Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Dr. Ruggiero attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where he received his Bachelors degree. He earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from The University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Ruggiero is known for his honest, direct approach to dentistry. He takes the time to educate patients, keeping them informed about their options and helping them make the best possible decisions for the health and well-being of their smiles. He helps patients relax and feel at-ease with his calm demeanor, patience, and great sense of humor.
When hes not in the office, Dr. Ruggiero enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelly, his daughter Sophia, and their dog, Nate. He also enjoys conquering projects around the house, working on cars, playing frisbee golf, and doing anything in the water.
As a proud native of Cedar Rapids Dr. Ruggiero is honored to be able to serve the dental needs of the community that is so special to him. He looks forward to meeting every new patient who walks through the door.
Tina has been a Registered Dental Assistant for over 13 years, and she thoroughly enjoys the variety that working in a family dental practice offers. She loves that her job allows her to meet new people, and see families grow and expand over time. Tina is married with five children and seven grandchildren, and she loves spending time with all of them. She also loves traveling, shopping, and attending her grandchildrens activities.
Megan earned her Associate of Applied Science from Kirkwood Community College in 2012, and later joined our team in 2018. She volunteered with a dental clinic in Guatemala and in 2012 received the Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler award. She loves the opportunity to help patients and provide quality care based on their individual needs. She always enjoys the chance to get to know her patients and their families. Outside of the office, Megan loves spending time with her husband and their three children.
Kelsey earned her degree in dental hygiene from Baker College and joined our team in 2021. Shes since obtained certifications in local anesthetic administration and Registered Dental Assisting. Kelsey also received the Hu-Friedy Outstanding Clinician Award for her volunteer work, and is a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha National Dental Hygiene Society. She loves the chance to help patients maintain a healthy smile that theyre proud to show off. She takes time to get to know each patient, and always looks forward to seeing them at their next dental visit. Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys playing sand volleyball, going on walks with her Golden Retriever Oliver, and playing cribbage with her husband Jon.
Kimberly earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Iowa State University in 2012, and completed her Dental Assisting degree at Kirkwood Community College in 2017. She joined our team in 2021, and has earned additional certifications as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant and a Qualified Dental Assistant. She was recognized as Student of the Year by Kirkwood Community College and loves to help people, whether shes aiding her coworkers, boss, or her wonderful patients. She strives to get to know each patient and help reduce their anxiety while receiving the dental care they need and deserve. When not in the office, Kimberly enjoys spending time with her two daughters!
Heather graduated from Kirkwood Community College with her Associate of Applied Science degree in 2014. She joined our team in 2021, and has completed special certifications in Expanded Functions and is certified by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Heather often volunteers with iMOM, His Hands Free Clinic, and the National Fragile X Foundation. She loves the opportunity to help our patients have a wonderful time in the office, and looks forward to hearing about their unique experiences. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, volunteering, and spending time with her friends and family.
Adrienne graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and a minor in Alcohol and Drug Studies in 2011. She joined our team in August 2021. She has also volunteered her time with Toys for Tots and her local food pantry. Adrienne loves the opportunity to work in an environment that truly cares about the wellbeing of others and enjoys taking on different tasks throughout the day and contributing to the success of the office! Her hobbies include painting, sewing, decorating, and fragrance & scent collecting.

Dr. Ruggiero is great along with all of the office staff and hygienists. Overall pleasant experience, especially if you are nervous and don't like the dentist.

I am a very happy patient. I asked him to replace an restoration on my front tooth that I chipped many years ago. I am very satisfied with the results. It looks perfect. When I showed the results to one of my dentist friends, she said "He did GREAT WORK! Matching a single front tooth is one of the toughest aesthetic cases."

Dr. Ruggiero is an awesome dentist!!!! My entire family goes to him. We couldn't be happier with him and his staff. His approached is conservative, he's gentle and I appreciate that. I recommend him . I had a filling replaced, and during the numbing part I never felt the poke. I was so happy

Dr. Ruggiero is hands down the best dentist I have ever encountered. Going to the dentist or getting any dental work done used to be my biggest fear. I was one of those people who believe, "if it's not broken, don't fix it," so I would only go to when something was hurting. I finally got the courage to go for a check up, and Dr. Ruggiero changed every stereotype I have ever believed about dentists. He and his team are so caring and thorough with their work, they make you feel like family. I would (and will) trust Dr. Ruggiero with any of my future dental work. 5 stars, well deserved - wish I could rate him higher.

Although I'm not a fan of being in dental clinic, I found this clinic, Dr Ruggiero, and the team amazing. They were super clean, caring and professional.

I used to hate going to the dentist until I found Dr. Anderson and his staff. He has always been kind and when I had a cavity filled he did such a wonderful job that I didn't feel anything, NOT even the injection to numb the area. They also never made me feel bad about the extended time I went without a dentist before becoming their patient. Nobody wants to be lectured about what they already know and have anxiety over. The hygienist was understanding and sympathetic of my previous experiences at different offices. She simply offered to schedule my next cleaning/check so we could get into a good routine. I haven't had a problem since. I no longer feel anxiety prior to my appointment. I know I'm in good, gentle hands with Dr. Anderson and the rest of the staff.

One thing that stands out from my experience with Dr. Ruggiero is that I truly felt cared for. I was sure I was in the hands of a Dr whose primary concern is my well being and what's good for me. He was very informative and clear in explaining the flaws with my teeth and the different options I had to fix them, which made the experience very educational and entertaining. Look no more for another dentist, he has it all!

I had an emergency on my short visit to cedar rapids and I called Dr. R' office and He got me in immediately. He was friendly and very skilled. He definitely raised the bar for my next dental appointment at home.highly recommended.

I have only seen Dr. Ruggiero a few times as a patient but I can confidently tell you his work is phenomenal. I was referred to him by a good friend of mine, Kodi. The first thing she said to me was that I wouldn't regret the choice of choosing his office and she was absolutely correct. If you're looking for someone who cares, is competent in his work, and doesn't mind a few jokes now and then, do yourself a favor and choose Dr. Ruggiero.

I started seeing Dr. Ruggiero a while back. He has always been kind and well mannered. The work he's done for me has given me no problems, unlike other dentists in the past that have had to redo their treatment a few times. I strongly recommend Dr. Ruggiero to anyone looking for quality dentistry done by a caring individual.

As a dentist myself, it's always hard for me to trust anyone with my own teeth. I have been going to Dr. Ruggerio since I moved to Iowa from NYC. I always feel like I'm visiting with a friend. The staff is wonderful and Dr. R is even more so! His dentistry and treatment planning skills are superb and you should never have to worry about being over treated (I didn't reveal that I'm a dentist till the end of the appointment!) He goes above and beyond to make sure he is offering the least invasive treatment.
