Gum disease is one of the leading causes of tooth loss. Gum disease has two primary stages. If diagnosed and treated in the first stage, the condition can be reversed and tooth loss can usually be prevented. In order to prevent gum disease,practice good oral hygiene and visit your dentist for cleanings and check-ups twice a year.
This stage only affects the soft tissue of the gums, and the patient may not experience any discomfort. Although the symptoms may be very mild, it is important to diagnose gum disease in this early stage before it progresses to periodontitis.
Periodontitis is the name for more advanced periodontal disease and if permitted to progress to this point, not only the gums are affected but the bone structures supporting the teeth will be compromised.
A build-up of bacteria causes Gingivitis. In its early stages, inflammation around the gums is observable, with gum tissues appearing red and swollen. Gums that are easily irritated or that bleed during tooth brushing indicate the presence of Gingivitis. Removal of the plaque buildup is necessary to prevent the development of gum disease.
As the gums become more inflamed, they start to pull away from the teeth, forming spaces known as periodontal pockets. Food, bacteria, and plaque begin to collect in the pockets, leading to infection. The surrounding bone becomes damaged both by bacterial toxins and by the immune systemsresponse to infection.
Maintaining oral health includes good home care and regular visits to our office for preventive care, which includes oral examinations and cleanings. Even with excellent care, however, teeth and gums can be susceptible to disease, infection, cavities, cracks, or other forms of damage.
Comprehensive examinations of the mouth, teeth, surrounding gum tissues, and supporting bone structures help with early detection and treatment of problematic conditions.Restorative dentistry is the aspect of dentistry that helps maintain oral and overall health even when the health of one or more teeth or the surrounding areas is compromised.

A+++ Really a great experience. (At least as great as any trip to the dentist can be...!!) Seriously, I was brought in on time, and never left "waiting" for the next step. Quick, efficient, and friendly from Reception to the Hygienist to the Dentist. Great care all around. I'm glad that I switched to this office, and I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a great dentist.

Dr Bresciani and his team are very professional and friendly. It's nice having enjoyable dental experiences. After my dentist of 20 yrs. retired, I never thought I would find a great young dentist to replace him that had the same characteristics, someone who takes the time to listen, I found that in Dr. Brecsiani ! The staff is knowledgeable, prompt ,professional and very pleasant. Atmosphere is so relaxing and fun which is so hard to find especially in dental offices. Can't give enough praise to this practice, absolutely terrific!

I was very please with my experience at Chagrin Falls Dental. The receptionist (Allison) worked to make the process of changing over to their practice seamless for myself and my family. I was greeted by a friendly staff for my first appointment. My hygienist Annie was very knowledgeable and professional. She made me feel at ease and really did a thorough cleaning and exam on me. I am very glad with my choice to switch to Chagrin Falls Dental.

There is a reason the reviews are high. Unfortunately, you can't please everyone. With that said, I had my first cleaning in 3 years because of varying reasons beyond my control and I was expecting a difficult session. Luckily technology has advanced quite a bit in the last several years and the discomfort I was expecting was greatly minimized to the point that this was probably the least stressful experience I have ever had! As others have mentioned, the staff are incredible, and it was a great experience. If you have a fear of dentists (Dentophobia), this place will ease your anxiety and you will be pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend. Thanks Dr. B and Sarah!!!

Great practice. I've been going here or years and during the entire time, the staff has always been incredibly nice and great at their jobs, and Dr. Bresciani is very good. Nobody loves going to the dentist, but this is one of the few in my lifetime that makes it easy.

Best place EVER! I called so many places and no one could get me in, despite my terrible tooth pain, and they not only got me right in, they were more inexpensive than any other place! Josie and Dr. Bresciani are exceptional! Every aspect of my visit was top notch, they even had the best music! I'm recommending this place to everyone I know. I only wish I would have found this place years ago.
