Charleston Dental Associates was founded in 1976 by Dr. Ernest N. Pennington. From the beginning, Dr. Pennington and our team have provided patients with the highest level of care. Over the years, we have treated patients in every phase of life we serve patients age two years and above, families, and seniors. To ensure you and your loved one receive the best dental care we utilize the latest dental technology and equipment.

Hes affiliated with several organizations, including the American and West Virginia Dental Associations and Kanawha Valley Dental Society. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Outside the office, Dr. Pennington enjoys WVU Football and WVU Basketball. He spends his free time traveling, listening to music, and spending time with his family and grandsons Nolan and Levi, and granddaughter Ava.
Dr. Ballard received his dental education from the WVU School of Dentistry and graduated in 2018. Outside the office, he enjoys golfing, spending time with his wife Morgan and dog Zaid. He is also the head Basketball Coach at Scott High School.
Dr. Lindsey Young is from Clarksburg, WV and currently lives in Charleston, WV. She graduated from WVU in Dec 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. She graduated from WVU school of dentistry in 2018. She recently got married In July to her husband Matt and she has a stepdaughter, Kaylee. Dr. Young also has three dogs (Gryffin, Cujo, and Chloe). In her spare time, she likes to go out on her boat, go to WVU football games, spend time with friends and family, watch her husband play travel softball, watch her daughter play T-ball and gymnastics.
Tracy joined CDA in January 2017 bringing over 25 years of experience in dentistry. She loves spending time with her daughters Erika and Whitney, grandchildren, Isaac, Sophie, Layla, Lucy, Tori, Ava & Lennon. She enjoys cooking and being a dog mom to Bruno and Dee Dee.
Bridget obtained her bachelor of science degree in Dental Hygiene at WVU. She loves spending time with her husband Sean, sons Cole and Finn, and her pets Goose and Maverick. She enjoys Real Estate in her spare time, home projects, traveling and kids activities.
Chelsey Ullom graduated from dental hygiene school in 2017. Chelsey enjoys spending time with her husband Jordan, daughter Amelia and dogs Maverick and Macy. She enjoys running and traveling to Disney World.
She attended Carver Career Center for Dental Assisting in 1999. She went on to WV University Institute of Technology and graduated in 2004 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She joined Charleston Dental Associates in March of 2021. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters watching WVU football, basketball, and volleyball. She enjoys traveling, hiking, & kayaking.
Sara is a 2011 graduate of Bridgemont CTC. She is currently completing her bachelors degree and will graduate from West Liberty University in May 2022. She enjoys traveling and WVU sports when not treating patients in the office. She enjoys spending her free time with her daughter Mila and dog Bo.
Angel has been working as a dental assistant for 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband Martin and her two daughters Merissa and Taylor. When shes not working, she loves caring for her granddaughters Aubrey and Adalyn
Haleigh graduated from Ross Medical Education Center in 2018 as a dental assistant. She loves spending time with her husband Shane, daughter Adalynn and her Yorkshire Terrior Mia Grace. When she is not working, she loves going to her church, fishing and doing outdoor family activities.
