Dr. Shawn Hofkes graduated at the top of his class, making the Deans Honors List each year while enrolled at the University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He completed his internship in oral surgery at USC-LAC Medical Center. Dr. Hofkes received advanced training in oral surgery and dental implants with the Global Institute for Dental Education. He continues to expand the scope of his professional experience with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
Dr. Hofkes started his practice in 2014 with the aspiration and vision to create a business that is forward thinking, provides excellent patient care in a modern environment. His mantra is to treat patients like family. Dr. Shawn is proud that he is able to learn new ideas through his practice and continuing education like staying up to date on the latest dental technologies or new bone grafting techniques. He is committed to research in oral medicine and dentistry and has received several prestigious accolades. His publications have appeared in The Journal of the American Dental Association and the Journal of Radiology. He was a Stevens Institute for Innovation Most Innovative Research nominee and a California Dental Association Table Clinic; Clinical Science winner.
Dr. Hofkes is married with two children who are the joys of his life. He was born and raised in Wisconsin, and his parents still reside there, so he occasionally travels back to visit. He enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing, and reading. Dr. Shawns quest for learning leads to his hobbies of golf and skiing. Just like in the practice of dentistry, practicing golf or skiing and all its little idiosyncrasies can drive you crazy, but theres nothing more fun than a good challenge and coming out of it stronger.

I interned here a while back & the whole staff, including the doctor, were so rude to me! Would not recommend. All about the $$$$$$$$.

Very friendly and professional staff. I started coming here when I needed major dental work(implants, bone graft in jaw, bridges) etc... They have always been throughow in explaining options and treatment plans. I could not be more pleased with the quality of care and attention to detail I receive here. I am now a regular patient every few months for cleanings and could not recommend this Dental office enough. They welcome you by name and make you feel at home. Fantastic staff.

I came here because a colleague of mine spoke Highly, Very Highly of Dr Hofkes. Came in for an evaluation of my wisdom teeth and I was so impressed with how thorough he explained the plan for my procedure. Came in again without having to wait forever for an appointment and the treatment went as smoothly as when I first checked in! I now look forward to coming to the dentist not just for major treatment , but for my regular cleanings check ups. Thanks for the awesome service Dr. Hofkes and staff ! See you soon !

Dr. Hofkes is an amazing dentist! He treated my 8 year old on a Friday night when he had a dental emergency. He is a very kind, compassionate and experienced doctor. 10 out of 10!

Everybody in this office is pleasant and friendly. They are very helpful and accommodating. Dr Hofkes and Jennifer are absolute professionals. Their staff are just as well. They don't "sell" you what you don't need. They will inform you of your options and you are free to make your choice in treatment. I appreciate them for including me in my treatment options where some places you are made to feel you have no choice.

I did not have an appointment but they still tried to take me in for a tooth extraction, unfortunately, the doctor was not at the location so they were unable to take me but the receptionist went above and beyond and called numerous different dentists trying to get me in a different location. She is amazing and being here for the first time I already feel like family.

Great place! Clean And loved the environment. Loved my dr. he got all 4 wisdom teeth within 35 min, and I didn't even feel a thing, and I wasn't put under anesthesia from my choice . Highly recommend this place .

Let me preface this review by saying that I am have am very much a scardy cat when it comes to going to the dentist. So when my wisdom tooth starting acting up, I put it on hold for as long as I possibly could. It wasn't until my fiance recommended Dr. Shawn! Everyone in this office is so welcoming, and kind, and really make you feel at ease. I was greeted by the sweetest receptionists (who were very cautions with checking me in due to COVID) I felt so comfortable. They also took this 360 degree X-RAY which was the coolest/easiest x-ray I have ever taken and it took detailed images of my whole mouth. Dr. Shawn then thoroughly explained what needed to be done and answered all the questions I had. Once it was time for the surgery, they explained the process and what I would expect during the procedure, the dental assistant even put Vaseline on my lips so they wouldn't get too dry. Within 15 minutes, my very stubborn wisdom tooth was out and the stitches were in! They also provided me with an after care bag which had all the essentials I needed. One day post-op and I was back to normal and feeling good, didn't even have any swelling (followed the 20 minutes on/off ice pack suggestion). This is the best place you can go, and I will be telling everyone about Dr. Shawn!

I've found Dr. Shawn Hofkes after months of researching for the right surgeon, because I knew my case is very complex. As a result of his experience, ability, and precision my surgery and placing the implants went perfect. I healed quickly and while waiting the required time (it was long but worth it) for the bone graft to heal, I had my temporary teeth exemplary made by Ricardo, a very talented lab technician, you couldn't even tell they are not the "final teeth". On all my appointments, I had nothing but great experiences while going to see Dr. Shawn. His team is great and he did a great job explaining everything that he was doing and listening to what I had to say. During all of my appointments: and believe me, I had so many appointments he fully answered all of my questions. After seeing many different dentists, I can say that Dr. Shawn Hofkes and his team are the best I have seen and I will continue to go there and would highly recommend them to anyone. Very important: the office itself is very new, immaculate and state of the art. His staff is top notch, all of them are great, professional and make you feel so comfortable. Absolutely wonderful people. You get to watch Netflix while having your teeth worked on as well. All around Professionals! It's been 3 months now since I got my final beautiful teeth!!! I feel very comfortable and cannot stop smiling and take selfies, I got countless compliments from all my friends and co-workers. My dream having a beautiful smile really came through, thank you Ricardo for "building" my perfect teeth and millions of thanks to Dr. Shawn!!!
