Our new office is outfitted with state of the art equipment to ensure a seamless patient experience. Our doctors bring an enthusiastic approach to treatment and our staff strives to make each and every patient feel comfortable. We are thrilled to be expanding the Cavalancia Orthodontic family and so excited to be in the Johnstown area!

Following undergraduate studies at Saint Vincent College, Dr. Jeffrey Cavalancia received his D.D.S. Degree in 1983 from Case Western Reserve University Dental School in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1985, upon completion of post graduate orthodontic specialty training at C.W.R.U., he was awarded a Masters of Science Degree in Dentistry.

Dr. Cavalancia is active in many professional organizations, including the Indiana County Dental Society, the Western Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontists, the Pennsylvania Society of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the American Association of Orthodontists. He remains current as a specialist in orthodontics by attending various workshops and conferences sponsored by these organizations.

Jeff and his wife, Judy, an IUP alumna, are both graduates of Blairsville High School. They are the parents of three children, James, Carmen and Desiree'. As residents of Indiana, their community ties are evidenced by their active support of area schools and many local charity organizations.

Dr. James Cavalancia is an Indiana native, who received his Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Washington and Jefferson College. He continued his education at Temple University where he received his DMD degree as well as a Master's degree in Oral Biology and a specialty in Orthodontics.

Dr. Kaitlyn Schiels received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from The College of New Jersey and her DMD degree from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She obtained her Master's degree in Oral Biology and a specialty in Orthodontics at Temple University, where she met Dr. James Cavalancia. Dr. Schiels is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists. She is an avid reader and in her spare time she enjoys running, kickboxing classes, and is in the process of writing her first book.

Mary will celebrate 20 years with the practice in September. Over the years, she has taken multiple continuing education classes to assist her with her job as an administrative assistant. She enjoys working with people, and believes in providing the best customer service possible. Mary resides in Clymer, PA with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys camping, outdoor activities, and spending time with her first grandchild, Ivy.

Elisa has been with Cavalancia Orthodontics for 10 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Grove City College. Elisa and her husband, Scott, are natives of Ohio but have called Indiana, PA home for 25 years; they have two children, Dane (23), and Rachael (21). In her free time, Elisa enjoys baking, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends.

Deborah, from the Indiana area, specializes in orthodontic appliances. Deb has 19 years of experience with the practice and is happy to be a part of an outstanding team. Debs free time is spent traveling, volunteering, and enjoying time spent with family and grandsons, Parker and Tucker. She is anxiously awaiting the arrival of two more grandchildren!

Susan has been with the practice for 8 years. Previously she lived in Pittsburgh where she worked for a general dentist in Sewickley, PA. She is a native of Johnstown and a graduate of Richland High School. Susan resides in Indiana with her husband, Andrew, and her two daughters, Maura and Brenna. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her 2 dogs, knitting, and spending time with her family.
