Dr. Tara decided after graduating with an interior design degree from the University of Arkansas that smiles were actually what she wanted to design. She was one of a 100 accepted into the University of Missouri, Kansas City dental school program from over 1,100 applicants. She then went on to be one of only four accepted into the UMKC orthodontic program from hundreds of applicants.Upon graduation, Dr. Tara returned to her hometown of Springfield and joined Cash Family Orthodontics.
Practicing with her father has enabled her to focus on new techniques while incorporating Dr. Jerrys years of experience.Dr. Tara uses traditional brackets, clear brackets, and Invisalign for both adult, teen and adolescent patients. Dr. Tara enjoys working with patients of all ages and treats cleft lip and cleft palate babies using a specialized appliance, the NAM appliance, placed within the first week of birth. She also treats newborns to adult patients with lip or tongue ties using a laser to minimize discomfort and recovery time.
Dr. Jerry loves the dental field. Working with local dentists and patients has been the highlight of his 40 years in practice. He often says that he has never worked a day in his life because making beautiful smiles is fun.
Dr. Jerry is exceptional. He graduated from dental school in three years, instead of the normal four. He taught at the dental school, practicing dentistry in Kansas, completed an optional master's thesis, and finished his orthodontic residency. After traveling a five-state area, Dr. Jerry and his wife, Shara, made Springfield their home over 40 years ago. Dr. Jerry is active in many community organizations and has been recognized many times over for his technical and management skills and his ability to make beautiful smiles.

Amazing experience considering it was having my son's tongue tie cut. Cassie was so incredibly helpful and kind as we went through the details with my almost two year old son. She got him a little toy truck to play with as we talked. Tara and her team took care of his tongue tie and literally the next day he was babbling and it's been one week and he's saying 100x more than he ever did before. I'm so tha kick for their team, very professional, kind and delivered great results. After they fixed his tongue tie I gave him the popsicle and read him the book Tara gave us and he calmed down. They thought of everything. True five star service!

I cannot say enough good about this place. Apparently Dr Tara is/was an interior designer and it VERY MUCH shows. This facility was gorgeous. It felt like we were in a multi million dollar mansion. The best thing about this is from the moment we entered the front doors we had nothing but excellent service. Everyone was kind and supportive. Thank you all for everything. May God bless you all

Absolutely would recommend if you're needing braces! The staff is so friendly and always did a good job. The appointments were always quick, & I never waited more than a couple minutes in the waiting room before they called me back. Dr. Tara is very friendly & always answered any questions I had. They're awesome!

Met with Dr. Jerry Cash for consultation and made a plan for my son. Arrived at the next visit to find that the plans they had were nothing like what we discussed. Instead of the removable retainer we had discussed they were putting in a permanent spacer. A total waste of two trips, as I didn't let them do anything.

Went to the old location and was just glad to not have to go here anymore. Ended up by the end requesting for most people to not work on my braces for how rough and uncaring they were to me when I came alone without an adult when I was 16. Didn't care for the owner he was just as if not more rough. I didn't mind I think it was his daughter she was always kind, caring and wasn't rough at all.

I got my braces & retainers at Cash. They were nice. I have experienced some frustration with them though when I got my retainers replaced because they were never open for me to come get my retainers.

Dr.Tara is so unkind. she is an extremely rude orthodontist who does not care about patients! The employees in her office are nice and understanding but she is NOT. I came in with an issue with my bite that they created with my retainers and she was extremely rude about it and was not helpful. I was trying to be so understanding but she was only concerned about being right in the situation. I've been at this orthodontist since I was young, and was sad to have such an unpleasant experience.

Writing this to hopefully expose how horrible Dr. Tara is, so no one has to go through what my sister went through. My sister had a permanent retainer put on by Dr. Tara's assistant. Don't think this is appropriate. Dr. Tara should have done it herself. The assistant put cement on a tooth that caused my sister to not be able to bite down all the way. After my sister confronted Dr. Tara about the situation the next day, she embarrassed her (mind you, my sister is 21 years old) by yelling in front of at least 20 other patients. Completely unacceptable. Find another ortho! Do NOT go here!
