Dr. T has been working in Cedar Falls since June of 1977. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa and his DDS degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Mac is a 1979 Graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He was born and raised in Clarion, Iowa and moved to Belmond, Iowa shortly after graduating from Dental School where he had a private General Practice there for 22 years.
Dr. Hannah Leuschen to the CVDA family! Dr. Leuschen is originally from Garner, IA but has been practicing in the Cedar Valley for the last 3 years. She attended Central College for her undergraduate where she met her now husband, Jordan, who works with Financial Architects in Cedar Falls. After graduating from Central she moved on to the University of Iowa where she received her DDS.
Dr. Sam Kim joined the CVDA team in May of 2019. He is originally from Daegu South Korea and moved to the United State in 2006 to pursue his college degree. He attended the University of Pittsburgh for his undergraduate degree and received his DDS from the University of Iowa in 2014.
Dr. Keith Mahipala, or Dr. Keith, joined the CVDA team in September of 2019. He is from Plano, Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin State Univeristy for his undergraduate degree. Dr. Keith attended Baylor College of Dentistry for his DDS and then made his way to Fairbanks Alaska where he practiced at the Tanana Chiefs Conference before joining CVDA.
Dr. Josh Hones,or 'Dr. Josh' joined the CVDA team in June of 2021. He is originally from Pella, IA. He attended Wartburg College in Waverly for his undergraduate degree and received his DDS from the University of Iowa in 2019. In 2019 Dr. Josh returned to his hometown to work at Recker Dental Care in Pella before deciding to make the trek up to the Cedar Valley. Dr. Josh and his wife Megan enjoy spending time outdoors, bike riding and travelling.

We had a great experience. I definitely recommend if you have little ones. I had to take my two year old daughter with me to get my teeth checked and cleaned and they were very accommodating and patient. The woman who cleaned my teeth was super friendly and helpful as was everyone else working there.

I have been in pain every day for 30 years - Dr Trunnell caused serious, permanent damage to my jaw by ripping a wisdom tooth out of my face when he was supposed to be pulling baby teeth. He should have stopped when he realized his mistake, but he braced himself against the chair as I was screaming in pain and pulled with all his strength until the tooth broke, and then he dug the rest of it out. It was horrifying and gruesome and I have to live with it every day of my life. He never apologized.

My mom went there for many years, but on her most recent visit, the office was rude to her. The secretaries that work for Dr.Trunell aren't caring or understanding anymore. They were disrespectful to a senior in her 70's. I would not recommend them.

I have struggled to find a good dentist since moving to the area and I am so happy to have found Cedar Valley Dental Associates! Dr. Brummer is absolutely kind and gentle. Fixing my cavities was 100% painless. Pricing is affordable and they don't use scare tactics to con you into spending money. My only critique is that processing my insurance was incredibly confusing. Otherwise, I highly reccomend Cedar Valley Dental Associates to care for your dental hygiene!

Dr. Brummer is amazing! Yesterday, my daughter had an accident at school, and we were concerned that she might have hurt her teeth. Dr. Brummer was available to take a look and reassure both my daughter and I that it would be okay! I highly recommend the practice.

Dr T is the best. Hygienists are friendly and answered all my questions and made it a comfortable experience. Dr T has bent over backwards to make sure I was comfortable and has been a amazing dentist taking me from really poor teeth to dentures without pain. Dentures fit from the get go with minor adjustments. Best dentist I have ever been to.

I get so nervous going to the dentist that said, this was the best dentist office I have ever been to and I am not young. There is none of the odors you associate with a dentist office which was wonderful. All the staff are kind and helpful putting me at ease. I am not dreading my next appointment for the first time ever!
