A native Virginian, Dr. Buckwalter grew up in Northern Virginia, moved to Richmond to attend Virginia Commonwealth University for her BS in Biomedical Engineering, and continued there to complete dental school in 2020. Afterwards, Dr. Buckwalter completed a general practice residency program in Roanoke, VA at Carilion Clinic. There she performed hospital dentistry, helping medically compromised patients in clinical, emergency department and operating room settings.
Giving back to the community is a huge part of Dr. Buckwalters desire to be a dentist. She has attended multiple Missions of Mercy events, and has been active with The Jamaica Project, organizing fundraisers and even traveling to Trelawny, Jamaica. She hopes to continue her work there and anywhere she can help underserved communities.
In her free time, Dr. Buckwalter enjoys hiking with her dog Cheesecake, singing spontaneously, eating and cooking everything (with a focus on Korean dishes ) and acrylic flow art painting. Dr. Howard is incredible. He has taken care of our family for years. Time and time again he proves that he cares about his patients. Especially tonight... My daughter has been in pain all day, and Dr. Howard was very quick to respond to her needs. He even met her at the office when the office was closed on a holiday to get her out of pain until normal business hours. Dr. Howard always has gone above and beyond for our family. If you're scared of the dentist or the drill or the needle... this is definitely the place to go. No matter how nervous you are, Dr. Howard knows how to put you at ease and get your teeth to a healthy place. Thank you Dr. Howard!

The health of your teeth is very important. Dr Howard has been my dentist for years. His staff is warm, courteous and always willing to work with you. I am forever in debt to my dentist Dr.Howard and my orthodontist Mark Blanchette for my fantastic smile! Remember, your smile is what people notice first, make a good impression and make your dental health a priority!

Jennifer Goff~I cracked my tooth on a popcorn kernel last night. Was on the phone with Chelsea at the Lynchburg office by 8:05am. She took the time to talk to Dr. Davis and get me worked in by 11:45am! They have the friendliest office staff, dental assistants and hygienists. The atmosphere there is very different than some practices in our area. Dr. Davis was very kind and comforting as usual and had me in and out with minimal pain in no time. He is great about providing dental care with as little pain as possible and is very thorough about after care and infection prevention.

My first appointment there was pleasant. We planned to drill and fill 2 teeth. I was recommended to see Dr. Howard but he was booked up for some time so I saw Dr. Greene. Within a couple days one of my teeth started to hurt pretty uncomfortably. I called and she got me in. She then told me both teeth would need root canals- we went back and forth about how I couldn't afford it, was she sure she couldn't just fill them (the original plan) And if not they would just have to be pulled because I cannot afford the root canal. She seemed frustrated about this- and then suddenly changed her mind that one of the teeth could be saved and didn't need a root canal? I was feeling confused and like I was being lied to and being told I needed a more expensive procedure I didn't need. She drilled both teeth- filled the one (which has had no problems so it clearly didn't need the root canal she was wanting me to get) but the other she told me she not only could not fill, but could not pull. She said it was too brittle and would break off and would have to be surgically removed. She sent me to a dental surgeon who pulled that tooth out in the most quick easy extraction. It was not too brittle to pull. It did not need to be surgically removed. I left so confused and upset. It really felt like I got a perfectly okay tooth could've been saved by a filling extracted because someone was frustrated about not making more money. Confusing. Upsetting.

Thee best dentistry I've been to. Hands down. I called with extreme pain in my mouth. Debbie was extremely understanding and was able to get me in the same day! When I got there they rushed me in AS A NEW PATIENT. Chelsea and Kelsey helped me with paperwork and were just incredibly kind and understanding. Everyone was. If you're looking for a GREAT Dentist this is the place.

I hate going to the dentist (like any normal person), but I kind of love this place. Such a positive energy in the building. Everyone seems to like each other and really enjoy doing what they're doing. Dr. Greene is the dentist I am with and really appreciate both her ability and her approach. All in all, about as enjoyable as a trip to the dentist can be. Very satisfied.

It was my first time there as a new patient decided to switch because of insurance purposes. My first experience wasn't a pleasant one. When I walked in I didn't like the vibe of the whole office including Dr. Greene. She was rough scrapping my teeth and when it came time to rinsing my mouth out she had water running all down the side of my face down my neck. Never had that happen to me at my previous dentist. The dental assistant halfway flossed my teeth. I have a permanent retainer on my bottom teeth and she didn't use a floss threader to get in between my teeth. Afterwards my teeth was hurting and I've never had that experience before. It all felt rushed even though I was the last patient of the day (appointment at 4:00pm). Definitely my first and last time being seen there. I will gladly let Altavista Dental file out of network before I go back here.
