In 2001, Arcora Foundation developed Cavity Free Kids (CFK) to help Head Start providers teach children and their families about tooth decay and what they can do to prevent it. Since then this curriculum has been adapted for use in a variety of early learning settings including child care, home visiting, libraries, childrens museums and play and learn groups. CFK is being used in Washington and throughout the country.
With an emphasis on prevention, Arcora works closely with partners to develop and implement long-lasting, innovative programs and public policies. Arcora partners include business, labor and education groups, childrens and seniors organizations, dental and medical providers and state and local agencies.
Arcora analyzes oral health data and trends, shares best practices provides grant funding and works across the state to advocate for improved oral health. Educating the public and policymakers about the importance of oral health and how to prevent oral disease is a priority.
