Cerritos Dental Care is a Cerritos based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, crowns, veneers and more.

The team at Cerritos Dental Carebelieve in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Cerritos Dental Carework to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Cerritos area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Cerritos Dental Care can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

Choosing to ask a family dentist any questions that support the health of ones mouth is encouraged. The more one knows about what it takes to experience good oral health, the more likely they are to have good oral health. Since cavities are preventable and treatable, understanding their cause is necessary.A family dentist is a

a day ago NEW This place is terrible. They charged my insurance for a root canal and cap in March 2022 and then it broke off May 2022. I have called them they are refusing to credit my insurance for the cap. While sitting in their lobby another customer came in complaining of the same issue I am now dealing with. The dentist said I needed to have the tooth extracted. I went for a second opinion and found out no extradition is needed. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!

I can't say enough about this place! AMAZING !!! I have so much anxiety and even a start of a melt down but these people were patient, kind and patient with me. They were so clam and nice. The dentist did an great job explaining everything. My teeth were never taken care of as a child so you can imagine the mess they are in. I'm so beyond thankful and happy I found such sweet amazing girls to help me fix this mess. Looking forward to my dental treatments in the near future to have a great smile- Michelle O'Neill

AMMENDED STATEMENT May 4, 2022 Cerritos Dental Care 20106 Pioneer Blvd Ste A & B Cerritos, Ca 90703-7400 There were no issues with my teeth when I first came into Cerritos Dental Care. Kaiser Medical started paying for a part of my dental through Delta Dental. The first day of my appointment the office seemed very disorganized, and I had to keep prompting them to figure out what should happen next with me. I was told I needed 3 crowns and a filling. I was told my bill would be $2570.00. The next appointment was to put on temporary crowns. I asked the Dr Mahsa if I still had wisdom teeth. She looked at my x-rays and said no. Then after the DDS and assistant had been working on my mouth for 15 to 20 minutes, they were discussing what the number were on the teeth that needed to be worked on. The DDS said at that time that I did have a wisdom tooth and that was one of the teeth that needed a crown. (Why was I not asked what I wanted done with a wisdom tooth before she decided it needed a crown? Maybe because she didn't even realize it was a wisdom tooth?) The next appointment I waited 40 minutes before being called back to be worked on. They removed the temporary crowns and when they did so from the wisdom tooth, I could smell and taste rotten food. The temporary crown on the wisdom tooth must have not been sealed correctly and food was able to accumulate inside the crown for the 3 weeks that I had the temporary crown on. When the DDS administered the lidocaine, I still could feel pain to the wisdom tooth. She ended up giving me 4 or 5 more shots in that tooth before it was finally numb. First, she told me it was because of the food that had accumulated under the temporary crown had made the bone underneath very tender. Then later she changed it and said that I had a very deep cavity, but she had filled it. (So which one was it, a tender bone due to food being underneath temporary crown or a deep cavity filled?) Then she said maybe later I will probably a root canal. ( I asked myself why am I getting a crown on wisdom tooth that might have to have a root canal. Why wasn't the wisdom tooth just pulled). My mouth filled with blood while they were trying to force the crowns on my two teeth. Since my last appointment it's been a week. I realized that the blood in my mouth was from the last appointment was from my gum being cut. The cut has been very painful and sore for a week. The wisdom tooth has ached and been very sore and swollen for the whole week. My tongue is sore, I have bitten my tongue numerous times, the tooth is very sensitive to hot and cold food, and I have to chew on the other side of my mouth I've requested another DDS see me to fill the cavity they say I have and to also do an adjustment on the wisdom tooth. Dr. Farzan was my new dentist and after examining my mouth and x-rays he did not believe I needed a filing. I was told I would be refunded the filing amount and hopefully Delta Dental will also. I can't believe I'm out $2570.00 when originally I never had any problems with my teeth and now I've had continuous discomfort. Floleen Feil

I was looking for a new dentist and came across this office decided to give it a try and it was one of the best decisions I have made! Front staff was very friendly and welcoming, there was no wait time the assistance were also very kind and made sure that you were comfortable the whole time. The Dr was very kind and made sure to explain the treatment in detail! My insurance would not cover the whole treatment but they were able to offer financial options to cover the rest of the treatment. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a dental office!

I have visited many different dental offices in the past. But, I find this place to be one of the best. Dr. Kim is very confident, skillful, and also gentle. In particular, I really appreciated that Dr. Kim kindly explained about several treatment options I could have. I think he is a very trustworthy and reliable dentist. The receptionist (I believe her name is Kelly) and other staff members were very also very kind and friendly. There was almost on waiting time and they were very knowledgeable of my insurance coverage and the details. Even my 10-year-old son (whose tooth has been extracted) liked the people and his experience at this place. I would highly recommend this place.
