Dr. Andrew J. Dunbar attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where, in 1987, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Magna Cum Laude. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Oklahoma-College of Dentistry in 1991, and his General Practice Residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego.
Dr. Dunbar practiced general dentistry and orthodontics in the U.S. Navy and private practice before he became an orthodontist. He served in San Diego, California; Okinawa, Japan; and in Bethesda, Maryland before specializing in orthodontics. Dr. Dunbar earned his Master of Science (MS) in Oral Biology and his Certificate in Orthodontics University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2002.
Dr. Dunbar is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Rocky Mountain Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, and Metropolitan Denver Dental Society.
Dr. Dunbar and his wife, Jennifer, reside in Castle Pines, and they have two daughters, Sierra and Jane. They are active members of Southeast Christian Church. In addition, Dr. Dunbar actively supports the community and schools by donating services to fundraising events and giving presentations to middle and high schools on the pursuit of dental and orthodontic careers. Dr. Dunbar employs a high school intern each summer in order for them to experience the business of orthodontics. Dr. Dunbars hobbies include golf, skiing, family travel, and especially watching the Colorado Avalanche rock the NHL!
We enjoy all kinds of sports! Our favorite sport is ice hockey, especially when our son Dalton plays! I have been an Orthodontic Assistant for Dr. Dunbar since 2006. I love working with our patients and watching them progress in treatment!
After completing my Bachelors degree in education from UNC, I started working orthodontics in 1985 and worked for an orthodontist in Denver. He taught me to love orthodontics, demonstrating that when teeth fit together properly they can last a lifetime if maintained properly. I have been doing this ever since and love every minute of it! Here at Castle Rock Orthodontics, I meet and greet new patients, set up financial and insurance arrangements, and generally ensure that our patients feel comfortable and that their experience here is pleasant. My favorite thing is seeing a new patient get so excited about getting braces, and then seeing the results when the braces finally come off! The smiles are spectacular!
I have lived in Colorado for 30 years and never want to leave! I started working in dentistry in 1989 and over the years have worked in periodontics, general dentistry and now orthodontics. After taking time off to raise 2 kids I was welcomed back to the working world by Castle Rock Orthodontics! The staff and patients here are so much fun to work with and I love helping to give people the beautiful smiles they deserve!
I have lived in Castle Rock for the last 18 years and love living in this community. In my spare time I enjoy walking, boating, fishing and music. My family and friends are always a priority in my life. I have been a stay at home Mom for the past 7.5 years. In the fall of 2015 I was given the opportunity to work with this amazing team!

We had such a positive experience with Dr. Dunbar and his entire staff! They were extremely accommodating for a last-minute schedule change so that we could all be there to hear directly from the doctor. A very professional and friendly environment for kiddos and their parents!

I was a person that never wanted to step foot into an orthodontist's office, but I cannot express enough how incredible Castle Rock Orthodontics is! My daughter received her braces from Castle Rock Orthodontics a couple of years ago & we were very happy with Dr Dunbar & his staff. Her teeth look beautiful & we were very happy with the process. My son just had his initial consultation for his braces & will be getting them put on Oct 1st. Everyone here at this office are friendly, professional & know how to make you feel comfortable & welcome. I highly recommend them!

Dr. Dunbar and his staff are super nice! Facility is up to date and clean. Make sure you follow up with make sure your insurance has paid everything otherwise no one will call you to inform you of this until the end.

My daughter had a significant fear of going to the dentist and would get very anxious about anything new. So, when we started at Castle Rock Ortho I was concerned about her ability to handle this process. But, from the very first visit, the entire team welcomed us warmly, explained each step and made my daughter completely comfortable. She is 9yo and has completed her first set of braces. She is never afraid to go to the office and her beautiful smile is a gift. Very grateful for Dr. Dunbar and his amazing team!

Our visit to Dr. Dunbar's office the other day to have my son's braces put on was a great experience. The staff was Professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Everyone from the front desk, to assistants who weren't even working on my son, and Dr. Dunbar made us feel like we part of their tight knit family. Thank you CRO!
