Named one of New Yorks Best Dentists by Westchester magazine since 2012, Dr. Vargas is a cosmetic and family dentist specializing in complex full mouth rehabilitations. He offers a full range of dental services at his two practices Chappaqua Smiles in Westchester, New York and Manhattan Dental Spa in New York City
Considering oral health an essential part of overall wellness, his expertise ranges from porcelain veneers and dental implants to crowns and bridges. He takes on some of New Yorks most complex cases and is celebrated by his patients for his kind and friendly approach.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Vargas completed research at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, Maryland then went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. After completing his training, he pursued an additional year of study at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland where he received extensive prosthetic and surgical training in restoring implants, cosmetics, and other crown and bridge procedures.
Continuously advancing his efforts, he is an active member of the New York State Dental Association, the American Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He has also volunteered for Operation Smile in Hanoi and Hue, Vietnam, where he provided volunteer dental services to the disadvantaged children of the region.
Dr. O'Shaughnessy, a tennis enthusiast and mother of two who grew up in Larchmont, received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery in 2005. Upon graduation, she moved to Manhattan to complete her advanced training as a general practice resident at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital.
Dr. O is an active member of the New York State Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Connecticut State Dental Association, and Greenwich Dental Society and recently completed her associate fellowship training in Laser Dentistry.

I had the BEST experience at this office. Check in process was a breeze, the staff were super friendly. I was seen on time, had a very thorough cleaning, excellent assessment by the dental hygienist and Dr. Vargas. Will definitely come back

I have being visiting Dr Vargas for a few years now and have always felt comfortable and at ease while there. The staff at Chappaqua Smiles always makes you feel welcome and reassured that they have your best interest at heart. I've had a few different procedures done and have been very happy with the results. In addition they inform you of steps you can take to prevent further damage to your teeth, in my case it was a (guard) to prevent grinding. Which was never told to me by previous dental offices. Dr. Vargas always explains the options that are available to you which helps you make a logical decision and best choice for your needs/situation. I look forward to having Dr. Vargas and his staff taking care of all my dental needs.

I seldom write reviews but I would like to say thank you to Dr. Vargas and his entire incredible staff. Dr. Vargas is warm & friendly. He is very knowledgeable & professional. Most important of all, he very much cares about his work and his patients. I had a chipped tooth and many other dental issues. I'm always nervous about visiting a dental office but Dr. Vargas made me feel comfortable, it was a painless experience. Dr. Vargas has a lot experience which he funnels into providing the best service to his patients. I highly recommend Dr. Vargas to anyone in need of dental work.

Our entire family has been going here since we moved to town 6 years ago. We love them - they take such good care of everyone, and they really embody the notion of a family dental practice. Can't recommend them enough, and so happy that they happen to be located in our town.

Great dentist, friendly staff. They don't push unnecessary services - the topic of invisalign came up, but after a brief discussion, Dr. Vargas said that he didn't think the tradeoffs were worth it for me (and I agree). Happy to have a great dentist so close to us.

Arriving at the office of Chappaqua Smiles I received a cordial welcome and immediately met with Dr. Vargas! Films were taken and within a few minutes Dr. Vargas returned and gave a very clear and concise evaluation of the X Rays! The Dr. and I had a lengthy discussion of what he saw on the films and what corrective measures might be undertaken! Given three treatment options, I left the office relieved and much more knowledgeable! First visit was very pleasant and rewarding!
