Center for Pediatric Dentistry - Pediatric dentist in Seattle, WA

The Centerfor Pediatric Dentistry includes a Dental Surgical Center (DSC) that allows many young patients to receive dental care under general anesthesia at their regular dental home. We also welcome patients from throughout the community who need pediatric dentalsurgery services.

The Dental Surgical Center recognizes our regions strong demand for pediatric dental surgery services and is meeting those needs through state-of-the-art technology and a staff that specializes in the latest procedures for children, says Dr. Travis Nelson, Clinical Associate Professor and Clinical Director.

During a typical surgical visit patients and their families check in at The Center for Pediatric Dentistrys front desk and are escorted into the Dental Surgical Center by a dental assistant, who records the patients height, weight and blood pressure and reviews pertinent information with the family. The dentist and the anesthesiologist then meet the family, explain the procedure and answer any questions. When the patient is brought into an operating room, family members make themselves comfortable in the bright waiting area.

After their procedure, patients are taken to a recovery room, where family members join them and receive post-operative instructions from the dentist and an update from the anesthesia team. Families exit via a private door to the parking lot.

We are very pleased to welcome patients to our Dental Surgical Center, says Dr. Nelson. Our goal is to improve access to care by providing shorter wait times for surgery and offering financially feasible options in a safe, warm and friendly atmosphere.

I think their management system has some problems, that's why talked with two representatives and both of them can't understand my English. I think they don't want to talk with anyone whose first language is not English, even if you can speak clearly. Or still management system problem, because they can't get enough good quality devices to support the clearly voice call. I am confused, why each time I went to their dentistry all nurses and dentists we meet were so friendly, and why phone experience are so bad. I planned give only one star, but thinking of dentists and nurses, I give 3 stars.

Absolutely love them I was their patient since they were in a different location, by far one of the best dentist I've been too. Amazing staff! Sadly I'm almost 19 so I couldn't keeping going to this dentist. Dr. Garcia is the best she is a wonderful dentist and person. She inspired me to want to become a pediatric dentist.

They were alright. The assistant who was doing the initial exam on my 1-year old said that "she'll probably cry! But that's okay, it's easy to see their teeth when they cry" which was funny, but might not amuse everyone. Incidentally my daughter did not cry, she opened her mouth for them and was generally a good sport. When i tried to schedule the next appointment, the gal at the desk was getting ready to leave for the day and wasn't super nice about it, but everybody has days.

My daughter came here for a procedure and this dental assistant with a hispanic accent was extremely rude. No compassion to console an anxious child. I tried to console my daughter and this employee just aggressively told me to move out of the way. We paid for this procedure (private pay + insurance) and she treated a patient like we get the procedure done for free. I hope she still have her job there--- maybe she should consider working somewhere she dont have to deal with people especially kids.

I will never bring my child back to that dental clinic again.. They were incredibly rude and insensitive to my child's particular special needs.. they were snippy.. my child was clearly overwhelmed and stressed and they did nothing to help my child. I will never come back

Terrible experience overall. They don't require a covid terst for an exam , but require it for fillings. My daughter should not have to be violated and assaulted nasally when she has zero symptoms, just to get a filling. I should also have the freedom to take her wherever I want to get a covid test if i so choose to do so, but they require a nasalpharyngial test for a 7 year old at Seattle Childrens. When I requested her XRays and records back in early March as well as filling out the necessary paperwork and emailing to the UW School of Dentistry Records. No one called me back or responded or sent her records for more than 4 weeks!!!!! This is ridiculous. I had to send 2 follow up emails and left 2 voicemails, just to get her records. This is ABSOLUTELY NOT OK. THEY ARE COMPLETELY DISORGANIZED. I feel like my daughter was treated like a covid statstic rather than a patient. UW has gone downhill

My 1 year old just had his first dental appointment ever here and I'm so glad we chose The Center for Pediatric Dentistry. The staff was super friendly from the front desk throughout the entire appointment. They really made my scared toddler at ease. The doctor was very informative and patient.

Pretty much any dentist would be better than this. What you get is: - inexperienced students doing the work. They're supervised by sometimes multiple senior dentists simultaneously, which generates stressful environment for both children and parents. - horrendous billing practices: even though our insurance paid for our service, they're still trying to charge us full amount - complete inaccessibility and unwillingness to solve said billing issues. Both me and insurance rep left multiple messages for their billing department - never got a call back. At this point I'm pretty much forced to pay the full amount out of pocket to avoid being passed to collections.

I have to say that this is one of the best places I've been, as far as feeling like I can trust them to do what's best for my children. They partner with Children's and that makes it feel safer. They took care of my son during, before and after surgery. I'm super picky and have horrible anxiety, they made me and my child feel at ease.

Worst dental experience ever! My daughter is 8 and has always been an excellent dental patient, follows directions, never gets upset. Not only were the students inept and inexperienced the instructor was as well. The 3 of them fumbled around trying to place a dental dam for nearly 40 minutes. By the time it was placed my daughter was shaking and crying. I left without filling the cavity and will never return.
