Dentistry has allowed me to use the gifts Ive been given to care for people and build relationships. As a family-focused, general dentist,I have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and connect with them regularly.The variety is a real privilege.Im able to see children as young as infants and celebrate with them when their first tooth falls out.Im also able to help adult patients regain a healthy mouth and beautiful smiles.I enjoy the artistry and care involved in dentistry, but also highly value the relationships with my patients and staff.

Following dental school, I continued my education as a resident at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI where I gained valuable experience with crowns, bridges, implants and dentures.In addition, Ive also pursued continuing education opportunities allowing me to provide Invisalign, Sleep Apnea (Snoring) Appliances, and to treat TMJ disorders.Its been my goal to provide the best treatment possible for my patients in a safe, high quality office environment. Above all, my goal is to provide that treatment with compassion focusing on how I can make each person as comfortable as possible.

My wife, Jill, and I have been blessed with four wonderful children- Kate, Emily, Andrew and Ben. We have two dogs - Bodie and Rowan. We enjoy the outdoors and spend our time as a family at the beach, on the lake and hiking. Personally, I also enjoy fishing and hunting.

Learning the personal story behind each patient is what I enjoy most about being a dentist. Getting to know each individual allows me to tailor treatment to their needs and goals inthe most compassionate way possible. Maintaining esthetic and functional oral health for each patient is my goal.

Following graduation from dental school, I was employed at Cherry Health Services, a community based health center in Grand Rapids. Here I was able to provide compassionate care to under served patients with a wide variety of needs. The vast experiences and knowledge I gained there have served as a valuable foundation for my career moving forward.

Throughout the year I diligently advance my knowledge base through continuing education.This allows me to offer my patients the most current treatment options to best suit their particular dental needs.

I live in Hudsonville with my lovely wife, Nicole, who is also a dentist. We have been blessed with two children, Sofie and Liam. I enjoy being active outdoors, trying to make the most out of each beautiful season. As a family we enjoy camping and movie nights together. We are members of Fellowship Reformed Church in Hudsonville, striving to grow in our faith and following where God may lead us.

I am most passionate about serving my patients and meeting their dental needs and expectations. I strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment in which my patients feel comfortable. I get most excited when restoring someones mouth and body to health, whether it is with education, restorations/fillings, or replacing missing teeth. I enjoy paying attention to the detail it takes to provide high quality dental care and the time it takes to build a lasting relationship.

I take continuing education courses through the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. It is my goal to utilize the best, most predictable ways of treatment to meet my patients needs. Continuing education allows me to stay current in the field and deepen my understanding of how to provide the very best possible care to all my patients.

I enjoy being outside: I love to run, swim and play all types of sports. I also enjoy watching the University of Michigan sportsand occasionally getting back to Ann Arbor for a game. I enjoy reading and playing board games with family and friends. Most importantly is my walk with Christ and learning how God is directing my life.

Being active in my community is important because I believe we are called to support and help one another and grow together.Dentistry has helped me understand the importance of serving. The ability to take care of someones dental needs brought me and my wife to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. We lived there for the year of 2013 and served with a Christian mission organization, World Gospel Outreach. We worked alongside churches in that city to serve the community and show Gods love by taking care of some of their needs. Serving in Honduras helped me see the importance of dental care and how fortunate we are to have access to it. Using the gifts God has given me to serve others is what provides me with lasting satisfaction. We plan to return to serve in the mission field on short-term trips, to Honduras or wherever else God leads!

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry from providing adult patient care to pediatric patient care. The relationships Ive built over the years mean so much to me. I feel very fortunate to have been given the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of people, and to provide the quality of care I can truly be proud of.

While continuing education is a requirement to maintain my dental license, it also allows me to provide the highest standard of care to my patients. Most recently, I have advanced my knowledge and training in implant dentistry, snoring and sleep apnea treatment, periodontal therapy, tooth restoration, and pediatric dentistry.

I am originally from the Lansing area and live in Grandville. I have been blessed with two wonderful children; family is very important to me and I try to spend as much time with my loved ones as possible. When I am not in the office I enjoy working in the yard, going for drives with my boys, and attending sporting events.
