We are a family-oriented practice that treats patients of all ages in a comfortable and welcoming environment. We specialize in all aspects of dentistry including but not limited to orthodontics, endodontics (root canals), implants, Invisalign, and non-surgical periodontics (gum treatments).

In 1995 Doctors Jay and Janice Cazes opened Cazes Family Dentistry. Their goal was to create a friendly environment where people could come and become not only patients, but part of our family. Doctors Jay and Janice met at Georgetown University School of Dentistry, then went on to do hospital based general practice residencies. They have achieved prestigious Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry awards. In addition they have completed advanced training in orthodontics, implant dentistry, and root canal treatment. They currently teach at Morristown Memorial Hospital and at Practical Clinical Courses in Provo, Utah. The doctors are always looking at the latest techniques and procedures to provide state of the art care for their patients.

Both of our Long Valley dentists have reached mastership candidate status to become recipients of the Mastership of Academy of General Dentistry. This award is only achieved by approximately 1% of dentists in the country. As such, Cazes Family Dentistry is able to provide comprehensive, quality dental care to patients of all ages without having to frequently refer people to other providers.

Dr. Jay Cazes received his degree in Biochemistry from the State University of Stony Brook before going on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Georgetown University in 1990. Dr. Jay then completed a general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital and received advanced orthodontics training from the United States Dental Institute.

Outside of work, Dr. Jay enjoys running and recreational bicycling on long distance rides. He has completed the Grand Fondo in New Jersey a number of times, as well as the Princeton Century Ride and Revolutionary Ramble. He and Dr. Janice have two children that they enjoy spending time with.

Dr. Janice Cazes earned a degree in Physics (with High Honors) from Rochester Institute of Technology, before completing her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Georgetown University in 1988. She completed a general practice residency program at Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York and a mini-residency in New York, where she focused on periodontics.

When Dr. Janice isnt in the office, she is an avid marathoner. In fact, shes run both the Steamtown Marathon in Scranton, PA as well as the Boston Marathon. If youre out and about in town, theres a good chance youll spot her, squeezing in a long run as she trains for her next race.

They are also mentors with Gordon J. Christensen at Practical Clinical Courses training center in Provo, Utah. Through this mentorship program, they train fellow dentists via hands-on courses four to five times a year, not to mention receiving upwards to 200 hours annually of continuing education on their own.

Outside of work, they are also board members of an Equine Special Assistance Program (Freedom Horse, LLC) to provide equine assisted hippotherapy for individuals recovering from trauma, PTSD, and other needs.In addition, they are also board members at their local religious organization.

A native of New Jersey, Joy has lived in Independence for 28 years. She has been a dental assistant for 34 years, and isone of the founding members of our team, joining the practice in 1997. She has been working chair side with both Dr. Jay and Dr. Janice since then, taking time to attenda variety of educational programs.

Diane has been a member of the Long Valley community since 1972. She graduated from the Katherine Gibb Secretarial School as an executive secretary with special emphasis in business, accounting and banking. Another founding member of Cazes Family Dentistry, Diane joined our team as a dental assistant in 1997. Since then she has been a familiarface to patients both in the treatment areas, as well as at the front desk.

Fifteen years ago, Jen started in dentistry as a dental assistant. She then continued her education, obtainingher degree in Dental Hygiene andLocal Anesthesia Licensefrom the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2009. She stays current in the field by being an active member of the American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA). Jen was also selected to be, and is currently, a memberof the Colgate Dentaladvisory board.

Estherhas worked in the dental administration field forover thirtyyears. Her background includes dental insurance management, patient care and a variety of administrative skills. Esther is happily married forover 35 years,and hastwo adult children, She enjoys tennis, reading and playing with her dog.

After meeting in dental school, Drs. Jay and Janice Cazes moved from Brooklyn and the Bronx to become a part of the Long Valley Community and raise their family here. In 1995, they founded Cazes Family Dentistry in their new home. Here, they deliver compassionate oral health services to all individuals, regardless of their age or special needs.
