At Cayo Dental Care, we are serious about performing superior dental treatment, and we are proud of our dedication to our patients. Many of our patients and their families have returned year after year because they genuinely feel cared for from the moment they step in the front door.
Dr. Krista Cayo and the rest of our team provide a comfortable atmosphere in which dental services are done in a friendly and caring environment. We want our patients to be involved in their treatment options, so we strive to inform and educate why we may recommend certain procedures. Patients themselves play a very important role in their oral health, and we take an active position to help them achieve dental health.
Dr. Cayo is originally from Mascoutah, IL and she's been improving patients' smiles since 2010. She attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and continued in the School of Dental Medicine in Alton, Illinois to earn her doctoral degree. When she first went to college, she originally wanted to become a journalist or crime scene investigator. However, after not-so-pleasantly receiving a root canal, she thought to herself that she could do much better than that, and she changed her career path. Today, she loves helping patients be confident about their smiles and oral health!
Additionally, she works with the charity Give Kids a Smile and the Jamaica Dental Mission Trip thats associated with her dental school. In the future, she would love to participate in and/or organize more international dental mission trips.
Tracy has been working in the oral healthcare field for nearly two full decades, with a majority of that spent as a dedicated hygienist. Originally from St. Ann, she completed her education at Forest Park Community College. She loves that her position offers such a great blend of science and helping others. She takes pride in educating patients, caring for them, and helping them feel confident about their smiles! Outside of the office, she is happily married with two kids and a brand-new adopted puppy. In her free time, she is a very busy Dance Mom and also enjoys watching college football, working out with her husband, and trying new recipes.
Before Ashley joined our team in 2020, she had seven years of experience in the dental field. She attended St. Charles Community College at Forest Park for her schooling and is certified in nitrous oxide sedation. More than anything else at Cayo Dental Care, she loves being part of a warm, welcoming team of professionals who serve patients to the best of their ability. Born in England, Ashley spends her free time being outdoors, swimming, going to the movies, and making memories with friends and family.
Candace is originally from St. Louis and has been working in the world of dentistry for 15 years and counting. She earned her Associates Degree from St. Louis Community College and received her CDA certificate in 2007, also attending a Dental Boot Kamp in 2004 and 2006. She loves that her job allows her to meet new people and educate them about the importance of their mouth. Shehas been married for almost a decade and has two wonderful young children. Outside of the office, she enjoys being with her family, reading, and cooking. She also loves to dance in fact, she was a cheerleader in high school!
A Missouri native, Sophie is an alumnus of Missouri State University. She has continued to prioritize her education by becoming a Certified Registered Central Service Technician, and she hopes to enter dental school in the near future. Until then, she is thoroughly enjoying serving our patients as a dental assistant in such a positive environment! Outside of dentistry, her interests include hand lettering, styling outfits, and hanging out with her dog, Dapple. She also has a deep love for Halloween!
