Thanks to science, modern techniques allow our patients to receive dental treatment without the pain and time associated with old-fashioned dentistry. Dental technology is even being developed to make dental X-rays safer and more convenient.
While dental X-rays emit low amounts of radiation and every precaution is taken to protect patients from exposure, some dental patients may still put off dental X-rays for safety reasons. Dental X-rays bring up other issues for patients, including the wait time for film to be developed and environmental concerns. Dentists are addressing these issues with digital radiography, a high-tech replacement for traditional dental X-rays.
The physical process for digital radiography is actually similar to traditional dental X-rays that use film: With digital radiography, your dentist inserts a sensor into your mouth to capture images of your teeth -- but that's where the similarities between conventional and digital dental X-rays end. Although it resembles the film used for bite-wings and other X-rays, the digital sensor is electronic and connected to a computer. Once the X-ray is taken, the image is projected on a screen for your dentist to view.
Less Radiation -- The equipment used in digital radiography exposes dental patients to much less radiation. In fact, digital X-rays use up to 90 percent less radiation than film X-rays. While conventional dental X-rays are relatively safe, digital radiography is an excellent option for those who take X-rays on a regular basis or for those who are concerned about radiation.
When you have X-Rays taken in our office, you won't have to wait for X-Ray film to be developed. You willimmediately see a digital X-Ray image on a computer monitor, very near the chair you're sitting in. There's no waiting for the film to be developed, so you don't waste your time. Digital radiography exposes you to up to 90 percent less radiation than traditional film X-Rays do. It's much safer than the old technology, and with this important new tool, you'll be involved in treatment planning much more than before. The large images, combined with tools that enable us to highlight potential problem areas on the screen so you can see them, enable you to understand just what we are talking about. In our practice, you're directly involved in treatment planning, so you know just what to expect.

Yesterday for the first time I had Sarah for a cleaning. She was excellent and caring and explaining everything to me. Also for the first time I had Dr. O'Neill and she was explaining treatment plans for me as I have a problem. She was very caring in explaining things to me. Have been coming here for 25 years and will never leave this practice.

Fantastic staff! From the front desk to the hygienists to the dentists, everyone is very friendly and efficient. The hygienists always take great care knowing your sensitivities/concerns and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Highly recommend this practice!!

Doctor O'Neill is the most fantastic dentist ever. I used to have extremely severe anxiety going to the dentist for any sort of fillings dental work and would put it off intentionally because I felt like I had no way to communicate or advocate for myself if I was uncomfortable etc. Doctor O'Neill took time to sit and talk with me one on one our first times meeting to discuss how to keep me calm and make the experience as anxiety free as possible. I feel very safe and comfortable coming here. All the staff is kind and professional! I also meant to add to my previous review. Sarah is the most kind and caring Dental Hygienist in the world! She was able to help me overcome my fear and shame of letting my teeth go to the wayside when my mental health wasn't the best. She is always easy to communicate, professional, and just a stand up person! My dental health would not have been nearly the same without her patience and understanding.

I took my grandmother there today for her dental appointment the office is amazingly clean well inviting the staff was very friendly our wait time was nothing since we put our name and we were being called and I like the idea that they did have a ramp because my grandmother has a walker and a wheelchair and I also like how they took care of her and her needs at the time of our visit I would recommend this dentist
