Ever since he started practicing, one of his largest priorities was making patients feel comfortable during their preventive exams and treatments. The moment he can eliminate any stress from patients minds, the more he enjoys providing the care that you and your family are looking for.
When we look back at how Dr. Raj got to this point, it makes much more sense why he chose dentistry as his career path. A large part of his childhood involved being in close proximity of a dentist, but not in the way youd might think.
His dad worked as a pharmacist, so Dr. Raj was familiar with the medical industry at a young age. Since the dentist was right next door to his dads business, he could easily visit his doctor, even when he didnt have a cleaning scheduled. As he got older, he began to look up to the dentist and realized he wanted to be one himself. After graduating high school, Dr. Raj began attending dental school almost immediately.
In India, students can attend dental school shortly after graduating high school. Over the next five years, Dr. Raj obtained fantastic dental education. After graduating in India, he worked as an associate dentist for three years. This would give him fantastic clinical, hands-on experience that would be useful once he moved to America. By 2005, he moved to the U.S. and attended New York Universitys College of Dentistry.
In 2011, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and completed his Certificate program in Esthetic and Comprehensive Dentistry. One of his favorite topics in dentistry is cosmetics, so hes happy to provide many expansive smile makeovers for patients who are interested. Today, he works with a local lab to make all necessary restorations for patients.
Since he moved to the U.S., Dr. Raj has started a family of his own. Hes been married to his wife Bhavna for 10 years and has two daughters who are 11 and 4 years old. When hes not providing dental care to patients, hes playing volleyball with his family, traveling the country, and cheering on his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers.
When it comes to dentistry, Dr. Rajs passion truly shines through. Imagine going to school twice just so you can provide care in a brand-new country! Of course, this only made Dr. Raj better prepared to provide the Canonsburg community a very high standard of care.
