Dr. Rena Vakay received her doctor of dental surgery degree at Georgetown University Dental School in Washington, D.C. in 1982. Upon completion of her dental degree, Dr. Vakay continued her education at the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida and at Creating Restorative Excellence (CRE)/ The Kois Center in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Vakay has achieved Clinical Instructor status at the Kois Center. She also has achieved fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Vakay served 3 years on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and is past- President of their local chapter. Dr. Vakay also served as Chairman and on the Board of Directors of the Association of Contemporary Dental Education for 2 years. Dr. Vakay has served as Program Chairman for the Northern Virginia Dental Society. She received the Media Award for Excellence when she served as Public Information Officer of Virginia for the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Vakay is consistently voted among the Top Dentists in the Washington, D.C. area by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine. She was also voted into The Best Dentists in America and is listed in the Whos Who in Executives and Professionals. She shares her knowledge and love of dentistry in her lectures throughout the United States and has published several peer- reviewed dental articles.
Dr. Jason Abel is a native of Northern Virginia, having grown up in Vienna. He received a BA in Economics from the University of Virginia in 1999. After completing post-graduate studies at George Mason University, he earned his DDS degree from the VCU/MCV School of Dentistry in Richmond. Following dental school Dr. Abel entered private practice, first in Charlottesville, and then in Gainesville, VA. Dr. Abel has taken extensive continuing education in order to stay current and informed in the latest procedures and techniques in dentistry. He is a Preferred Provider of Invisalign invisible braces, and enjoys the opportunity to provide a wide range of dental treatment for his patients, including root canals, extractions, dentures, and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Abel is also a graduate of the prestigious Misch Implant Institute and is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI). He is a member of several other professional organizations, including the American Dental Association (ADA), Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), Virginia Dental Association (VDA), and the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS).
Dr. Abel also feels fortunate to be in a position to give back to the community by participating in outreach programs such as Give Kids a Smile and the Mission of Mercy (MOM) projects, which focus on providing dental care to the underserved patient population across Northern Virginia. He has also volunteered with Gainesville/Haymarket Rotary Clubs Childrens Wellness Festival, an event that allows underprivileged children to receive medical and dental screenings. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Abel enjoys playing baseball, Crossfit, snowboarding, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Ok, this is the first review I have EVER written. This morning I had a procedure done by Dr. Vakay with her assistant Christina, that was, without exception, the best experience at a dentist office I have ever encountered. The professionalism and expertise between these two was nothing short of a "dance." I felt that seamless interaction, put me at ease. The front desk is wonderful to work with. I left another practice in Haymarket because of the way they handled the financial. I have great dental insurance and was told as I was sitting in the chair, that the doctor would not do the procedure unless I gave them a credit card. At which point I demanded to see the doctor and told him I was aghast at his greater interest in getting paid than my teeth and walked out. This is how a dental office should run, and they have hit a very high mark as the daughter of an orthodontist. Bravo Team Centreville Wellness. Megan

I was in and out in under an hour getting a temporary crown. I had no pain. The procedure was seamless! I had waited 1 year to get the cracked tooth fixed and I am so happy with the results. Centreville Dental Wellness Center and Dr. Vakay and Christina are the best

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! I live in Tyson's corner and was getting my cleaning there, until a friend recommend me this place.! Nahzi was the lady that did my cleaning, no one before took the time to explain me the process, she took time to really clean them. I had an interest on Invisalign, and their prices were a lower than the Tysons corner area, Cristina also took time to explain me and show me on the computer how my teeth would move and the final resource. at my previous dentist they didn't explain or show anything, until paying for it. If you are a new customer or feel your current provider is nah, you should give them a try. I will update my review when the Invisalign is completed, so excited!

It was a wonderful experience! 2 years past since the last time I visited a dentist (not my favorite place to go) but my inner mind brought me here. I'm so glad I pay attention this time. The technology has improved so they can now not just x-ray but photography all surfaces in my mouth and I could see them very clearly. I'll be back soon for a consultation on straighten my teeth to prevent grinding. Very kind and helpful folks.

This practice has an incredible staff as well as the best dentists. They are preventative rather than fixing the problem after the fact although they can do that too. My teeth have never been in better condition and I am 61 years old!

I don't know who needs to hear this but... Nahzi is the best hygienist I've ever had. She's thorough, very knowledgeable, and such a pleasant person. I'm so glad I scheduled with her. The rest of the staff here were wonderful as well.

My experience was great from the beginning to the end of my appointment. I am big on customer service and this office exceeded my expectations. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by name (again, this was my first time in the office), and this just shows the attention to detail of knowing that I would be coming in for my appointment at the scheduled time. The staff was very welcoming and professional at the same time, never neglecting one for the other. Thanks again to everyone for making my first visit a welcoming one.

Dr. Vakay placed a crown today and Jasmine assisted her. Christina assisted in the prep work for my crown a couple of weeks ago. Centreville Dental Wellness Center is an amazing practice, I always have great experiences here!! The staff and dentists are caring and attentive, friendly and professional. They are about preventative health and assist patients in planning procedures and dental care to maximize health benefits and disease prevention while minimizing discomfort. I am dedicated to this practice as they are also dedicated to me. That is clear!

The Centreville Dental Wellness Center is hands-down the most warm and inviting dental experience I've ever had. They genuinely care about the patients over anything else and you can tell within the first few seconds of being there. There aren't enough good things to say about these folks!
