Since third grade, Dr. Catherine Johnson Mincy knew she wanted to follow in her fathers footsteps Dr. Charles Johnson and become a dentist. She attended Ole Miss as an Honors Scholar, but ultimately followed her U.S. Navy officer husband and finished her Bachelors degree at Old Dominion University in Virginia. She received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1997 from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, which is also her fathers alma mater.
Dr. Mincy is a General Dentist who is passionate about continuing education and providing a variety of services to her patients. She completed the rigorous requirements for the Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in 2003 and finished her certification for the World Clinical Laser Institute in 2007. Currently, she is working on her Masters with the Academy of General Dentistry and her fellowship requirements for the American Association of Implant Dentistry.
She is a member of the American Orthodontic Society and the American Association of Implant Dentistry and attends regular meetings. She is also a member of both the American and Mississippi Association of Women Dentists and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.
Outside of work, Catherine enjoys reading, waterskiing (yes, in her forties, she can still slalom better than most teens!), St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Ole Miss sports, and horses. She teaches Sunday School at her church, First Baptist Church of Booneville; volunteers monthly with the Tree of Life Clinic in Tupelo, providing dental care to indigent patients; and serves on the Booneville School District Board. She and her husband, Jeff, have been married since 1990 and have two daughters, Meridith, a student at Ole Miss, and Leslie Kate, a student at Booneville High School.
China Rinehart has been assisting Dr. Mincy since 2004. She enjoys the relationships she has built with patients over this time. Outside the office, China enjoys spending time with her young son, cooking and being a Pampered Chef consultant.
Olivia Crowe is a Booneville native. Shes an animal lover, a new homeowner and her guilty pleasure is reality tv. She has been a member of the Mincy Dental team since 2011 and enjoys the relationships she forms with our orthodontic patients as they transition through treatment.
Dionne Morgan is proud of her profession as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She has been with the Mincy Dental team since 2007. Outside of work, she stays busy as a soccer mom, band mom, and tumbling mom, to four adorable kids. Roll Tide!
Heather Ledbetter has been a member of this team the longest. She originally began working for Dr. Mincys father, Charles Johnson, DDS, when she was still in high school and continued whilst earning her dental hygiene degree at NEMCC. Heather is a Booneville native who enjoys staying active in her church, supporting both her sons in the Booneville Blue Devil Band and their other activities, traveling with her family and reading. Eventhough she stays busy, she always finds time to keep her fingernails painted!
Susan Johnson says after being here over 13 years, many of thepatients feel like family. She loves to crochet and watch football, yes, at the same time! She is a cancer survivor and is grateful for the prayers and support from work family and patients.
Outside of work, Misty Johnson enjoys spending time with herhusband and three beautiful children, reading and watching football. Shes grateful to work in a fun and welcoming environment where shemeets new people daily.
Dr. Charles Johnson, Dr. Catherine Mincys father, founded the practice in 1965. It has been in its current location since 1978 when Dr. Johnson and his brother built their healthcare facility. Dr. Mincy joined him in 1997 and became the practice owner in 2009. Her father semi-retired in 2011 and completely retired in 2015.
Dr. Johnson was and is a firm believer that education does not stop with a degree. He set a high standard of pursuing further education in areas he thought would better serve patients. From the late 1960s when he was one of the first dentists in Mississippi to place dental implants, to the new millennium when this was one of the first practices in the state to own a hard tissue laser, Dr. Johnson always believed that the Booneville community and surrounding areas deserved the best out there and Dr. Mincy has worked hard to maintain and continue this vision today.
