He is adept at working with patients who have dental-related phobias and anxieties, providing reassurance and encouragement to help them work through their concerns and learn to relax and be comfortable while in his care. Dr. Vanourny does not judge his patients, but rather listens to them and assists them, allowing them to set the pace of their dental care. His approach brings peace of mind to his patients and allows them to learn to trust. In being trusted, Dr. Vanourny finds great reward, as he knows he has made a connection and been able to improve the life of his patient.

Dr. Vanourny was awarded his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, one of the top dental schools in the United States. Upon graduating, Dr. Vanourny spent multiple years as an adjunct professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry working with fourth year seniors in the general clinic. This degree has provided him with a firm foundation in the practice of dentistry. However, Dr. Vanourny knows it is essential that he stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and procedures in order to provide the most effective dental treatment possible to his patients. He pursues continuing educating offerings through the South Charlotte Study Club and takes courses at oral healthcare conferences and meetings.

Born and raised in Iowa, Dr. Vanourny now calls Lake Wylie, SC his home. He and his wife, who is a dermatologist, have three young children: twin sons and a daughter. Their family also includes a dog, Chloe. While his family is his first priority, and he spends much of his free time playing with his children, Dr. Vanourny also enjoys running, biking, golfing, and cheering on the Hawkeyes.

Dr. Britany Baker has been in dentistry since 2016 and joined the Catawba Valley Dental Care team in 2020. She has dreamed of being a dentist since she was a little girl growing up in the dentist's office where her mother worked as a dental hygienist. Dr. Baker is passionate about forming personal relationships with her patients, and working together to create a treatment plan to meet each patient's unique goals for both an esthetically pleasing and healthy smile. Dr. Baker completed her undergraduate education at Eastern Kentucky University and received her DMD from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

Dr. Baker is originally from Hazard, Kentucky located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Coming from an impoverished area has made Dr. Baker passionate about educating people on the importance of establishing healthy oral habits starting from a young age. She has spent time volunteering in low income clinics treating adults and children who would not otherwise be able to afford care.

Dr. Baker lives in Charlotte with her beagle, Ryder, and Jazz the cat. In her free time, Dr. Baker enjoys hiking, rock climbing, reading, cooking, and yoga. Dr. Baker is a soccer fan and cheers on Tottenham Hotspurs.

My job entails assisting Dr. Vanourny and Dr. Baker with all aspects pertaining to clinical procedures and to ensure all patients are made as comfortable as possible. I began as an assistant in 2008 and I have been working with Dr. Vanourny since 2012. I grew up around dentistry with my father owning a dental laboratory and my mother working in both dental offices and labs.

My favorite part of my job is being able to make patients comfortable. It is very enjoyable being able to see patients through their total treatment and seeing their happiness with our care. I love the fact that every day I come to work and feel I am working with great, loyal and passionate people that are truly concerned for our patients health and satisfaction.

I graduated from Central Piedmont Community College in 2016 and joined Catawba Valley Dental Care immediately following graduation. As a dental hygienist, I am responsible for taking xrays, evaluating gum tissues, cleanings and caring for patients with periodontal disease through scaling and antibiotic placement.

My favorite part of my job is getting to know my patients and their families and helping them to achieve and maintain their health through proper oral hygiene. I really enjoy working with Dr. Vanourny and Dr. Baker, they do a great job of working with their employees and helping them to grow in their careers. You can tell they really care about their team. Our team at Catawba Valley Dental Care is excellent and we all do a great job of communicating and truly feel like a team.

I was married in October of 2016 to my husband Michael. We really enjoy spending time together whether that is taking a fun road trip, or relaxing at home. In my spare time I enjoy sewing, crocheting and doing other fun crafts.

I graduated from York Tech in 2008 and after nine years in dentistry, joined Catawba Valley Dental Care in 2017. I am responsible for performing cleanings and treating periodontal disease. I also take X-rays, place antibiotics and sealants, and counsel patients on nutrition and home care.

I attended York Tech for dental hygiene and have been in the dental field since 2005. My duties are performing cleanings and caring for patients with periodontal disease through scaling and antibiotic placement. In addition to that I also take x-rays, intraoral photos and counsel patients on oral hygiene and proper nutrition.

My favorite part of my job is interacting with and educating patients on their oral hygiene. Dr. Vanourny and Dr. Baker are great to work with, they are easy-going, friendly and provide excellent care for our patients.

I have been married for 7 years, my husband and I have 2 daughters and a cat. We love going to the beach, swimming and riding bikes with our kids. During my down time I enjoy reading, working out, shopping and spending time with family and friends.

I joined the team at Catawba Valley Dental Care in March of 2018 and have been working in the dental field for 20 years. I love my job because I enjoy having a part in putting a smile on our patients faces and watching them walk out healthier and happier.

I joined Catawba Valley Dental Care in December of 2019. My job entails assisting Dr. Vanourny and Dr. Baker with different types of dental procedures. I started working as an assistant in 2017 after graduating from Concorde Career College in Colorado.

I am the scheduling coordinator at Catawba Valley Dental Care and joined the team in 2018. I am usually the first one you'll talk to when calling or coming to our office. The thing I like best about working here is meeting new peopleour team here is very warm, welcoming, and helpful!

As financial coordinator, I help patients schedule their needed treatment and understand their insurance. I have been working in dentistry for 20 years and joined Catawba Valley Dental Care in 2018. My favorite part of my job is helping people get their treatment scheduled and getting them on their way to better health.

As the Insurance Coordinator at Catawba Valley Dental Care, I serve as the bridge between the dental office and your insurance company. I am a recent graduate of Purdue University with a Master's in Healthcare Administration. I joined the practice in 2020. What I love most about my job is the inviting atmosphere and meeting new people.

I am a mom of four kids and a dog! In my downtime, I am either volunteering with our local girl scout council, reading, hiking, playing outside with my kids or dabbling with photography. I love everything fall and Halloween!
