The field of dentistry has interested me ever since I was a teenager. I decided to pursue a career in periodontology because it allows me to perform many innovative procedures that can greatly enhance peoples smiles and their self-confidence. My ultimate goal is to give patients of all ages a healthy, beautiful smile that can change their lives in ways they never thought possible. To do this, Ive made sure that I have the advanced training and education necessary to provide an optimum level of care.
After I completed two years of postdoctoral training, I proceeded on for several more years of studying and written board exams by the leaders in my field to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Since the Boards inception in 1939, only about 2,000 periodontists have achieved this prestigious status. In addition, I stay on top of the latest developments in my field by completing far beyond the required amount of continuing education each year.
A native of Moline, Dr. Bishop returned home after completing dental school and a residency to open her practice and serve the needs of her friends, neighbors and community. In her spare time, she enjoys snow skiing, hiking, especially in the mountains; tennis and bike riding. Most often these activities are with her husband and two children. Dr. Bishop also participates in local fun runs and a variety of community activities and philanthropic events. She has been a 15 plus year supporter & member of Junior Board of Rock Island.
Dr. Bishop is dedicated to serving her profession and the dental community which in turn keeps patients care, needs and accessibility at the forefront of importance. She is committed to upholding the highest standard of care available.
Mrs. Toland joined the office in 2005 as a Licensed Dental Hygienist. In 2009 she became Office Manager where she has excelled at assisting patients with insurance claims and questions, the everyday operations of the office and continues to keep up her clinical skills with part time hygiene practice as well as helping us out in the clinical aspect of care. Courtney is efficient and always getting the job done. She has an excellent sense of humor and truly cares about helping people.
In her spare time she finds herself providing care on the Give Kids a Smile Dental Bus, or spending time with her family and friends, helping out in the classrooms and baking. She loves to curl up with a good book and a blanket.

Friendly staff and Dr. I have been a patient here for 25+ years. Still have healthy teeth and gums. My appts are always on time and I rarely wait more than a few minutes in the waiting room. Love this office.

I wish I hadn't needed Dr. Bishop's periondontal expertise, but I did, and I wish someone had referred me to her decades ago! My lower mandibular tori bones were growing so much it had gotten painful, I talked with a lisp and had trouble breathing. My tongue could not rest where it is intended to because of the overgrown tori bones. No dentist ever told me they could be removed, until this year. I am so happy with the end result. I think my obstructive sleep apnea has resolved as well as many other symptoms I was experiencing. Dr. Bishop and her staff are kind and caring. I highly recommend her if you find yourself in need of her services.

When I was referred to Dr.Bishop, I had ignored my dental work for sometime. I was suffering from gum disease and bone loss among other issues. My daughter was seen by Dr.Bishop. what a wonderful, experienced periodontist...I would recommend her to anyone, young or aged. My daughter originally was referred to an oral surgeon and wasn't comfortable at all in his presence(Astacia has down syndrome)not saying he's not good but my daughter was nervous and didn't want to go back. Her orthodontist referred us to Dr.Bishop and her presence was friendly, happy, and comforting as her whole office was. Astacia loved everyone and did very well. No other place could of been better, thank you....

It has been my experience in almost two decades of treatment here, that Dr. Bishop never misses the opportunity to spend time with me during every appointment to review my status, explain procedures and potential options that ensure my best possible outcomes. Dawn the hygienist, is compassionate and technically excellent. Dawn's attention to detail ensures my comfort, even taking the time to warm the water before every cleaning. I have been going to Dr. Catherine Bishop for over 25 years and during that time she has provided outstanding care. Actions speak volumes as I now live in the Northwest suburb of Chicagoland and continue to travel 150+ miles since 2000 to have Dr Cathy maintain my periodontal care. From the moment I walked in the door I was put at ease. Dr. Bishop and her whole staff are very personalble and detailed in answering questions and explaining services. I ended up needing gum surgery and Dr. Bishop was available after hours to answer any concerns I had. My teeth and gums are now in excellent shape thanks to her and her staff! Highly recommend!!
