Formally, I am Dr. Landon Sears, a pediatric dental specialist. I prefer being on a first-name basis with my patients, who I consider family! Patients and team members over the years of my additional training as a specialist have referred to me as the Cavity Commando and usually say it with a smile on their face followed by a few laughs. When faced with a decision to name our practice, it was easy as a pediatric dentist to give it a name that makes children smile! As the Cavity Commando, I have strived to develop a fun and entertaining approach to help motivate children (and their parents) to take serious care of their oral health. When your kids come to our office, we simply want to make it a fun and safe environment for them, while focusing on our goal to not only fight cavities but work with them to promote the best oral hygiene practices in a positive way and hopefully prevent them from ever getting cavities.
I have treated thousands of children of all ages who have come to me with severe anxiety and phobias. Nothing is more satisfying to me than helping a child overcome their fear of the dentist, all while delivering an exceptional level of dental care to keep their smiles healthy. I always take a very conservative or minimally invasive approach. I will only recommend treatment when I believe it is absolutely necessary for your child and have many tricks to help your children tackle dental decay without ever picking up a needle or drill. I never use scary words like those! While training as a specialist at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital in Miami, FL, I also learned how to safely treat children with sleep sedation and laughing gas. Even after this extensive training, I am still amazed by the modern medicinal techniques we have available to help kids feel relaxed for treatment. It truly is an incredible feeling to help a child suffering from a mouth full of dental decay or pain and perform all of their treatment in an hour or so while they are asleep. I am very excited to offer these services locally with partners at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and Cookeville Surgery Center.

Had initial issue with communication over oral surgery for my foster youth, but owner reached out and made things right. He took the time to call me and explain the situation. I wrote the initial review impulsively and for that I apologize.

Call backs are communication. Communication is business. Good business is success. You need to run insurance to get exact cost. I am so sick of being over charged after the fact. It's called scamming your customers. I won't be back this time.

Really disappointed in this place. My granddaughter had to have work done and needed clearance from doc to do so. I turned the paper in, called a week later and they told me that everything was good to go , just waiting on surgery to schedule. An entire month went by and I was under the impression we were waiting for scheduling. When I called a month later to find out what was going on they proclaimed that they didn't have what they needed. Nobody bothered to call at all. My 3year old granddaughter had to go through two scripts of antibiotics and a month's worth of pain and they couldn't bother to call me to fix what was otherwise a simple problem that could had been both solved in an under an hour by either myself or the child's doctor. Took her else where and the procedure was done in less than 2 weeks. I wasted my time with this office.

This place is amazeing my daughter had a tooth pulled on 9-27-2022 and they messaged to check on her the next morning I drive a hour just to see dr Landon and his staff they are top of the line amazeing!

As always, very pleased with our visit! The doctor was very patient and understanding about my daughter being very shy and nervous. She was very kind and helpful with alternate cleaning options to try at home so she's more comfortable! So glad we made the switch from her last dentist! We love it here!

Not the best with sensory issue kids. My daughter has had an oral aversion since birth. She never took a bottle and doesn't eat solid foods. Due to past trauma she is understandably scared of all doctors. Our first dentist visit here was a nightmare. I do not recommend for kids who have special needs. The dentist himself seemed frustrated and clearly did not know what to do even though I had explained my daughter's oral aversion 4 times while I was there. He blatantly told me he wasn't allowed to tell me to hold her down basically hinting that I do so. I suggest finding a pediatric dentist with decent bedside manner and patience for special needs children.

WE CELEBRATED MY SONS FIRST OFFICIAL DENTAL APPOINTMENT AT 3 YEARS OLD. THE STAFF WAS GREAT. MY SON WAS HAPPY AND HAD FUN .THE STAFF WAS FANTASTIC.AND MADE MICHAEL JRS EXPERIENCE FUN.. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB.

I thought the owners response to an unethical review by an opposing employee was awesome! Don't defame someone with ulterior motives and not expect legal action! I've heard only good things about this place and hopefully this review negates the negative ones that were made out of spite by someone who didn't get hired. (:

Just read a response by the owner on a review someone left and talk about unprofessional the owner even went as far as threatening her if you get this mad over a review I would hate to see how he treats others I know I will never take my kids here and it's not because of the review it's in regards of how childish the owner has acted to this situation the professional thing to do would have been to apologize and say I will look into this I would drive to Knoxville before I took my kids here and you can have your "lawyers" contact me at their convenience

The staff was fantastic with my very anxious 4 year old, and explained everything as they went. And Dr. Sears is wonderful as well. Even though not fully thawing out to new people, my 4 year old got back to our car and told me how nice they were and that she couldn't wait to come back. That's a definite win.

Everyone here is so nice they don't push or try to rush. They always go above and beyond to make my children feel comfortable before they even start anything. If you have a child that's afraid of the dentist TAKE THEM HERE!!
