It is a pleasure and an honor to help the people in the Cedar Valley community get the smiles they deserve. The people in this area are the best, and I love creating beautiful smiles for them and watching them get excited as their appearance and confidence change. Along with my team, we take care of our patients as if they were members of our family.

Since Im an active member of numerous professional organizations, I have many opportunities to continue my education through courses and seminars on the newest and most effective orthodontic technology. In addition to being board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, I am also a member of the American Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, past president of the Iowa Society of Orthodontists, and the Black Hawk County Dental Society.

I firmly believe it is my calling to help in our community. I am strongly active in my church and am on the executive board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Cedar Valley. I also participate by sponsoring many local sports and fundraising events that help to improve our area.

I grew up and graduated from high school in Mason City, and currently live in Cedar Falls. My wife Brooke and I have been married for almost 20 years. We have two daughters, McKenna and Kate, a son named Cullen, and a dog, Maizy. I love to spend time with my family most of all, but when I have free time, I also enjoy hunting, fishing, playing golf, and watching college sports.

I am married to Mike, who is a farmer. We have three married daughters and three granddaughters. I enjoy spending time with my family and going on family vacations. I am actively involved and volunteer in our community and at our church, and also enjoy working in my vegetable and flower garden.

I assist Dr. Holahan by taking X-rays and impressions of our patients teeth, fabricating retainers, and most important, making sure our patients are happy and smiling when they leave our office. Ive been working in the orthodontic field for a decade, and joined Dr. Holahans team in 2007. I love seeing each individual patients transition into a beautiful smile and feel very fortunate to be a part of such a great experience. Our office has a friendly, family-oriented atmosphere and a team that is second to none.

I have been assisting Dr. Holahan in creating beautiful smiles since 2010 when I graduated from Hawkeye Community College. Getting to know our patients and their families is the best part of my job. Theyre all such interesting people and I love seeing their smile transformations. Dr. Holahan is a great person to work for. He is patient andcourteous, and treats his patients and staff with care and respect.

Orthodontic appliances are made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to the proper position.

Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can now choose clear or metal brackets and, in some cases, the color of your appliance.
