Dr. Ray considers herself fortunate to practice in a profession that is her passion. The practice, established in 1990, serves adults in the Duke medical community, Forest Hills, Rockwood and the surrounding communities of Raleigh, Creedmoor, Chapel Hill, Cary, Hillsborough, and Mebane.

Her team provides comprehensive restorative dentistry including aesthetic smile design, teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, crowns, bridges and implant restorations. As a general dentist, she is responsible for helping the patient maintain their teeth for a lifetime of healthy confident smiles.

In contrast, more complex dental reconstruction and smile design changes may require extensive planning and multiple visits. Communication with the aid of study models and photographs are used to gain the most favorable results to meet the patients expectations.

The lovely part of being in practice for 25 years, according to Dr. Ray, is having the chance to see first hand the trends and services that survive the test of time. Although the practice of dentistry is continually changing, the science of dentistry was established on a sound foundation. Fortunately, new technologies have just made the services faster, quieter, more comfortable and often more aesthetically pleasing.

Dr. Ray and her husband were both raised in western North Carolina and married there in 1977. They spent their young adult years in Lexington, Ky where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Kentucky in 1988.

Returning to North Carolina, and residing in Durham, Dr. Ray continued her postdoctoral training as a General Practice Resident at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the UNC School of Medicine. The two year, hospital based residency solidified her knowledge of care for the medically compromised.

In December 1990, Dr. Ray opened her private practice in Durham, North Carolina in the Rockwood Building on University Drive. She recently relocated the practice to 3310 University Drive, one mile from the original office.

Dr. and Mr. Ray reside in Hillsborough where they raised their son Orion, a 2015 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College. Free time finds her enjoying the company of their two yellow labs Jim and Sadie. She also dabbles in gardening and treasures her vacation days with family at Emerald Isle, North Carolina. Her admitted weakness and pleasure is collecting tableware, as well as cookbooks, many of which are displayed, in her office, for your enjoyment.
