends. She also enjoys outdoor activities & traveling.
Holly is a 2012 graduate of Southern WV Community College with an associates degree in Dental Hygiene. Holly came to work with us in 2014 and fit right in with our fun group! Holly likes to spend her weekends spending time with her family and friends! She enjoys the outdoors and attending local sporting events.
Kourtney came to work for us after finishing her internship in April 2018. She is a graduate from the Dental Assistant program at West Virginia Junior College. Kourtney was our scheduling coordinator for awhile but is now working close with Dr. Patnoe and our patients to schedule all treatment needs. Fun fact: Kourtney is the Momma to Twins and Triplets, and says in her downtime, Ha ha who has downtime? My evenings are filled with Dance, Football, Cheer, Tennis and Basketball but I truly enjoy it! Weekends are made for fun and family.
Lisa has been a dental hygienist for over 27 years! Her experience has been as asset to this office for thelast 10 years!! Lisa is happily married and they have two grown children (one boy and one girl), agrandson, and a dog named Lilly! Lisa spends as much time as she can with her family. She and herhusband travel often to watch their son play baseball. When she is not traveling she enjoys playing withher grandson, cooking and baking with her daughter, walking with her husband, and reading!
Tabby was born and raised in Charleston WV. She graduated from Fair Haven Christian School andCarver Career Center in 2010. Tabby later received her associates degree in Dental Hygiene fromBridgemont Community and Technical College. Tabby was married in 2013 and has a beautiful son anddaughter. In her spare time, Tabby enjoys being with her family. They like to go to amusement parks,four-wheeling, fishing, camping, and vacation at the beach! Tabby attends a local church and stays busywith her sons many sport activities.
Carrena is a graduate of WVJCs Dental Assisting program and has two years of pediatric dental assisting experience. Carrena Likes to sing, dance, and make people laugh. She has two beautiful little girls who keep her very busy. During her rare free-time, Carrena enjoys spending time with her family, rocking out to music, and drinking iced coffee.
Tori graduated from Carver Career Center as a Certified Dental Assistant in 2015. You will find Tori on the clinical side of the practice, along with her new position of Patient Services Representative. When Tori is not working with us, she loves spending time with her three children and online shopping!

This office is rude, my son has been crying with a cavity for weeks and instead of trying to get him in they just told us to find a new dentist bc he was sick during two of his cleaning visits . Courtney the business manager very rude and heartless. Don't take your kids here.

Dr. Patnoe is genuinely wonderful. Any questions, concerns, or thoughts I have, she is able to help me with ease. Everyone in the office is so incredibly friendly, and compassionate. I absolutely love bringing my daughter here.

Policies changed - if you missed during Covid you are considered a new patient. Be sure to verify your insurance/ their policies from the beginning. ***Feedback for improvement: Front Desk/Registration staff need trained on office policies in regards to new patients/insurance coverage - to allow for better communication with parents. *** Our experience: Upon check in for my sons visit I was told that his MetLife insurance coverage was "looked up online, he was active & everything was good to go". Our policy is 100% paid preventative care. After his cleaning was done and he was awaiting x-rays I was quoted $329 for the standard visit to be paid upfront. Then await for MetLife to review and reimburse the dental office and the the dental office will reimburse me - with no specified time frame. I would have simply chosen another provider and not continued with the appointment had I known this was their policy upfront. In my opinion best practice would be to explain this policy when the parent is making the initial appointment or at the least during check in. Not after the nervous 4 year old child is sitting in the x-ray chair waiting as staff discuss payment with the parent.

I have taken both of my children here for years .I brought my son to his appointment and she decided that she was going to bill us first then the insurance company. We have very good insurance. I don't know what parent can afford to pay an entire balance upfront. She was also charging $900 for a small cavity on a baby tooth and sealant. 9 years we have been going here . I didn't have the full amount so we had to leave . It's not right . She has been seeing my children since they were 10 months old . Money talks I guess .

Very good dentist, but reception is rude. I didn't take my kid there due to Covid. And now when I want to come back they said no because I haven't brought her since Jul 10 2019. How is that fair?

I Love Dr Ashley...my twins have been going since birth they are now 4yrs old... Dr Ashley and her staff are so kind hearted and treat my boys and I like family....I highly recommend this dentistry for kids u won't regret it.....To Dr Ashley and your staff thank you guys for making my boys happy and safe were love u guyskeep up the excellent work!!!!!!

My daughter's (age 12 & 8) had their first cleaning since CoVID19 shut down/reopening last week. It went great! I couldn't physically be in there with them, because I have an infant, so we stayed in the car. I downloaded the new Modento app as suggested and it was the next best thing to being in there! When we arrived, I called to let the office know. I got a text when they were ready. We were met at the door by a staff member and she escorted the girls in. Once their cleaning was over, I received a text back with Dr. Patnoe's notes for each child separately. A staff member walked my daughters back to my car when they were done. I was so thrilled with how everything went! Very smooth, very professional, the Modento app was an awesome tool and the girls felt very comfortable! For the "new normal" this was great...and nice clean teeth!!

I could not have asked for a better experience. From the delightful greeting we received walking in the front door to the caring, hard working hygienist that took great care of us. Dr. Patnoe really cares for her patients and they all went above and beyond to take make us feel comfortable. If I could give them more starts I would!
