Dr. Allawnha (pronounced ala-wanna) was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and grew up in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Windsor, and afterwards was employed as an Emergency Department Nurse in Detroit, Michigan. He then relocated to Morgantown, West Virginia to pursue his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. He maintained his employment as an ED Nurse until his graduation from Dental School.
Dr. Allawnha is a warm and compassionate Dentist, who genuinely cares about the comfort and happiness of each of his patients. He listens thoroughly, and will go to any length to get to the root cause of a patients discomfort, or dental issue. His experience as an Emergency Department Nurse has taught him the importance of connecting with his patients, and he has seamlessly integrated this great level of care into his dentistry.
He has a fascination with the dental field and feels truly blessed to have found his passion in his professional work life. He loves to learn, and thoroughly enjoys remaining up to date on dental techniques and technologies as the field of dentistry progresses. Dr. Allawnha prioritizes the best interest of his patients and maintains the highest level of integrity in his practice to coincide with his core values.
Dr. Allawnha is thrilled to be putting down roots in Pinellas County, and looks so forward to becoming a part of the beautiful St. Pete Beach community. In his time outside of the office, Dr. Allawnha has many hobbies and interests, and is always enthusiastic about learning, and trying new things. He loves to travel, exercise, spend time outdoors, stay updated in technological current events, cook and try new cuisines, and spend time with his Wife, Family, and Friends.
It is my goal to make a difference in peoples lives. Nothing makes me happier or more humble than taking the pain away or making a patient smile. Being a dentist has been a blessing; I feel grateful for the trust that my patients have placed in me over the years. I have been practicing for over 37 years and have met so many wonderful people, and they have all enriched my life in one way or another.
Dr. John Penny graduated from Seminole High School, right here in Pinellas County, before attending the University of South Florida for his undergraduate education. He continued on to the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery there.
Dr. Penny is dedicated to keeping abreast of the ever-changing world of dentistry, as new technology emerges all the time. He understands the vital importance of keeping up to date, and is able to use the latest techniques and equipment to ensure that his patients have access to the latest diagnostic and preventive treatment methods.

Office staff got me in right away. They greeted me in a friendly manner. Dental assistant Collen was thorough, personable and professional, and took care of my x rays, explained procedure and answered my questions about payments so I can plan ahead. Dr. Allawnha also took time to explain my condition and offered choices for correcting my problem. I could not have asked for better treatment. Excellent in every way.

The dental hygenist, Lili is a marvel! We have gone to her for years. She does an excellent cleaning and her diagnostic measurements give us a clear understanding of where we need to concentrate our efforts. She is a sincere and caring person who easily becomes a favorite and a friend.

Lilly is the best! She's always so polite and friendly when she does my cleanings! Dr Abdullah, is kind and personable and always sees me immediately after cleaning. Office team is also friendly, even when it's extra busy at their desk, which it was today. Only area that could be improved is parking, because so many nearby residents or visitors park in the street spaces.

I previously had a very bad experience at another dentist in Clearwater and very hesitant to come to a new dentist.... After being a patient, I without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Allawnha and everyone at Century Dental. Avery, a very charming and sweet young lady, took my xrays and got me prepped for Dr. Allawnha. Dr. Allawnha was very thorough and personable, which is unfortunately not common to encounter in the medical field. He anwsered my questions and was very polite. Joan was my hygienist and was an absolute pleasure as well! Joan spent time educating me on my gum health, what different colors of tissue indicated, and toothbrush recommendations and rebates. Joan was very gentle throughout the cleaning and made my teeth sparkle! I cannot thank Regina enough who is always an absolute doll! I will be recommending everyone I know to come to this little hidden gem of an office. Can't wait to come back!

Told me my insurance is expired and after I got on the phone with Humana and confirmed I in fact do have coverage; they say it's too late now. Now I'm waiting another 6 months, great thanks!
