Dede is also a Colorado native and continues to live and enjoy Colorado with her family. She started her career working in Westminster and has been assisting for the last 35 years. She is our part-time assistant currently and works 2 days a week. In her free time, she likes to travel to the mountains with her family and loves to camp.

Lorraine is one of our dental hygienists. She is originally from central New York, but she and her husband have called Castle Rock their home for decades.Health and fitness have always been a passion of hers, so you might see her at the recreation center, walking the trails, or climbing the incline. Building trust and cultivating relationships with patients comes naturally for Lorraine because of her kind and caring demeanor. Once you meet her, we think you will agree she is passionate about providing exceptional dental care.

Dr. Ludin attended the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, where she received her DDS in 1998. She began practicing in Denver with the non-profit organization KIND (Kids in Need of Dentistry). From 2001-2006, she was the staff dentist at the Tri-County Health Senior Dental Clinic, providing dental services for qualifying seniors. After that, she was an associate dentist inthe Cherry Creek area for almost ten years.

Everybody gets a dry mouth from time to time. Temporary mouth dryness can be brought on by dehydration, stress, or simply the normal reduction in saliva flow at night. But persistent mouth dryness, a condition known as xerostomia, is cause for concern.

Xerostomia occurs when your salivary glands, which normally keep your mouth moist by secreting saliva, are not working properly. A chronic lack of saliva has significant health implications. For one thing, it can be difficult to eat with a dry mouth; tasting, chewing and swallowing may also be affected. This could compromise your nutrition. Also, a dry mouth creates ideal conditions for tooth decay. Thats because saliva plays a very important role in keeping decay-causing oral bacteria in check and neutralizing the acids these bacteria produce; it is the acid in your mouth that erodes tooth enamel and starts the decay process. A dry mouth can also cause bad breath.

  • Medications. For most people suffering from dry mouth, medications are to blame. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, there are more than 500 medications (both prescription and over-the-counter) that have this side effect. Antihistamines (for allergies), diuretics (which drain excess fluid), and antidepressants, are high on the list of medications that cause xerostomia. Chemotherapy drugs can also have this effect.
  • Disease. Some systemic (general body) diseases can cause dry mouth. Sjgrens syndrome, for example, is an autoimmune disease that causes the body to attack its own moisture-producing glands in the eyes and mouth. Other diseases that are known to cause dry mouth include diabetes, Parkinsons disease, cystic fibrosis and AIDS.
  • If you are taking any medication regularly, its possible that your physician can either suggest a substitute or adjust the dosage to relieve your symptoms of dry mouth. If this is not possible or has already been tried, here are some other things you can do:

  • Sip fluids frequently. This is particularly helpful during meals. Make sure what you drink does not contain sugar and isnt acidic, as these will both increase your risk of tooth decay. All sodas, including diet varieties, should be avoided, as they are acidic and attack the tooth surface.
  • Chew sugarless gum. This will help stimulate saliva flow if your salivary glands are not damaged. Choose a variety that contains xylitol, a natural sugar substitute that can be protective against tooth decay.
  • Have an exam/cleaning.If you have dry mouth, its more important than ever to maintain your regular schedule of visits to the dental office. Please be sure to let us know what medications you are taking, particularly if there have been any changes recently. We will do our best to help relieve any dry-mouth symptoms you are experiencing.

ZERO stars. Received billing for a rescheduled appointment that wasn't actually cancelled by their receptionist. She even called the day of the original appointment to tell me is missed it and seemed to conveniently forget I had spoken with her a few days prior to rescheduled. Um hello????Were not willing to adjust the fake charges to the extent where I was required to file a grievance with my insurance company for fraudulent billing practices from this provider. The charges were deemed invalid from the provider. Was also treated rudely when I asked for MY records and was promised an electronic copy which I never received. Oh wait, why would it be safe to assume they could complete an honest task that is part of their job? Stay away from this provider if you like honesty, quality, and service; the practice is trash on every level.

Everyone here is so friendly. They care about not only your dental health but you as a person as well. I am happy to have found this dental office. I even tried bringing my boys here and they are on the spectrum, so I was worried, but they did amazing, and the dentist and hygienist talked them through everything. I was very impressed. Now they are also my boy's dentist as well. We love this Dental Office and everyone there including the receptionist.

I have been going here since we moved to Castle Rock a couple of years ago. Up until my recent visit it's been good as far as dentists go. I need work redone, which I received prior to them, but they weren't friendly or forthcoming about the procedure I need to have completed. I had to ask questions about each detail so I knew what to expect and it's not just a simple filling. I wish they had talked to me instead of around me, making me ask what exactly was happening. On top of this it felt like my hygienist was trying to scare me into brushing more. She has stated before that certain things "weren't normal", when no other dentist has told me that in 25 years. I'm not 15 years old. I've been around the block. The added anxiety is really not appreciated by people that do actually take care of their teeth.
