Dr. Richard Chace Caven is a fifth generation, Florida dentist. For over 150 years, Dr. Caven and his family have strived to provide the highest quality and most friendly dental care. Dating back to the 1860s to Dr. Cavens great great grandfather, James Chace, there has been true integrity and personal attention given to patients.And as reported in The Jacksonville Magazine, his dental peers have voted Dr. Caven asbotha Top Dentistand Top Doctorin Jacksonville year after year. Dr. Caven was born and raised in Jacksonville and has practiced dentistry here since 1996. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and received his D.M.D. from the University of Florida College of Dentistry.
Dr. Caven is committed to continually learning about advances in dental care. He has attended 1000s of hours of continuing education courses in CEREC CAD-CAM technology, Lasers, Invisalign, Six Month Smiles, Obstructive Sleep Apnea,Implant supported dentures in one day called Teeth Xpress,ZOOM Whitening, advanced aesthetic considerations, porcelain veneers and crowns, advanced dental bonding, implant restorations, TMJ diagnosis and treatment, periodontal treatment, air abrasion technology, root canal treatment,Botox Cosmetic and Juvederm Ultra dermal filler.
Dr. Caven has been featured on the local news and in the newspaper, has published articles for local magazines and for more than three years, Dr. Caven produced and hosted Your Family Dentist, a TV program that explained basic dental information to the public in easy-to-understand terms.
Dr. Caven has been on the Clinical Board Advisor of the local Southpoint Study Club and helps lead a local educational experience in laser technology. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Northeast District Dental Association, the Jacksonville Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Pankey Learning Group, the Gebhard Study Club and a Charter member of the Florida Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Away from the dental office, Dr. Caven has been married to his wife, Debbie, since 2004 and has a young girl and a younger boy to keep things active at home. He is a Charter member of the Southpoint Rotary Club and very active in the tennis community as an A level player.
Dr. Denman was born and raised in Tampa, FL with his twin brother. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelors degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition with a specialization in Nutritional Sciences in 2001. He then attended Boston University to earn his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) in 2006.
From 2006-2008 he practiced in Tampa as a family and cosmetic dentist. He completed many, cosmetic, comprehensive, and full mouth rehabilitation cases along with traditional and routine dentistry. He then moved to Austin, TX and worked with his twin brother, Chad, until 2016. During that time, Dr. Denman completed many pediatric cases, extractions, implant placement and implant restorations, all the while utilizing conscious sedation to help patients achieve complete comfort.
Dr. Denman then returned to Florida and has been working here for a few years in a corporate dental office. He loves taking his time and doing high quality work, which attracted him to Caven Dental Group. Dr. Caven and Dr. Carpenter feel confident that our patients will love Dr. Denman and appreciate his kind nature and high standards.
On a more personal note, Dr. Denman enjoys working out and playing tennis in local leagues and at US Tennis Association tournaments. He is married with two daughters and is involved in his local church.
Dr. Carpenter is a Veteran of the United States Navy. After his service he began his private practice in 1982. He has consistently been recognized by the Jacksonville Magazine as a one of the Top Dentists in city.
Dental education has been central to Dr. Carpenters professional journey. He has been a life member of The American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Jacksonville Dental Society.
