Dr. Vivek Patel was born in Chicago and raised in Skokie, IL. He completed his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). While in school, he served as as a board member of his graduating class and the American Student Dental Association (ASDA).
After dental school, Dr. Patel completed his orthodontic specialty residency at the Seton Hill UniversityAdvanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, where he obtained a Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Patel is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is involved with many professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and South Carolina Dental Association.
When not in the office, Dr. Patel enjoys spending family time with his wife, Krupa, who is a native of the metro Detroit area. They both enjoy traveling and finding good eats. Dr. Patel is a huge sports fan and is a proud supporter of all Chicago teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.
Dr. Steve Garrett has been delivering the highest standard of orthodontic care since 1979. He graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry with a residency in orthodontics and is certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He is passionate about his patients and is committed to giving each patient the best possible orthodontic experience.
He and his wife, Susie, have three children, Justin, Anne, and Mykenzie, and one precious granddaughter, Autumn. Dr. Justin Garrett followed in his fathers footsteps and is an orthodontist practicing in Charleston, South Carolina. Anne is a registered dental hygienist and practices in Northern VA. Dr. Mykenzie Garrett is a physical therapist.
Dr. Garrett is a black belt in Kenpo Karate and has taught martial arts in his free time. He has also served as Chairman of the Boy Scouts Eagle Board. He and Susie enjoy shoot sports, golf, tennis, and traveling with family and friends.
Dr. Trevan Samp received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Brown University, where he was also a wide receiver for the Brown Bears. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania for dental school and completed his Masters in Orthodontics at the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco. He is also certified by the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Samp was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which explains his allegiance to the Green Bay Packers, but is excited to now call Charleston home. When he isnt helping patients, he enjoys playing sports, hiking, skiing, travelling, and spending time with his wife, Ashley, and his family and friends.

I made an appointment one week and was seen the next week! I went in for my consultation and got my braces the same day. I was most definitely excited for this journey. Everything I needed to know was explained well. 10/10 I recommend!

The staff is wonderful and it was a great experience. They made my daughter have confidence in her smile. I am glad that they had the 99.00 down for braces and the ad is real she got them same day.

I decided at the age of 65 to get braces. I went to Charleston Orthodontics and wore the braces for 2-1/2 years. I have been extremely pleased with the outcome; the friendly staff; Dr Patel. I will miss see everyone as I live in Columbia SC, not the Charleston area. I highly recommend Charleston Orthodontics!

I got my braces through them and I love my results. The employees and Doctor are great always make me feel comfortable when am there. If any problems they immediately have you come in to address it. Have referred plenty of people to them

I love this office. Dr.P is always very pleasant. Ms. Penny makes you feel very welcomed and her presence is missed when she's not around. They keep great records and very encouraging with you hose rubber bands lol!

I had braces at a different orthodontics office but when they wouldn't fix my permanent retainer for free after only 5 months of having it put on I refused to pay them to fix it or pay them to remove it. I decided to go get another opinion at Charleston Orthodontic and after looking at it they could see that the error was definitely not me but how it was put on. They evidently can tell by the way in which the glue has come off. They felt it best to remove it and start over with a new one and charged me $200 which would normally cost a lot more and it's warranted for a year! I think my ortho charges $250 just to remove it and then the charge of a new one over $500 and has absolutely no warranty. No matter what the cause it's your expense. I will definitely be referring others to them. And the staff was very friendly.
