Dr. Dan Cassidy, DDS, a native of Northern Virginia, is a graduate of James Madison University, and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University.
Since graduating from dental school in 1998, Dr. Cassidy has been dedicated to Continuing Education, taking advanced courses in Comprehensive Dentistry, Dental Implants and courses on Snoring and Sleep Apnea. Dr. Cassidy has studied at the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington and the Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida. These comprehensive courses involve aesthetics, occlusion and restorative dentistry. Through his dedication to Continuing Education, Dr. Cassidy is able to utilize the latest and most up-to-date information to help his patients make informed decisions regarding their oral health care. His goal is to provide the best care at the highest standards. Over the years Dr. Cassidy has proudly served patients in his Alexandria practice by providing preventative and restorative dental care. He enjoys helping his patients restore their mouths to optimal health and function, including restoring dental implants.
Dr. Cassidy has served as a part time clinical faculty member at the Medical College of Virginia, School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association , Northern Virginia Dental Society, Virginia Dental Association, and the Alexandria Dental Society. Dr. Cassidy has served as the President of the Alexandria Dental Society and served on the Young Alumni Council of Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Dentistry. Dr. Cassidy has continued to be recognized as one of the Top Dentists in the area by the Washingtonian Magazine, and Virginia Living Magazine.
Dr. Cassidy met his wife Jenny, who is a dental hygienist, while they were both attending dental school Richmond, VA. They live with their children in the area. While in dental school, Dr. Cassidy volunteered as a dental assistant at the Northern Virginia Dental Clinic in Annandale. Today his volunteer work continues; together Dr. Cassidy, Jenny and his staff have all volunteered dental services at the clinic, and the Mission of Mercy (MOM) Project. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Cassidy enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and exercise.

This review is long overdue. About 8 months ago, I had a front crown pop out. You can imagine the horror on my face when I was told that my previous dentist's office was closed that week. No blame on them whatsoever. They were moving offices that week. Their voicemail message suggested to contact Dr. Cassidy "in case of emergency". When I called Dr. Cassidy's office, Joanne at the front desk answered the phone. Joanne is the nicest and most accommodating and compassionate person that I have ever met! She was so helpful and was able to find time in Dr. Cassidy's schedule that day! And just like that, my crown was back in. Dr. Cassidy made me feel like I was a patient of his for years! I had such a great experience and loved Dr. Cassidy and his team so much, that I decided to switch from my previous Dentist, and have been going to Dr. Cassidy ever since. There's such a sense of calm in that office and a friendly, family like atmosphere when you walk through the door. I also have to mention his amazing team. The Hygienist is so gentle and extremely thorough. I highly recommend Dr. Cassidy for all of your dental needs. He's kind, caring, and extremely knowledgeable, a master at his craft!

Dr. Cassidy has been our dental care provider for several years, for my wife and myself and all of our adult children. Our employees and my brother and his adult children also see Dr. Cassidy. I am continually impressed with every element of his practice, which is certainly stressed given the current COVID situation, and yet they do not miss a beat. Dr. Cassidy and his staff (including his lovely wife) are serious about making every "touch" with every patient/client special and positive. His investments in new technology and new procedures and practices shows the progressive nature of his personal philosophy and demonstrates his commitment to "best business practices". He invest both his time and money in making certain that his practice is the Gold standard of care. Needless to say I/We feel strongly about Dr. Cassidy and the excellent practice he has built and continues to grow and develop. I am embarrassed that I did not write this review years ago because his commitment to Best Business practices has been a part of his DNA from the beginning. He "walks the walk and talks the talk" in terms of making good decisions/recommendations for his clients health and well being. He is a consummate professional as is his entire staff. Dr. Cassidy and his staff are excellent dental health professionals who treat their patients as family. Their easy going demeanor and clear explanations of routine and involved dental procedures eases the anxiety that many patients sometimes experience. Dr. Cassidy has also continued to maintain his professional knowledge and credentials which has provided him with a broad list of doctors to refer patients to for unique dental procedures. Overall, Dr. Cassidy is a true family oriented doctor which any patient would feel comfortable with.

Dr. Cassidy and his team are wonderful. My husband and I have both been patients for over 5 years and have nothing but the highest praise for their professionalism, kindness, and the quality of their work. I recently went in for a cleaning and was extremely impressed with their COVID safety protocols - they went above and beyond. Highly recommend!

I have been coming to Dr. Cassidy's office for years. By the time you got there, you will be recognized and greeted by Joanne's welcoming voice. I feel the sense of being important. I am always scared to visit a dentist. But, it changed when I met Dr. Cassidy. He will make you feel assured that you will be taken care of. He is not just an excellent dentist but also a friend. He always checks any procedure done by their expert hygienists for your satisfaction. And it was really "another one fine day".

I was in yesterday, August 27, 2020 to have my regular dental cleaning at Dr. Dan Cassidy's office. He and his staff are absolutely awesome. They are all so nice and take such good care of their patients. I was so impressed yesterday because Dr. Cassidy has installed so many safety measures to keep his patients and staff well protected from not just Covid but other viruses as well. I've been seeing Dr. Dan for about 10 years now. Fabulous dentist and amazing staff. The hygienists are great. Friendly, gentle and do a great job of cleaning the pearly whites. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Our family used him for years, thought he was great, but unfortunately they stopped taking our insurance and we have had to move on. Would gladly go back if they were in our network again. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the scarcity of convenient appointments. The office hours are short. The treatment is top-notch.
